So many cheeses. So many tasty cheeses! The menu makes it very easy to figure out what each dish is before picking and the selection is vast. My wife and I went on a Friday night and the place was absolutely popping Be sure to book a reservation before going as it doesn’t seat very many and it’s very in demand.
The best way to describe The Cheese Bar is it is a rotating sushi restaurant, but for cheese! How much fun is that! Make sure you make reservations in advance because it is a tiny little place in a food hall. I loved sitting right at the bar, however the stools were incredibly uncomfortable. They do limit the time that you can sit there, but with the stools the way they are, you will likely not be able to last that long! That being said, the food and the experience make up for it. There are cheeses for every type of palate and while you pay a little for the novelty it felt like it was priced about right. I also ordered the grilled cheese sandwich which was amazing. What a lovely experience - wish it was in the states!
If you love cheese, you will love this place! It was like cheese heaven. Very much like a sushi bar, you sit at the belt and the cheese keeps on coming. You get a menu telling what each of the cheeses are so you know what you want to try. They are all paired with something, some are very odd pairings but they just work, for example, one was paired with salted fudge, another honey roast peanuts, one with a shortbread biscuit, but it was great so trust the pairings and you will be pleasantly surprised. Would definitely recommend the cheesecake, it was to die for! Our server was Prudhvi who was very nice and helpful. It is very expensive for what it is. We spent £120 for two people for one hour of cheese eating but would do so again on another special occasion. A few small negatives, you are in a food market, not a proper restaurant and there is no real reception area.
I booked their Wednesday Unlimited Cheese deal online. Service is extremely kind and friendly, one of the best service I have had in London for a long time. There are a vast range of delicious cheeses, however I would like if there was a more equal balance of soft and hard cheeses (wish there were more soft cheeses) as the hard cheeses did get a bit tough to eat after a while.
Overall it was very good, a once in a lifetime experience for me!
A cheese bar!
Great place to go with friends! A conveyor belt of cheese, menu items, drinks, wines, and an overall good time.
You can pick the plates of cheese you want as they come - sweet, savory, spreads, hard cheeses, etc., or you can order a grilled cheese or other items.
Friendly service.
I wouldn't say this is a place you have a full meal at, at least we didnt, but for small cheese plates and wine, it's incredible!
Fantastic place. Food is very tasty (unexpected pairings!), fresh and top quality. Service is discreet yet very attentive. Atmosphere is a bit noisy but it is to be expected at the Seven Dials. Staff went out of their way to provide us with cake and candle as we were celebrating a birthday. A* customer service!
A fantastic food experience! The eat as much as you can is incredible value for money; so many different types of cheeses with side accompaniments which pair brilliantly with the cheeses! The staff were fantastic, very friendly and incredibly helpful. Will definitely be recommending here to many others!
Thanks again for having us, from the disabled group with the massive bowl of pickles!
Who doesn’t like food on a conveyor! Make reservations ahead of time, it sells out. There is a deposit required and it’s applied to your bill. We didn’t do the unlimited, but there is an option. We sat at opening. The menu has numbers and plate colors and you wait till what you are interested in comes around the belt. Was fun and very tasty. They give you some crackers and water when you are seated, and most of the cheese dishes has some sort of accompaniment . Sometimes you have a wait a bit to find the one you want, as they make them fresh to replenish the belt. Also, the Covent garden area is fun to check out, and this is in the Seven Dials Market in that area.
I dined solo which was completely dangerous. How many plates at cheese is too many? Its a great place with great food and wine. Bring a friend!
The only real downside is that it's in an open environment, so noise is high.
Cheese on a conveyor belt!? Who could ask for more! Cheese was delicious. Only complaint was there wasn’t a lot of choice for large parts of the time we were there. Hardly any plates to choose from. Even though there were open for another 4 hours. Not like we were there at the end of the night. You can ask for specific cheeses if you can’t find the one you’re after but it kind of defeats the purpose of a conveyor belt of cheese. Would definitely recommend and go back.
Had a wonderful experience at The Cheese Bar. Came specifically for the unlimited cheese deal (£25, Wednesdays only) which is understandably very popular, so lucky we got a slot!
The concept is brilliant and lets you try a large variety of cheese. My favourites were the Truffled Baron Bigod, the Cornish Kern and the Coolea, which I had several rounds of 😊 the charcuterie was a bit of a miss - not improved by sitting on a buffet really - but I definitely didn’t mind as there were so many other cheeses to try!
They give you a bowl of crackers to start, which you think probably won’t be enough but ends up being perfect. Highly recommend grabbing the bread and butter pickles to go between plates.
Service is amazing - they seat you quickly, tidy your glass covers almost immediately, and refresh the cheese on the buffet continuously.
Highly recommend, can’t wait to go back!
Incredible Experience with amazing service. The service at Pick and Cheese is truly exceptional. The staff's knowledge and passion for their craft shine through in their impeccable recommendations. Each cheese is expertly paired with delectable bread , fudge or puree, resulting in a symphony of flavors that will leave you amazed. The charming ambiance and warm atmosphere add an extra touch of magic.
The concept is fantastic - a constant rotating conveyor belt of cheese for you to pick from. Cool environments. Beer and wine. Great in theory, and a good option for a cheap date night.
A couple things to be aware of: this is inside a larger food hall, not its own restaurant. It's loud, hot in the summer, and filled with people. Getting refills on drinks may take a minute. And the restrooms are shared with the rest of the food hall, and may be a bit dirty.
Very unique experience and the cheeses that we tried were all delicious. It wasn’t clear to us until we asked but the crackers have free refills which I wish we had known since we were rationing them out thinking we couldn’t get more without paying the £3 listed on the menu for “bread refill” (which is entirely separate).
The service was not that great, our wines were empty for a while before they came over to check if we wanted more.
Also - the building seems to have air conditioning but it does not work very well. It was hot and uncomfortable when it was around 23 degrees outside.
This was a fun experience. Definitely book ahead. We tried several plates of all sorts of cheeses & enjoyed all. All produce is British! The stools aren't the most comfortable & it does get very noisy, so it is hard to hear the conversation if there are more than 2 in your group. Nonetheless, we recommend!
Really good fun!
Went as a group of 4 and pre-booked a booth.
We only had cheese off the conveyor belt and a bread basket, not any of the hot dishes.
We shared every dish and had about 16 in total.
Cheese was all amazing. Different cheeses were paired with things such as fudge we'd of never thought of but really worked!
Definitely recommend
Very cool concept, chill environment and nice staff. Perfect if you want to try different types of cheeses without committing to big portions. Good wine pairing offerings too.
I was thinking it was a stand alone restaurant but it’s in a food hall, which was fine. #23 with truffle is a must. Use the plate color to locate your cheese easier when it rolls by.
Staff A+
Ohhhh I’d be hard pressed to say this wasn’t the most fun place we visited in London. It was absolutely be on all my future lists of recommendations. Sooooo many options, all have an accoutrement that pairs so well. Fun wine list as well. The conveyor belt is so much fun, but the food stands up for itself. Wish Vancouver had more fun spots like this! Thank you for having us!
