I cannot rave enough about this amazing place. From the moment we walked in to the minute we left, the attention, service, and of course the food was perfection. A gem, not to be missed. I love that it has a small, seasonal menu, making the most of the best ingredients on offer. Being able to see one of the chefs making the beetroot ravioli was a highlight! We will be back, over and over again.
Legare is an excellent Italian restaurant known for its delicate and beautifully presented dishes. However, the kitchen management needs improvement, as the speed of service is unacceptably slow. The menu features bold choices of ingredients, including fowl and sardine. The sardine spaghetti stands out as a surprising highlight, showcasing the chef's creativity. A visit to Legare is worth it, especially if you're not in a hurry. The Michelin recommendation is well-deserved, as the restaurant consistently delivers in terms of flavor and quality.
The service was excellent, from the moment we arrived we were kindly welcomed, our waiter was really amazing and lovely. The food is great, the menu is very small, prices a bit high but in line with high quality. Food presentation is Michelin Star level. My wife wanted to order something not in the menu and they were super open and prepared exactly the pasta and sauce that she wanted. Fully recommended.

More on the fine dining side this place features freshly hand made pasta and Italian inspired small dishes.
I loved the atmosphere and opened kitchen. But while food was good for the price you pay you’d expect a bit more. My pasta was unfortunately slightly undercooked, 1 min before al-dente. Fish and aioli is always a winner, everything was well made but again not as much of the upscale you’d expect.
They work a lot on the wine list and I’d recommend to ask your host about it . Some options are really good.
Let me start by how welcoming the staff is at Legare. We mistakingly booked an appointment for a week later & despite being fully booked, they managed to find us a lovely outdoor table to enjoy our dinner. The service was very fast and the staff was very helpful and friendly throughout. The food was incredible! We had:
- Charred white peach salad
- Focaccia and olive oil (melted in my mouth)
- Risotto Nero (must try)
- Tagliatelle w/ chicken liver
- Cannoli w/ hazelnut (I’ll be thinking of this dish for a while)
- Fresh lemonade juice
Can’t recommend this enough! All dishes we had are highly recommended. Will definitely be back!
I had saved Legare in my 'must-try' list for a while. Yet, despite living just 10 minutes away, I never really noticed it. The restaurant is somewhat hidden, adding to its allure.
This weekend, I had the pleasure of visiting Legare with my parents and my boyfriend. Despite its small size, the restaurant has a cosy and charming atmosphere. The manager warmly welcomed us and ensured we had a pleasant experience throughout the evening. The service was really great.
Food-wise, everything we tried was both delicate and delicious. The starters were diverse and intriguing: we tried vitello tonnato, crostini with tallegio and fig/honey, and a special: Sardinian mint culurgiones with a tomato sauce. Each starter was a hit, bursting with flavor. However, when it came to mains, we felt slightly limited with only three pasta/risotto options. Most of us opted for the leek/pancetta risotto, which was delightful, while one chose the beetroot ravioli with goat cheese in a brown butter sauce. For dessert, we tried pistachio/vanilla cannolis and a chocolate cremoso. The portions were quite small, which was appreciated after a generous dinner.
I will definitely visit again. If you're looking for a high-end Italian experience, I highly recommend this address!
One of the most amazing meals I have in London. Food and service is better than most 1 Michelin restaurant. Thumbs up
To the team behind this little place. Loved it
Very good food and service. Would highly recommend. Oddly, there was only one secondi dish (fish, so no meat dish), which some might find overly restrictive.
I’m still thinking about the pasta and risotto I had here a few months ago. Incredible service with staff who really know what they’re talking about and are so knowledgeable about the food and how it’s made, which makes such a difference.
A true hidden gem! A small but interesting menu. The pasta was delicious. The quality and flavour explosions were out of this world. The staff were very helpful and lovely. I will definitely be returning!
I had such an amazing evening at Legare! The staff were so welcoming and helpful, in particular Alice and Jamie. Alice really took the time to explain the dishes in detail and pair them with complimenting wines. Food and presentation 10/10, I will definitely be going back 😊
P.s if you visit in the evening you can catch the stunning sunset that falls behind tower bridge!
The authentic and delicious Italian food here made my birthday lunch perfect. Their daily special: spaghetti alla chitarra w/ brown crab butter was particularly outstanding.
Awesome service, ambiance and even better food! This was our favorite meal of our entire trip. We got referred here by some fellow travelers and they weren’t wrong. The menu is fairly small because it’s ever changing with the best local and in house ingredients available and they nailed it on our visit. Can’t recommend it any higher and if you enjoy a great meal, you need to put this place on your list of must go to restaurants!
Absolutely exquisite Italian fare - the gnocchi and the pappardelle were some of the best we’ve had in London (and I was dining with Italians!), and the service was top notch. Truly a hidden gem, can’t wait to be back.
Came back for dinner and it was just as amazing as previous times. The tagliatelle burro alici and the beetroot gnocchi were outstanding, and the garlic focaccia and the gnocchi were great too.
Great food though not the cheapest, ate here for 2 people we got 2 pasta dishes, 1 starter, 3 oysters and bread, total came to be 90£.
The pastas are priced at 21£ which is a bit steep considering the portions aren’t that big. Though I would recommend the wild garlic risotto, it was fantastic.
The oysters were subpar especially for 5£ per oyster they were a bit small and one of them had lots of pieces of shell. The burrata was under seasoned, would not recommend it.
Lovely local gem! One of the few independents in a sea of nationally owned chains. Great cozy atmosphere, friendly staff and high quality food!
Visited in 2022 and can’t stop talking about it! The staff is different level. Not only that they’re kind, accommodating and knowledgeable, happy to answer any question and attend to any need. They seem to get energy from interacting with their guests making the atmosphere so very welcoming and warm. Standard of the food matches the quality of the service here. Beautifully tasteful interior. Value oozing from every bite, sight and smile.
Amazing food and super amazing service by Roya!
Focaccia is a must try and so is Burrata.
