What a local gem! Lovely coffee (which they roast themselves) and outstanding cakes. I've tried 5 different ones so far and each has been delicious. We only recently moved to Holloway from De Beauvoir and were missing our local coffee shop, but this place is going to fill that hole. Service is great too, really friendly and attentive.
(Seconding Mr. Hardman's description.) We were here in April of 2013 before Arsenal v. Everton. VERY pleased with the food, the friendliness of the staff, and the coffee. Might easily have stayed a while except for the upcoming match, and easily have returned but for staying a distance away and it being late in our week's vacation. I look forward to returning this year. As you see, the place left a nice impression.
This is a small friendly cafe, serving reasonably-priced drinks of good quality (cheaper than the big name places). Food includes sandwiches, baguettes, salad boxes, and paninis - all freshly made on the premises. As well as the usual croissants and pain au chocolat, there are also some interesting cakes, baklava, cheesecake, and more. With a university just across the road, there can be a bit of a queue at lunchtime when the students are around, and there isn't any wifi. But overall this is definitely a pleasing alternative to the big chains.
freshly made salad and friendly staff, would recommend!
