We make our way here every year for the last 4 years and have never been disapointed. The roast beef Sunday lunch is fantastic and washed down with a bloody Mary or two is even better. Could not recommend this place highly enough.

This a meat lovers dream pub ! The bone marrow and fritters were amazing especially with the bread and beef dripping! The Pork and Rib sharing platters were cooked to perfection. Service was excellent and the only complaint was we had no room for dessert! Can't wait to come back!

Excellent night, brilliant company & the staff were superb! Food was delicious, I was so happy with my steak tartare :-) everyone raved about the food, brilliant selection of beer & wine! Knowledgeable & attentive staff, manager Jack(?!) hilarious & loveable; thank you for telling my mother off when she was too busy Social-Media-ring rather than eating her food whilst it was hot! Loved being back in Angel for the night! #northlondonergonesouth

Checked out The Pig and Butcher on our last night in London. Wonderful food but make sure you get a reservation or else you'll be waiting hours! Our waiter was fantastic and we will definitely go back for another Sunday roast the next time we are in London.

A fantastic (and popular) venue. They opened at 1200 on a Sunday and it was jammed with folks coming in. We were told we had to leave at 2PM, but they let us stay over a bit until 230PM because we were still finishing up. They were friendly, the food was great, and the atmosphere was wonderful. We had a group of 5 and we were well taken care of by the staff and the cooking team, too.

Probably the best Sunday Roast I have ever had ( been there already 3x times!) Every time I think about it I can still feel the taste in my mouth. Especially I love the sharing platter, meat is lovely cooked, tender and juicy. Vegetable super fresh, crunchy and glazed. Potatoes are crispy and delicious-best I’ve ever had. Nice selection of wines. Everything was delicious. Even my English friends keep asking when will we be back again! It’s not easy as it gets booked out so make sure you make reservations in advance ( like 2-3 weeks) especially for groups over 4. Ambience is nice, clean and rather modern. Staff is polite but not over the top, just what you need. Highly recommend it.

Came here for Sunday roast (my first Sunday roast ever) and was some of the best food I’ve had! Pork was perfectly tender with crispy skin and the creamy leeks were incredible. Service was quick and I appreciated the homy, rustic interior. Highly recommend making a reservation here for Sunday roast

Some of the food was good, particularly the confit chicken. The crackling on the pork was (potentially-)tooth-shatteringly tough and tasted rancid. It was not good. The bread was extremely underwhelming (not fresh or particularly tasty). £8 for four ungenerous slices did not feel like good value. It also took an age to arrive. When it was chased up, the waitress said that it was a starter so would arrive with the starters. This seemed odd. It then arrived a few minutes later, before the starters... The atmosphere was fine but not brilliant. The room is full of hard surfaces, so the noise carries, particularly if you're unfortunate in having loud neighbours. The service was mixed. One of the young waiters was quite friendly and helpful. The waitress who seemed to be in charge was rather less friendly, although she did warm up a bit as the night went on. All in all, it's pretty competent cooking, but you're paying a hefty premium for the location.

Atmosphere is very nice and cozy. There are a lot of candle lights everywhere. I can recommend a tomato soup as a starter and chicken leg as main dish. Also a chocolate fondant was tasty but to sweet for me. We spent 80£ for two but it’s minimum price I think. It’s a pet friendly place that is very cool!

Loved the Pig and Butcher! I booked the table weeks ago and it was worth the wait. The atmosphere was great, cosy lighting, and exceptional food and great drinks list. We went as a group of 6 and all agreed it was the best Roast we have had in London! All roasts come with sides incl a huge Yorkshire pudding, vegetables, roast potatoes, and cheesy cauliflower (a must). The pork roast was incredible, the best I have ever tasted, the beef roast (served pink) was tender and full of flavour, the lamb (for 2) literally fell off the bone. Truly full of flavour at every turn, and the starters & bread are not to be missed! I would love to return and order the desserts but we simply did not have room on this visit! Highly recommend- I can’t wait to be back!

Lovely Sunday roast offering. Courteous staff & a nice way to end a day. Heads up, you need to request traditional steak knives, since they only give you a somewhat Sharp little knife.

Had dinner at the Pig and Butcher last night. We got off to a bad start when I had to ask for the table to be wiped down as it was covered in grit from some work that was happening out side. But they were most apologetic and replaced the napkins and cutlery. We also didn’t pick the best table, there was another table that backed onto ours which was higher, it meant we were subjected to another customer shaking his curly hair over us! Onto the food. The ham hock starter was fantastic but the trout was nice but forgettable. The mains of the lamb and brill were both fantastic as was the burnt cream.

Had to get a classic Sunday Roast recommended by my friends who live in the area. Really enjoyed the atmosphere inside, rustic and cozy. Amazing cuts of meat, veggies and all sides on point. Bloody Caesar cocktail was pretty good, sweeter than I expected but tasty! I also tried the chicken liver parfait to start, which was excellent. Thank god we also opted to eat some dessert, even though we were quite full, because the fig pudding was absolutely out of this world!! We had a lovely time :)

Amazing meal! Quiet, unpretentious spot with cozy, elegant feel. We were given all the time we needed for our meal - lots of time for discussion as we pored over the menu. Knowledgeable server who helped us with the menu items and in selecting a fine wine. Every dish was spot on, from appetizers through mains and dessert. Highly recommended!

overview: super impressed with all of the meat dishes. lively vibrant spot for groups of friends and family. scotch eggs 🥚: normally not a fan of black pudding, but this works beautifully as a scotch egg. crispy exterior wrapped inside a soft boiled egg. the sauce adds a slightly sweetness. confit chicken 🐔: perfectly salted. extremely succulent & juicy, with a crunchy skin. loving the kale that soaked up all the goodness. pork t-bone 🐷: quite a bit of resistance when i cut into it, BUT the texture is the completely opposite: super tender. interesting how harmonious the caramelised apples works with the overall dish. chips 🍟: fried and seasoned perfectly. cabbage 🥬: loving the sauce, but wished there was more. personally think it can be grilled a bit longer as the middle is quite hard & raw (though i know it can be eaten raw) buttermilk pudding 🍮: refreshing crunchy rhubarb. but the milk flavour is completely covered by the tart sour rhubarb. sticky toffee pudding 🍮: classic and delicious.

We really enjoyed our experience at the pig and butcher. Let's start with the food: we both had Sunday Roasts, beef and pork. Both were really good, it's tru the portions aren't massive but they do fill your plate and there are a lot of potatoes so you won't leave feeling hungry - you'll actually have to struggle to get dessert in. I was so impressed by the vegetables, I've never had them so good on a Sunday roast. The greens were cooked perfectly, the flavour was so delicate, I absolutely loved them. The Yorkshire pudding was massive and perfectly cooked as well. The cauliflower cheese is also well cooked. So far it's been one of the best Sunday roasts we've had in London. The atmosphere of the pub is also quite nice, although we found the room to be a bit cold. Service was attentive and recommended a wonderful dessert (salted caramel something something) that we really enjoyed. It is quite expensive so not sure we'll be back, but we're happy to have finally tried it (had to book almost two months in advance!!)

I see why this place has one of the best reviews for gastro pubs - the food overall was really top notch, carefully considered combinations of flavours textures and true to the British flavours. My favourites were asparagus, seasonal, well balanced and perfect to start, as well as the white dish cerviche with dashi, delicate flavour of fish is really enhanced by the dashi stock. Now the negative part. The service was really uneven. There were really friendly staff who were really helpful and cheerful - and then some other staff, like the reception staff who was super unfriendly and looked careless. Asked for a drink menu during the service and did not seem to have registered in her head. The place was too loud (the music) even louder when they turned up the music during the evening. If for the food, I’d definitely recommend, but make sure you can be patient for some lack of service at a time. Food 5, service 3, atmosphere 3.

Really good Sunday roast. Can choose beef pork veggie or chicken (which is for two). I had the chicken and it was divine. A whole roast chicken with potatoes and vegetables and a very good yorkshire pudding. The potatoes and carrots were quite good as well. The potatoes were perfect. Sticky toffee pudding was excellent. Highly recommend.

We came for Sunday Roast. Nice atmosphere, good quality of food and excellent service. Beef is better than lamb. Carrots, vegetable and potatoes are all tasty.

Really enjoyed the warm service and delicious food. I don’t think you can go wrong with any roast you tried. I always go for the beef and it was cooked to perfection - pink and tasty! They also weren’t shy when we asked for lots of gravy. The ham hock terrine appetiser was delicious and we loved the wine recommendations.

The place is lovely and the service is excellent. The food is nice and delicious. Since this is a Michelin restaurant from 2021, I draw one point down for their tables. Unfortunately, the top of the table was so uneven that with each cut in my food, the plate popped here and there. Aside from the table issue, this place is amazing as well as the food. The selection of vines and beer is also quite good.
