Saw this restaurant on Google Maps while looking for a new breakfast spot - and I’m SO glad I did!
The manager was super accommodating and the waitress was on the ball.
We ordered iced lattes (other milk options cost extra) and The Avo (I added sausage and bacon). Honestly, the meal is big enough without the added extras. Such great value for money!
We will defos be back - this time for lunch!
My wife and I had breakfast at River Garden Cafe recently, and we were delighted with the fantastic food. Everything was incredibly fresh and flavorful. However, our experience was somewhat dampened by the fact that we were seated outside. The weather was cold and miserable, which affected our overall enjoyment of the meal. Despite the wonderful food, the seating situation put a bit of a damper on the experience.
Delicious brunch with gorgeous views and wonderful customer service. The eggs on toast were fantastic, the coffee and juice were amazing and the vegan cake was mouthwatering. I can't wait to come back!

Found this hidden gem on Instagram & decided to give it a go (Even though I am 34 miles away!) & Thank God I did!! After many failed experiences going to places recommended on instagram, River Gardens Cafe did not disappoint in any way!! From the food, to the service and the atmosphere. EVERYTHING was perfect.
My partner and I are very particular about the cleanliness in a place and let me tell you, we did not have one bad thing to point out - not even the bathroom, which was spotless and they are even DOG friendly! We were fortunate enough to meet the owners Havva & Hasan who were SO SO lovely and made the experience a 10/10 by sharing their story with us. I would go all the way back there just for the fact that their passion for what they do can be felt throughout the entire place. No detail is missed, everything is considered.
We had a few different items off the menu:
- The Avo
- The Homemade Buttermilk Pancakes with Seasonal Berries
- Flat White Coffee
Nothing disappointed, the portion for The Avo was very generous considering the price and The Pancakes were super fluffy, fresh and left you wanting more (The best pancakes ever!)
The food was so good we even came back for lunch and had the Honey & Mustard Chicken Wrap with Sweet potato fries and that was equally as good as everything else we had tried!
If you want to go somewhere with a lovely view, excellent service and really tasty food, this is the place to go. It's hidden away but once found, you won't stop going back!!! We wish they were closer...

The food and ambience is really nice. Staff was very amazing too. Was served by the Paris. Who was absolutely amazing 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾- I will 💯 recommend x
What a gem of a place!! Lovely atmosphere, great views, great service, delicious food, great place to do work/study/dog watch/go out with friends. I spent a few hours here revising, the home made lemonade is delicious and they do eat in or take out. Definitely recommend if your in the Greenwich area!
Popped in for brunch, hadn't booked so we sat outside, it was a bit cold but they had the heaters on. Staff were patient and did their best to find us a table inside. We had the pancakes, Mediterranean breakfast and English breakfast. The food was delicious, well cooked and good quality. My only slight problem was with the mocha, it was not mixed very well and was not very hot. Other than that I could not fault the place. I will definitely be back I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for nice food, good service, and a nice spot on the Thames

River Gardens Cafe offers good food, outstanding service, good prices and a cool vibe. Located next to a new build, fifteen minutes from Greenwich Pier it is a great spot for breakfast or brunch. The lunch menu is dominated by burgers, fish and chips, avocado and toast and wraps. There are specials on offer including a chicken curry that was perfectly cooked. The cake selection is something special. The pistachio cake was moist, fluffy and full of flavour. The service is first class - warm, attentive, efficient. River Gardens Cafe is the sort of place you come back too with friends and family for a relaxed weekend meal.
First time going to River Gardens Cafe, and will definitely be going again soon! Myself and my Daughter both had the fish and chips, it was beautifully cooked, large portions and tasted so delicious. The cafe has amazing decor too. The staff were friendly and very welcoming. Thank you also to the cafe for supporting Greenwich Wildlife Network where my Daughter is a volunteer. A***
Nice quiet place on the banks of the Thames. Good view, especially during good weather. The staff is polite and friendly.
The skewer was delicious, but too much herbs. Breakfasts were bad - not recommended. The first was too dry and simple a sandwich for the price. Second - the eggs Benedict was cold and with an unpalatable pink sauce.
But one of the best brownies in city.

Lovely decor on the inside, service was good. The breakfasts themselves were good; presented lovely and tasted great. My criticism would be that the poached eggs on both dishes were slightly overdone, with the egg size themselves quite small in actual size.
This was more of a notable factor on “The Garden Royale” and, at £13.50, I would expect medium sized eggs at the very minimum.
All in all, it is a fine cafe and worth a stop if you are in the area.

We arrived to the restaurant 2 minutes before the breakfast finished. They kindly explain the menu and took our orders. One of the best services we have in long time ago. The food came in 5 minutes, fresh and delicious 😋. Great experience! Thanks Paris and team

Lovely little cafe with great breakfast options. The Avo was amazing! But I was really disappointed with the carrot cake, super dry despite lots of icing and tasted like it had been sat there for a while. The lemonade needs a good mix before you drinking. Lovely views from the restaurant too. Will definitely go back and try the pancakes next
River Gardens is by far the best cafe in Greenwich! They offer some of the best quality and prices out of any cafe in the area and have a large menu to pick from. I am a regular at the cafe and have never had a bad experience. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is cozy/relaxing, and the staff are some of the nicest you'll meet!
If you are in the area and looking for great food and friendly faces, stop by River Gardens and you won't be disappointed.
