Was in London with family when suddenly wind started to blow and to what luck we were near Trafalgar Square and thought south indian should be our rescue since it is warm a d full of goodness. The wait time of 40 mins is a lot but still better than nearby Dishoom. We had dosas, idli and masala Chai. It was indeed an authentic experience :) and our rescue from chilly weather.
To quench the hunger of my South Indian food, I visited this place. It is just so amazing. Their dosai are as delicious as it can ever be. Their sambhar is very well made with perfect quantity of spices and vegetables. I love this place.
This branch is not as good as the other ones I have been to, but it is the only one in central London. If you have never been to any saravana bhavan, you will like it for sure. Order chutneys, rasam and sambhar. Also props to the waiters for easily handling our large group of 11 on Friday evening 🙌
Amazing experience of Indian food. Ordered 14 idlis , meals , coffee , masala dosa and customized dosa! Brilliant .. everything was just perfect ! Totally recommend their dosa
As a person who has eaten at various saravana bhavans can say this was one of the best outlets. South Indian food extremely good. North Indian food was ok and strangely too spicy. Bit pricey but totally worth eating here. Filter coffee also very good, must try.
If you are in London or coming to London for tourist purpose or what every it may be this is the place to have proper South Indian food in London. If you miss this you will be missing a help lot of taste. Proper authentic taste with amazing service one place I visit even after having proper food.
💯DOSA💯 what more do you want? Super popular vegetarian Indian restaurant chain, serving predominantly southern Indian cuisine but with many northern Indian and Indochinese options, it's a pan-Indian affair.
The food here is just as good as the famous East Ham branch, but the service here is kinda slow; they seem to forget about your order. The interior was stylish, though, and I'm in any case really happy to have a Saravana Bhavan in Central London.
Nevertheless, with food this good, you can't really go wrong.
The place is very good. It will be mostly always crowded. Make sure you are ready to wait if you are planning for dinner if not pre booking is must (not sure if available). It's a veg only restaurant so it's paradise for vegetarians. The food is super awesome tasty and yummy. Tried all mostly South Indian dishes. The food quality and quantity is good. The restaurant was quite noisy when we visited twice. Waiting time for food is average. Washrooms are maintained properly. The restaurant is good at maintaining hygiene. The dishes in which food is served are quite beautiful, different and heavy. It was a very good experience having food here. I will definitely recommend all to visit if you want to taste Indian food.
It’s a very popular South Indian restaurant with multiple outlets across London and nearby. It’s well located very close to Leicester Square station and is so popular that usually there is a waiting and they usually don’t take reservations but it’s worth the wait. All the South Indian dishes are well recommended with taste very close to what you get in India, prices a bit higher than its other outlets likely due to the location but still worth a visit if around.
As authentic as it can get in UK :) 4 of us walked in for lunch on a Monday, had to wait for around 10-15min to get seated. It was worth the visit and a short wait after roaming around London with elderly parents. Ordered set dosa, medhu vada, business Thali, chilli babycorn dry, veg fried rice. All the items were good, felt like having food in typical south Indian restaurant in Bangalore. My parents too liked their food. Except for chutney which probably needed a bit more spice everything was absolutely delicious.
Staffs were friendly and the service was relatively fast.
The food here is highly authentic , if you’re craving South Indian food look no further. They’ve got great variety to choose from and it takes you straight to india 😍 We had the dosa and fries
Idli it was delish.
The food was nice, but I didn't understand the dishes and think I didn't make the best choice. It would be nice if there were better explanations in the menu. They have vegan options
We had some really good Indian food while our trip to london. Prices are bit on a higher side for students but worth trying the food, staff is super polite and warm. If one is living in the UK and is craving for Indian food a must visit place…
Typical Sarvana Bhavan. As usual authentic South Indian food. Slightly on the pricier side but that's mostly due to location. Toilets could have been more clean and presentable. Also had a glimpse at the kitchen (it was next to the toilet), and it didn't feel very hygienic but that's just my opinion.

Do believe me when I say it's better than most of the Saravana Bhavans in India. All the classics were great and not overpriced at all, unlike many Indian restaurants in London.
Had amazing dosa after a long time. The chutney is on demand and there are 3 types of chutney served
Coconut white
Coconut with mint and coriander
Tomato based
The sambar was really Good. I can safely say that the quality is well maintained unlike MTR which was rather disappointing.
An ideal place if you wish to eat South Indian food. Ghee Masala and Ghee Roast are an immediate recommendation. I was quite excited to eat some Indo Chinese items they had on their menu, but wasn’t quite upto the mark. Gol gappa too was a bit too salty, although I understand that its not the place where I should try this!
The Best indian restaurant in central london, specially this branch of sarvana bhavan (southall one is worse)
Quality of food and staff’s service is exceptional.

Why does a simple idly, Sambar and chutney hit you so different when you are feeling under the weather? My troubled stomach found so much comfort in their idly and red chutney which they gladly gave me extra of.
Not general a huge fan of their service but this branch was quite fine when I visited. :) but it's definitely priced on the higher end due to its prime location.
