Entering BBB is an experience in itself, with high ceilings, beautiful artwork and a fireplace to keep you toasty. The interior and Vibe of BBB makes you feel very cosy and at home.I started my night with drinks at the bars in front of one of the fireplaces with a friend of mine.
My chosen poison was a magic memory, my friend is currently moving to Manchester, so I did indeed want this night to be a memory that I can remember! The cocktail consists of Portobello road gin, gooseberry syrup, lime, prosecco. This drink is sweet to the tongue with a gin kick at the end. I didn’t know it at the time but this would be my go-to drink for the evening. If you love a sweet gin cocktail then this is a must-have!
For dinner, we headed to a secluded spot upstairs with our own personal waiter. To start my meal, I went for the drowning prawn. Which is served in a bowl of lobster bisque, tiger prawn, julienne apple, caviar. The bisque is creamy, thick and full of flavour, alongside the prawn which is completely saturated in the bisque. Although, the Caviar is a small portion, it still adds an extra crunch to the soup. However, due to this dish's creamy nature, it can become a little overwhelming to consume the entire dish. For starters, I also tried the beef carpaccio, served with rocket, parmesan, truffle oil. As I don’t eat Parmesan, I took the cheese of the rocket, however that did not deter from the dish as the beef was well seasoned and the truffle oil made the beef carpaccio a little dish of luxury. For my main, I had the fillet of beef, served with sautéed spinach, dauphinoise potato, wild mushroom jus. I haven’t tried dauphinoise potatoes before, so this was a real treat for me. Sliced potatoes baked in milk from the Dauphiné region in south-east France, the potatoes are very sweet but not too milky. I chose my beef fillet to be cooked medium-rare, making the beef melt in my mouth. If you love beef, you will love the fillet as it is very succulent and well seasoned. The wild mushrooms are a little on the tangy side but are paired well with the beef.
After dinner, we proceeded downstairs for more drinks by the fire. The magic memories cocktail definitely made my night sweeter and more exciting. Overall I enjoyed my experience at BBB, the staff are friendly and very accommodating with quick service and beautifully presented food.
Price: £££
What to wear: Smart Casual
(I wore jeans jacket, jumper, jeans and heels)
Ambience: Accommodating staff with a laid back home feel. Majority of diners are locals.
Good quality but very expensive! I liked a lot the decoration and the place is very fancy and adorable. Typical of Notting Hill. We paid a lot for service fee.
One of the most extravagant and ambient restaurants I've had the pleasure to dine in; Beach Blanket Babylon in Notting Hill offers a mouth-watering menu, complimented by the gorgeous interior...this restaurant is perfect for date night, anniversary dinners and birthday celebrations in my opinion! Be sure to catch a drink before or after your meal too, they have lovely cocktails!
Food: 5/5
Ambience: 5/5
Affordability: ~£20 for mains
The place is amazing , the interior design are amazing the first impression is absolutely perfect .
But the service unfortunately is really average they bring to us first the entrance and then the drinks .
The Music was to loud in the restaurant and the price for the meal was expensive compare to other restaurant and about what they offer.
The food is fine but not excellent .
If I will come back will be just for the location and drink.
Really good restaurant!! The location is amazing, elegant and classy. The food is really good too. We went there for my birthday and we were just in front of the fire (even if it was september). It was a very special dinner. I recommend it for sure!
One of my favorite restaurant in london! this location is just stunning!! food is great and vast options of wines! quite expensive have to say but it is worth it. definitely recommend it for a romantic dinner :)
If you’re in the market for some snazzy cocktails, people watching and some gorgeous pastel hewed houses, Notting Hill is the place to be!. Beach Blanket Babylon is just round the corner from the primary coloured Portobello road, so perfect for post shopping pitstop. I visited for a catch up with two of my favourites. I was pretty wowed as soon as I stepped in. The interior is pretty exciting to say the least! One part of the bar looks very Gaudi inspired with mosaic mirrors swirling about the place. It’s a bit of a crazy mishmash, but the details do get you looking about the room – would be great talking points for first dates, plus who doesn’t love a bit of a treat out?!
BBB it used called to be, about 15years ago, when I happened to be the man in charge, 500 covers over the weekend would be the norm, none of us would waker up and get there for less that that!!! Today, things have change , it's still Beach Blanket Babylon, food still ok, but the crew is missing!!! Maybe some of you will remember the years I am talking about, when Notting Hill gate carnival was a institution and sleeping was only aload twice a month, 1 time before pay day and I time after pay day!!! I will be back there on Thursday night and who knows, I might find someone I know in the Chapel where we got married for the second time with my Dear Wife!!! As always Flat Eric...
Worth a visit for the interior to see it once.
Chic. I have to re-visited Beach Blanket Babylon couple of times cuz i couldn't have enough. Very chic interior, lovely bartender and amazing din din xperience.
Went here for a quiet, intimate dinner. I immediately fell in love with the ambience, it was romantic and cosy. We were seated next to the fireplace and it was perfect with the vintage cellar like atmosphere. The service was impeccable and the food was great. They have an interesting wine list as well. I ordered the mushroom risotto and thoroughly enjoyed it as it had the right amount of truffle. Over all, great for celebratory dinners and date nights!
I absolutely love this place the decoration is beautiful it's such a quirky restaurants the cocktail menu is insane so many choices you don't know what to choose and the food is cooked to perfection
the bartender is one of a kind, trying to describe how I will feel at my first sip of the cocktail. el presidente by the fireplace could just fix up your mood after a long day.
Beach Blanket Babylon is one of best restaurants and bars located in the Nothing Hill area. The cuisine is mostly British and European.
Went there with my best friend and I remembered that had Fillet Steak with a mash potates as a side and my friends had a Pasta- Risotto with Wild Mushrooms and parmesan. We shared a bottle of white wine as well, an Italian wine Cabernet Sauvignon. The prices were a bit higher, but we had a great time in this fabulous venue!
Gluten-free Since'93
+4.5
Great place with amazing atmosphere. Definitely not your typical London place, as the interior resembles something between a sinking ship and a Parisian cafe.
A friend of ours managed to find a deal somewhere, where we got a starter, main and a glass of prosecco for 25 pounds. I took the Pear Salad which was excellent, with my friends splitting between baby squid and the fresh Burrata, both being very good. For mains they all took Crab Tagliatelle raving about it. I took the Cripsy Duck (it was gluten-free) and loved my dish too.
The good food, with the extraordinary ambiance of the place made for a very pleasant evening. Definitely coming.
I came here probably 8 years ago and had an amazing time with my friends. So I decided to come again, but this time I feel like the quality has gone down a bit :( sorry guys, I really wanted to love it but little things as clumsy waiting staff, half wine list not being available (for white wines) and overall just not cozy. Perhaps things have changed and you are running different type of restaurant now but I do wish you all the best.
Wonderful Experience! Wonderful Party (The Chapel) Location! Wonderful Food & Especially the Service! Wonderful Music! Thank you BBB, we all (22 of us!) love you!

This is a bar I want to come back to thank you everyone for a wonderful evening ❤️
Have been here to offer my services facepainting and balloons for a birthday party , I loved this restaurant and they got an good size venue upstairs. The only issue that have stairs and no lift but otherwise very nice venue , well decorated and helpful staff ! I high the recommended !!
AmazIng service. Thank you so much for all your help making my Godson’s prom pre drinks memorable. We have unforgettable photos
I experienced a wedding here in the upstairs area and also lunch in the private room in the middle section. I really enjoyed the burrata, truffle pasta and tiramisu and was absolutely full afterwards! My only suggestion is to get air conditioning for the pink middle area where we had lunch and the A/C was not enough for the wedding venue for 100people - everyone was far too hot and had to keep going outside. Besides from that the service and everything else was amazing! ✨
Nice spot for Brunch! The decor of the restaurant was a highlight and the wood-burning fireplaces gave it a very cozy vibe. Food was good, would recommend the Beetroot Hummus and the Baked Croissant. We also had the Smoked Salmon plate and Banana Bread.
We really enjoyed the food. Don’t order the salmon tartare it’s so bland. The monkfish was amazing. Service was good when we actually had it but we had to wait a long time for everything. DJ was fun and added something to the dinner.
Just wanted to send a quick note to thank you and your team for a brilliant event on Saturday night. The food was absolutely phenomenal and the team were so friendly and accommodating - especially to our incredibly prompt guests who arrived early!
Thanks again so much for making my 30th birthday party all so perfect.
Had dinner with my 2 year old son here and the staff were so lovely and accommodating to us. Lovely building with interesting interior and open fire place! We sat at the bar and had a drink and a lovely truffle pasta dish which we really enjoyed.
Not cheap.
If you want a unique venue to go for brunch, then Beach Blanket Babylon definitely ticks the box. It is a beautiful georgian mansion house with opulent Baroque style decor. We really did enjoy the vibe and atmosphere.
The cocktails taste amazing and are so colourful. I tried several and really could not pick a favourite.
The brunch menu itself is a bit limited in choice, however we did enjoy the flavours in most of the dishes.
The staff are very friendly, however there was a mix up with a couple of the dishes we ordered (they did offer to rectify).
We got a sneak peak of the upstairs function rooms and the cave-like rooms downstairs too and I will definitely keep this in mind in the future when planning events.
Overall a pleasant experience.
Great restaurant bar, lovely decor with Antique furniture, Sculptures and the food is really good.
Good spot for brunch - highly recommend the stracciatella, the beetroot hummus and the baked croissant with truffle (the Turkey schnitzel is avoidable). Their hot chocolate is excellent! Love the decor of the place.
