This place is not for tourists, it is authentic Bengali, as cheap as you'll find in London, and utterly sublime.
I'm a regular here, every other week at least - almost always the biryani :) - and treated like a prince.
Yummy Bengali food, loved the taste but the mutton was disappointment as it was reheated again and again! This was our third or fourth visit here! Trip to Brick lane is mandate and so is the lunch in here!
A classic stop on Brick Lane's true Bangladeshi restaurants. The service is at best mediocre, but the variety of very different curries is just astonishing. A win is combining rice or the homemade paratha bread (never naan!) with a selection of dry/saucy curries. Bangladesh consumes a great deal of freshwater fish so give them a try if you don't mind picking though bones. Brain masala is addictive.
Prices are inexpensive.
NOTICE: Unlike your typical curry house, food is already cooked so it's just reheated before being served (In my opinion a rested curry will always taste better).
fantastic bangla food in london.
£60 for a lot of food.
prawn bharta - 10/10
prawn w/ spinach - 9/10
shutki chutney - 9/10, paste rather than chunky
mashed potatoes - 9, mustard oil taste
papda fish - 6, ok
bowal - 10/10 fish, 7/10 gravy
phirni - 10/10, got it free. not that sweet. perfect dessert.
No frills place on Brick Lane. If you are looking to experience authentic Bengali food them Amar Gaon (loterally meaning My Village) is a must visit... they do small plates so don't hesitate to ask and taste as many dishes as possible...
Excellent food but cash only.
Went with my sister in law who visited from Sweden and wanted proper Bangladeshi food. Food was amazing and great service. Highly recommended.

Excellent food in economic price.. It says bangladeshi... But being an Indian I liked it very much
A meal with profound flavour profiles and depth. Oily spinach prawn chorchorri, tomato curry, mustard green potato and beef menzani
Fantastic! I had lamb curry, chicken curry, and something that was spinach and potatoes. Truly authentic and fantastic! Curry was just the right amount of heat to compliment but not interrupt the flavors. The guys working there are very nice and helpful. If you get the chance, I highly recommend stopping in. Portions are plenty large and very well priced
Been going here for a while now food is really good, customer service is ok too. Definitely recommend this place
Very nice authentic Bengali cafe. Good food, inexpensive, and helpful friendly staff
