I live in Willesden Green, and have lived in this neighbourhood for almost twelve years. I also know about Monsoon bakery, but I've never gone in there to buy any of their produce. Last week Friday 25 October 2013, on my way back home, I knew I needed some bread and was walking towards my local butcher’s shop, where I know they sell homemade bread, I was just a few yards from the store and just made a snap decision to try out this bakery, so I turned and walked back to Monsoon. When I got in there, I was quite undecided on what type of bread to buy, then my eye caught the baguette on the shelf, in fact the last one left. I bought it and came home expecting it to taste like the regular ones I buy or perhaps worse. I got the most pleasant surprise; it was tasted exactly like the traditionally baked French Baguette I had so much loved, when I was in France. In fact I might go further to say, even better. It was crusty on the outside and exceedingly light on the inside. It was a great joy to be able to eat real French baguette. I have bought baguettes from French bakeries in West End, but they do not compare to the one I bought in my local Monsoon bakery. To crown it all up, it cost a lot less than what I usually had to pay for it at the French bakery in the West End. I do hope, all those people who really love good bread will check this bakery out, and I can assure you that you won’t be disappointed.
Great bread and great cakes. I get my kids birthday cakes done here and not only do they taste fantastic but they look amazing too. I can recommend without a second thought. All baked by an authentic Frenchman! ;)
A real bakery (as in the bread dow is made on the premises and baked here) is quite rare nowadays. This is a very unique place in the neighborhood. Some delicious authentic breads, pastries, snacks and viennoiseries. The owner is an honest hard working man. Prices are under the market. A gem in the neighborhood!
