So I’m originally from the states and passed by this restaurant many times. Back in NY Dera is big and wanted to give this place a chance so we initially started getting the Nihari as a takeaway. We were not disappointed. So far they have the best Nihari I’ve tasted here and for the price it is a great portion. Even my in-laws enjoyed it. My mother in law often asks us to get her some when she feels like having some authentic Nihari.
Yesterday I wanted to try and sit in the restaurant and have a go. My kids ordered a NY burger, a muchacho burger and the little one ordered chicken strips. My husband and I ordered chicken biryani, and butter chicken.
Ok first. For chicken biryani that was fantastic. For my husbands sake I ordered mild but next time I’ll order the regular spice or spicer because it was delicious and had a lot of chicken in it.
For the butter chicken- see in NY- I’ve had some great butter chicken. Like at my own wedding lol. And Dera had good butter chicken. I’ve read some earlier reviews but the thing is Dera makes really authentic recipes from what I can see. Like that’s pure butter and ghee. My recommendation is to order it a bit more spicy to cut the richness of the butter. But it was still yummy. Again butter chicken is not meant to be eaten if you are watching your weight lol.
The staff also were lovely to give us some kheer at the end which was so good. It reminded me of my moms!
The burgers were fantastic. My kids want to come and try the others as well.

Authentic Pakistani food. 😋 we visited with kids and the restaurant staff is super friendly. Few points that stood out for us:
1) taste - it was simply delicious. Must come if you are looking for yummy, hearty breakfast options. Pakistani karak chai is must to have.
2) cleanliness - the restaurant looked proper clean and looked well in open plan kitchen
3) kids friendly - they have baby chairs to provide and good space to move around
This is our favourite restaurant, we visit this place almost every week, very hospitable and their food is the best.
I had my grand daughter birthday last Saturday, very accommodating and made sure we were served properly.

This place is amazing. We had a group of 15 come into the restaurant and eat. We ordered a variety of dishes, such as the mixed grill, chicken biriyani, butter chicken, lamb Karahi, chill paneer, kebab rolls and Nihari.
Every single item on the menu that we ordered was amazing, full of flavour and fresh quality. The service was amazing and they were very attentive. Everyone loved the food, we will definitely be coming again.
We have been coming for a while now and each an every time the food has been amazing; authentic, tasty, prompt … every experience is amazing. Staff are incredibly polite and helpful; making sure the food is tweaked to your taste. We always go for medium. Their daal and Charsi gosht is to die for! Seekh kebab, juicy and flavoursome. Perhaps one of the best Pakistani restaurants for miles. Prices are most reasonable and portions are generous. Soo understated restaurant..yet packs a punch!
Food was excellent . Everything we ordered was nice and hot, presentation was great and so was the service! Will definitely visit again!
Good food, good service however prices are on the high side a vegetable curry is not more than a fiver in most restaurants!
One of the best places in London providing authentic Pakistani food. Nihari and Haleem were outstanding 😋.
Amazing food! We had halwa puri, nihari paratha and omelette. Everything was delicious, will definitely come again!

Traditional dishes are the best here, highly recommend if you are in the area. The best nihari you will find in the area! I recommend the tea too, very good service as well.
Ok the bad stuff first: there was a leak from the roof and the manager sat us next to the table that was getting splashed! I am not shy and so I asked for another table and I asked him if he knew why?. He looked at me as though I were speaking Italian...
He smiled, gave us another table and the menus. I asked him if he would cook me something off the menu and he almost graciously did.
The food came and it was excellent. The portions were small but the prices fair and the quality and taste excellent. Definitely go, if you are near to here. Really good and I will up my rating if the roof is fixed!!
Tucking into the biryani’s as I type this and too good not to leave a review. The lamb, chicken and veg - absolutely delicious, so many good flavours and generous portions. Highly recommend!

Celebrated my husbands birthday here this evening the food and service was amazing. Highly recommend this place from being authentic to the burgers.

Absolutely amazing food. Authentic Pakistani and South Asian food. Absolutely brilliant and good quality. One of the best desi food restaurants in London hands down. I have only ever ordered online, and yet the food arrives hot and mouth wateringly tasty. Good luck guys!
