I came here with a friend, who already had been here and recommended I should come too. So, I had lots of expectations and nothing let me down! I loved all the dishes we ordered, well except for the oyster tempura (because I don't like oysters). I especially loved the seaweed salad and sushi. Drink is included with the buffet. We ordered green tea which was refilled continuously (we didn't even have to tell them most of the time!). We were also offered dessert on the house (we were the only two left by the end at the shop). We had raspberry ice cream, a perfect show stopper! Highly recommend this place and I would love to visit again. Reservation is advised.
Lovely dinner at Shimai, not been in for over a year as we moved out of London, but the hostess remembered us! Great customer service, great food, great value (sushi buffet) can't recommend highly enough.. Will be back again, hopefully much sooner! Keep up the great work.

It can get quite busy during dinner periods especially on the weekends so worth calling and booking (though I see both waitresses going back and forth in the restaurant so they might not pick up on first ring)

If you’re hesitant, their A La Carte menu is 50% off for lunch so definitely worth trying out their food over lunch!
Note that some of their pervious ads on social media have their old pricing. Yet for the quality of their rolls, the miso aubergine, and their deep fried oysters - the all you can eat buffet is worth for the variety!

Yesterday, I brought my friends here for a meal. The fish here are very fresh, the food is delicious, and the service is very good. We are very warm. My friends have a very high evaluation of this place, and I will come here again for the next dinner
Just wow, quaint place, a gem hidden in Loughborough junction, 10-15 mins walk from Brixton.
We went to the evening buffet, worth every penny. You get 3 rounds of food, we had only 2. Too full of yumminess, the sushi, is to die for, kids will love teriyaki and chicken nuggets. Everything was fresh and made to order. Miso soup🙌. The fried noodles so flavorsome and is filling. We couldn't finish it all. But amazing service and this is 5* customer service by the lady. 👌.

I was surprised by the good quality of the sushi (despite being all-you-can-eat). The stuff was lovely. It’s BYOB with a £8 corkage fee (we brought 4 bottles). I’d definitely recommend and go back again.
Really good, inexpensive All You Can Eat Sushi! Very fresh and tasty - fish melted in mouth and rice was perfectly nutty and slightly warm. Back a second week in a row as it was so good! Debbie the waitress was great! 50% a la carte lunch too! Only bad thing is they won’t allow AYCE if you’re alone.
Super tasty food, great service and very good prices. Have been here twice and both times it was great. Particularly recommend the miso grilled aubergine, tuna tataki and Salmon teriyaki. Quite pleased as well there are very healthy options like the sashimi salad and many vegan options 👌
Finally, I was able to return to Suchi Shimai, which I had longed for. I am Japanese, and Sushi Shimai serves excellent Japanese food that is totally comparable to the Japanese food I eat in Japan. The sushi and tempura are especially great. And this restaurant has a great hospitality staff (Mrs. Debby, please forgive me if spelled wrong) and a supremely skilled chef. If you want real Japanese food in London, you should definitely visit Sushi Sisters. （October 9, 2022）
If you want real Japanese food in London, I definitely recommend this restaurant. The tempura, sushi, and sashimi served at this restaurant are all as good as what you would get in Japan. And the price of about £19 for all-you-can-eat is incredibly reasonable. The service is also excellent, Christina always keeps the restaurant clean and her personality is great. I would revisit this restaurant soon. Thank you Christina.
Newly opened Japanese restaurant with good quality sushi buffet with a wide range on a la cart menu. Definitely a money worthy buffet. Food came out quick with surprisingly big portions even for buffet menu. Great service and the staff is very friendly. Highly recommend this place, similar to sushi mania and sushi cafe. Suggest a little back ground music would be nice, other then that we had a great meal. Will be revisiting!

This restaurant is tightly packed with chairs and tables so it is difficult to move between them.
The food was really good quality and well cooked.
All you can eat buffet is reasonable at £25, but be aware they add 10% service charge to the bill .
I recommend the endeme beans, these were delicious served hot. Udon stir fried vegetables was also packed full of flavour. Kimchi was nice, not had that before. Didn't particularly like the vegetable tempura as it was great chunks of veg. Prawn tempura was lovely.
2 people minimum must buy the buffet if you are having it, then you can order 6 dishes each at a time , then order again if wanted.
One order for use was plenty... too much really... but we tried everything and ate most. Take note that they, correctly, don't like people over ordering and wasting food. You also can't take home leftovers so don't over order as they state they charge for wastage.
I tried the ommlete sushi and tuna sushi but personally didn't like either of those, but others in my party thought they were very good.
Incredible food here, been many times with my family and work colleagues. Never disappoints. Lovely staff as well.
They make very good sushis and other Japanese cuisines. I always eat their buffet. It comes with a lot of options available. I like it very much!
Today I had octopus, cucumber roll, prawn and salmon sushi, prawn tempura, beef, dumplings, miso soup and udon dishes are very delicious. They gave us free fizzy drinks and ice cream for free during the summer holiday. The green tea are delicious. It is a short walk to Loughborough junction station.
