As an Italian I like enjoying good food and I reckon this restaurant is very good.
There is a large variety of food and there are some very particular meals.
For the quality of the food and the view, the price is not excessive.
The staff is also very nice and familiar.
I always come here when I come back to London

From the moment we entered Sam’s there was an immediate good feel and the rest of the night continued that way. It was fully booked out however we were offered to sit at the bar. Best decision ever as we got to enjoy interaction with the bar staff ( many in Oz know how TV enjoys a chat) - Sunny & Chicago ( his new nickname is now “Bull” !!!!!!) just fabulous. And the food was absolutely beautiful. As we had only arrived in Hammersmith earlier in the day we were just looking to have something simple for dinner. My princess enjoyed the gnocchi & I went outside my boundaries and enjoyed a fabulous cheese burger. Loved the imprint on the bun.
Met the owner Sam when we first arrived and it was noticeable he made an effort to interact with his guests. Not overbearing just in a real positive way. As a business owner for over 40 years in Australia, you could sense Sam’s had a good culture and that was was obvious as to how Sam appeared & also Sunny behind the bar. They worked so hard all night & did not stop and yet there was no fuss, they still allowed themselves to interact & enjoy a chat with us and maintained high standards of getting the drink orders out to the wait staff. This place was just brilliant. We are here in Hammersmith from Perth Western Australia for some 11 days and this will definitely be our go to place over the coming days.
You may not be as fortunate as us to have the interaction with the staff but you will not be disappointed as to the food, the service and the positive feel. Over 170 patrons on a Monday night tells you something as to how good Sam’s is. If you have complaints about your experience at Sam’s you must be hard to please. 🙏😊🥂👍

Being pedantic, the only thing I would say is that it does get quite noisy as the restaurant fills and the duck pate starter could have done with a little relish to counteract the gaminess of the taste, but that's said, overall a very enjoyable evening and the deserts were particularly good so well done the chef that made those and...

Indecently exceptional! The food, the seafood (the oysters, OMG!), the cocktails, the wines, and the staff. Trying to fault them would be an insult to the spirit of this place. What can I say? Yes, just GO!
And by the way, there is an Alex at the bar… just eat at the bar only for him. Exceptional as well. He knows his stuff in terms of dishes, wines and before all … cocktails. His service and enthusiasm are out of this island… He IS the bar …
Now there are people who don’t like the little bit of this or the little bit of that. Or who have no idea that a Strawberry and Mint soufflé actually tastes Strawberry and Mint … and you know what? Ignore them… they have not idea what good food actually tastes like …
One of the best all-around dining experiences I've had in London! The service was perfect; our servers were incredibly attentive, cheerful, and funny (the hosts were lovely, too!). The food was great, I loved the scallop ceviche and gnocchi and my partner enjoyed the lamb and parmesan churros. The drinks were perfect, too and we had a nice view of the water and bridge. Would love to go back.
Everything we ate was fresh and delicious. We really enjoyed the Shetland Mussels and Grilled Courgettes.The room is very relaxing with a beautiful view. Excellent customer service. Thank you guys.

I took my mum for her birthday and had the most wonderful experience, from the moment you enter the staff welcome you & assist. We had the cauliflower soup & Bril which was delicious and reccomended by the waiter. The new potato’s were magic!!
At one point I went to pour my wine and the waiter ran over and insisted he did it! Honestly you don’t get many restaurants and staff like this in London.
Can’t wait to come back!
Beautiful restaurant by the river, the outdoor seating is great on a nice day. All the dishes were great especially the gnocchi and fish!
Next Autumn Sam's Waterside Restaurant will be opening near us in Brentford so we went to his Hammersmith Riverside one to see what to expect. It was delightful, great position and ambience, friendly, efficient staff and wonderful food.
I booked a table for dinner for my girlfriend's birthday, hoping I could get a table with a view of the river. Not only did we get a fantastic table facing the river but we also had complimentary cocktails and an extra dessert with a happy birthday candle.
The food was exceptional, Michelin star level to be honest (trust me, I'm French :) and the staff was friendly and professional.
We will definitely be back, congrats to Sam for such a fantastic place!
PS: the Dover Sole filet was impeccable
Great ambience and food. We loved the exquisitely cooked hake, the tender and flavourful roast, and the super fresh oysters. The only dish we didn’t like so much was the scallops. The fruity sauce with passion fruit overwhelmed the delicate flavour of the scallops. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday lunch.
Excellent food and service. I’m sure that I will revisit on my next trip to London.

Had a lovely evening at Sam’s Riverside last night. Warm welcome, great, attentive service from a lovely waiter, the best jersey oysters, creative cocktails and delicious, well presented mains. The ambience was buzzy and I loved the Birthday dessert. Thanks very much.

I had Beetroot & Buttermilk Gazpacho, Dill, Cucumber, Hen's Egg (V) which was so tasty and full of great flavours.
Followed by hot smoked salmon salad which was a real summer lunch joy. Not normally a pudding person I relented and enjoyed a rhubarb pavlova.
The food was accompanied by some wonderful wines from Ellis wines. Standout was a fresh Albariño zesty which complimented the food.

Really enjoyed lunch at this relaxing, welcoming waterside restaurant, with a menu of original starters, mains and small plates. There are enough options to satisfy everyone, but especially if you enjoy seafood sourced from Scotland and Ireland. Vegan and vegetarian options also available. Good wine list, cocktails too. A private dining room is available for your party. Recommended.
