Food was ok. My octopus was a little disappointing but the pancakes, burrata and chicken schnitzel were tasty.
Service was good but always room for improvement. There weren’t that many people around so atmosphere was quite dead.
Nevertheless- I enjoyed it and would go back. Would just order something different.
The Biltmore hotel is a well known luxury hotel in the heart of Mayfair. It's owned by the Hilton group with rooms that start at £700/night. Needless to say, I haven't stayed here....and the fact I live in London. :-)
We decided a couple of days prior to check out Cafe Biltmore. It had been on my list of restaurants to try and for some reason they had quite a lot of availability. If I remember correctly, the weather was terrible and there was a(nother) train strike.
When we arrived we were struck by how beautiful the hotel is. It also gave that distinct luxury impression of privacy. There weren't many people around although the hotel was apparently well occupied.
We made our way over to Cafe Biltmore and there was only one other table seated outside in the terrace. We opted to sit inside. As our menu commenced a table of eight sat inside not far from us that created a nice atmosphere.
We were greeted courteously by our waiter and took a look at the menu. The menu has recently changed and we opted to go straight to mains:
- Fish and Chips: This has got to be the best fish and chips I've ever tasted. The batter was so light and cooked to perfection. Of course, the fish was fresh and broke off into large chunks (fish that has been frozen gets all flakey).
- Wagyu beef burger: For £18 this was oh-kay. I wasn't that impressed with it. Chips good, but how do you mess those up? Actually, I have seen restaurants mess up chips.
We had our meals and this is where the service stepped up a notch. Vinod, the manager, came over and asked us about the food. I'm no expert and he politely listened to our suggestions which encompassed perhaps going for hickory smoked bacon and maybe a smoky sauce to complement the Wagyu beef. Just my personal preference and, as I have zero Michelin stars, take from that what you will. Vinod then offered to give us a tour of their steak restaurant Grill 88. Again, not that busy for the evening and we decided we'd come back in a week or so to check it out.
Overall, a nice cafe. A little pricey, but it is the Biltmore. I preferred Grill 88 but this is a recommended option if you're in the area and want a quiet business lunch or dinner.
I had lunch with my friend there. Their bread was absolutely amazing! (Definitely the best I’ve ever had) Kale and apple salad was refreshing! And we especially love the fried chicken burger. The chicken was very juicy and tender and not greasy❤️🤌🏻
We also ordered the mussels but they were quite fishy😫
The service was great but they seemed to forget or miss our order so we waited for our main dish for more than 30 minutes after the appetiser… (not the “express” lunch it was claimed to be) it was nice of them to offer a complimentary chocolate cake in the end.
I was surprised that it was quiet on a Friday evening especially in a hotel restaurant but I supposed there is much competition in this part of London.
I really enjoyed the food at Cafe Biltmore. Though the menu is not extensive but this did mean that each dish was well executed. The portions are not large but extremely satisfying. Higher price point than your typical café but Jason Atherton has managed to maintain quality. Must offer the sourdough bread! It was so hot and fluffy!
The service was attentive and we felt well taken care of.
I would visit again for special occasions and a comforting meal.
We had afternoon tea it was amazing experince with great option of snack and sweet. Erasha was so helpful and super nice she help us to pick the kind of tea and make sure we love it and enjoy it. Theo is a nice guy who help you with everything you need i had outstanding experince 10/10
Good meal on the terrace at cafe biltmore - staff friendly, courteous, and efficient which was great. Starters were particularly good, the cured salmon in ponzu and the oysters with the thai vinaigrette were delicious. The mains however were a bit underwhelming - nduja pasta lacked that punch of flavour and textural variety, and monkfish curry was nice but again lacking that wow factor. Desserts were good, lemon tart worth going for and chocolate moelleux was rich and tasty. Cocktails were well put together and had a decent list of non alcoholic cocktails too. Overall price c.£100 a head for three courses plus a couple of drinks each. Whilst it was an enjoyable meal I don’t think there’s enough standout dishes here to make it a “must visit”/“destination” restaurant, despite the excellent service. 14/20
Had a gorgeous lunch today at The Biltmore Hotel with my brother. Food was delicious and the service, as always, was impeccable. Thank you for making us so welcome and looking after us.

"I fell in love with the whole experience! The service, the staff, the ambiance and the delicious afternoon tea was first class! Our server for the afternoon Sanj Chopra was fantastic! His details to service, smiling and warmth filled energy through the whole service, and his knowledge on every tea and food served was outstanding and inspiring. Thank you and we will be returning soon with family and more friends. Best wishes, Kajal from Kajalshealthykitchen
I stayed at the hotel for a few days and every meal was amazing! Great menu!
Found this Cafe on Instagram, we loved the Sunday Roast and the service. Everyone was so welcoming and this is a hidden gem in the area
The festive menu was nice. Nice ambience inside. Service was on the slow side but staff were friendly.
This was a spectacular dinner. Peter was a perfect host and the group had a fantastic time. He did a great job at explaining each dish and its wine pairing. You can tell he is very knowledgeable and great at what he does. The food was delicious and the private dining room we were seated in was beautiful. I would highly recommend this restaurant, its food and most importantly its staff.
Tremendous find. The food was exceptional - light, fresh, even made to order. My husband had GF bread that he says was the best he’s ever eaten. Sea bass was perfectly done. The wait staff was attentive and helpful. It’s quiet and out of the way. Totally worth seeking it out.
We had a wonderful afternoon thanks to the incredible staff who went above and beyond to make it special. The food was exquisite and the jazz singer was the icing on the cake. Thanks to everyone for making it such a lovely occasion.
We will definitely be returning soon.
