Nice spacious Chinese restaurant situated in China Town. The service was swift, food was great, courteous waiters, and a good ambience. We tried their Singapore Fried Vermicelli Noodles, the Malaysian Style Fried Noodles, Hot Kung Po Chicken, Deep Fried Squid with Salt Pepper and Garlic. A bit on the higher side of pricing but, good experience overall.
In two minds about this place because the first time I visited the management were so sincere and gave extra attention to us, helped us order, recommended food and also adjusted the menu for us. The next time I visited, the management and staff were rude and ignorant, unwilling to help and could not give alternatives or exceptions. The food however was extremely tasty and surprisingly the vegetarian “duck” wraps were almost like the real thing. Food better than service.
Living in South East Asia really opened my eyes to a lot of culinary rituals. A particular favourite of mine is yum cha Sundays, when my family would visit tea houses for brunch to devour a heap load of dim sum and herbal tea by the gallon. Moving to the Western hemisphere meant replacing dumplings for hipster eggs, bacon and avocado on toast. Not as bad as you can imagine but it goes without saying that I truly miss my Asian Sunday fix.
As I saw in a review here "you know you're in a good chinese restaurante when it is filled with locals". Agree on that, when inside it feels you're in a chinese atmosphere and the food was great! Although it's not my favorite type of food it was a good try and certanly appreciatte it more now. Worth it.
You know you've found a good Chinese restaurant when it's filled with Chinese diners! Impressed with the choice of menu options. Quite a reasonably priced restaurant of high quality in Chinatown. The meals really filled us up and it was evident the dumplings were freshly made and really tasty....
Great dim sums! My favorite were the prawn dim sum and the crab meat cakes in a wonderfull broth! For those who like pork (not really my case..), great options too!
Best dim sum ever! I've had a lot of dim sum in my life and traveled to many places to eat dim sum - this was the best. Their cheung fun is so good, i would go back just for that.
Probably one of the better restaurants in China town. It serves decent food at an affordable price. Do try the black been ho fun noodles and the salt and pepper pork chop. Mhmmmm
This is our go-to restaurant in Chinatown. Always busy, relatively fast service. Decent food - I won't say it's the best quality but it never goes too wrong at the Golden Dragon
My go to place for dim sum. Super authentic and yummy. The atmosphere is rushed but hey it's a Chinese restaurant! Try the cheesy garlic clams and the fried prawn dumplings.

Good value. The food is authentic and ranges from a 'meh' to excellent depending on what you order. The prices are quite reasonable. The inside has a nice atmosphere. One or two orders sometimes get lost; there are two floors and the place tends to be busy at times. Food can take 20 minutes to 50 minutes to arrive at the table. The servers don't smile that much but you can't really blame them if you look at the amount of tables they have to attend to.

Big and busy restaurant in Chinatown. This could well be the ASDA of Chinatown's many Chinese restaurants - huge, popular, busy, lots of choice but with only just enough quality to pass your basic standards of acceptability.
Two big floors make this a very busy restaurant and as a result the service can be a little impersonal. Many staff are required to cover such a big floor and with a 15% service charge automatically tacked onto every bill there is no incentive for them to be pleasant. And with so many customers - and I'll bet very few regulars - it cannot be easy for the staff to keep up the smiles or give you the prompt service you might expect in a smaller venue. Please don't turn your back on my when processing my credit card...
The service wasn't atrocious though, the food came in reasonable time and there were no mistakes. I was greeted and given a thank you when leaving so let's not get too critical - these are the realities of huge eateries...
The food was okay and the portions generous though not remarkable in any way - but I couldn't fault it apart from the lack of any spark of deliciousness. And at least when a restaurant's busy you know you're unlikely to get a dish that has been sat for hours waiting for someone to request it. I will find fault with the house wine however - avoid at all costs, it really is the cheapest of the cheap and might unfortunately provide an insight into the standards in the kitchen. I really hope they don't use the same quality control for the meat they buy in.
The 15% takes the bill up past what I would call reasonable; but I don't think there are many bargains to be had in Chinatown's eateries... so what do you expect?
I might go back if with a large group as the Golden Dragon provides the safe option and a lively atmosphere. If you're with a date though, try a smaller more intimate venue.
We just went here on a Christmas office lunch with 25 people. They were every accomodating, and took our boisterous behaviour in good humour. The service was very good for the large group with all eating at the same time. Very tasty and perfect portions. Surprisingly good for tourist central.

Typically busy but good. What a busy chinese eatery this is, If you are looking for the hustle and bustle of a traditional Chinese you have come to the right place, it's almost exciting to watch the people move around in there. The layout can be decieving when looking at the bar and kitchen area but it is exactly what I expect to find at a Chinese restaurant. The typical oriental decorations, basic chopsticks and table ware adds the right character for the place. The service is friendly and very prompt however you'll seldom be served by the same server and may feel a little rushed if visiting at the rush hours. The food is great, perfectly sized potions and very flavoursome with something there for everyone, we could not fault their cuisine, and the set menus looked good value. The wine list was what you would expect to find in any restaurant but was nicely priced. A big thumbs up for this place, visited twice in a week end and actually planning to organise a small gathering there, however if you're looking for something with less chatter and clatter or something with a little more swish then this place might not be for you.

If you want authentic and cheap Chinese food then this is the place to go! We went for Dim Sum with a friend and I have to say the food was really tasty. It's quite crowded so make sure you go early. Really recommended.
This one is a wonderful experience for it's absolutely delicious dim sum offering. The service is pretty good and the staff is quite warm and friendly as well. The ambience is beautiful and the food is just excellent. This particular place is the best Chinese restaurant in the location. I had the experience of visiting this place recently and it was quite a decent one. This is a huge place and thus can accommodate a large crowd. The food was excellent and the service was quite decent as well. The ambience was good and over all I enjoyed coming to this place and would love to come back again.
We were quite annoyed not getting a table at two previous restaurants so thought of dropping in the first place in the locality. We were quite happy and getting a table right away but understood the logic when we faced the rushed service. On to the food, our order tasted pretty good and we were satisfied with the charges (twenty pounds each) too which only seemed appropriate even after the service charge. Not bad.

For my first experience of dim sums in this city, i found this place to be above my expected standards. We started with half roast duck and it was so rich in its texture, extremely delicious! Then came our steamed dim sums which were so delectable especially their Shanghai dumplings. Our mains consisted of aubergine clay pot. Every dish was giving big competition yo the previous one. The place offers Chinese cuisine and we visited this place for a pre-theater meal. Despite there being a queue we were seated in about 10 minutes, which was extremely hospitable. I, on a recommendation of a few people, visited this restaurant and must say that it was pretty good decision. The place is quite a large one and was almost packed when I went there. I had the ribs which I found to be decent but I would recommend you to try their prawn in ginger. The menu was quite extensive and the portions served were quite large and I had a wholesome meal.

This place made our night wonderful.They managed our large group of people wonderfully.We were seated in their upstairs area and the service from our entry to the end of the dinner was absolutely great.The waiting staff was efficient, cordial and helpful.

It was about eleven at night when we reached this area and found this to be the only place open, We did not have very high expectations but were pleasantly surprised by the very delectable taste of all the dishes we ordered which is saying a lot since both my friend and I are very particular about the quality. This place serves very authentic food! Depending on what one orders it can be a good to excellent! The atmosphere is quite pleasant and enjoyable. The service is a bit poor at times as the orders can get lost and the waiters take a while to come take the order too. The prices are however reasonable.
This place is big in size and appears to be very poplar as it is very crowded.
They have a lot of choice on their menu, however it is the standard options. As it is so big and houses two floors, it sort of disrupts the service and it can often be very impersonal. They aren't very pleasant and it can be a put off.

The decor internally is very oriental and traditional. The tableware adds to the charm of this place. The service in my opinion, was very friendly and helpful. They are rather quick. There are three restaurants here in the area that serves Chopsticks. This place has been on my list since a long time. Although there are many dishes that this place cooks extremely well and tastes delicious, i would recommend trying their Vietnamese dish called Banh Cuon, it is a rice noodle roll kind of a dish, very delicious!
I love coming to this place regularly for dim sums. They have great flavours, and are really authentic in taste. I also recommend the cheesy garlic clams and fried prawn dumplings if you come here. I went here couple of days back and I was very much delighted by the authenticity of the food that they were offering. I went to this place last night. The food was quite delectable but the service was very unpleasant, which could be due to the place being packed with over a hundred people. The food, however, was brought forward within a matter of minutes and piping hot. We were not made to rush even though there were a lot of people. The portions of the food were generous and enough to take home for lunch the next time. Beautiful decor and a bustling ambiance. Will definitely recommend this place.

The special fried rice is divine, the dim sum is great, as are the meat dishes. In fact, I have never been disappointed with a dish at Golden Dragon because the food is always so flavoursome. The atmosphere is good and the place is always buzzing!

We have been in Chinatown and have enjoyed a delicious Chinese meal. The restaurant was pretty full hence it was not a quiet dining but much more a hectic atmosphere however the taste was great.

We came for lunch on Sunday and only had to wait in the queue for 5-10 minutes. Between the two of us, we shared the har gau, prawn and chive dumplings, pork sui mai, pork spare ribs, prawn cheung fun, fried taro, stir fried hor fun with beef and custard buns. The restaurant is consistently busy, the service is quick and no fuss and it's a decent place to come for authentic dim sum!

Great food and good atmosphere.
We had crispy duck, which was pulled at the table, smoked chicken/chili, chicken with cashew nuts and fried noodles with shredded chicken. Our family shared everything, and all of it was tasty and well made.
Wonderful and helpful staff, was able to accommodate our son who was in a wheelchair. Not fully accessible but they had a ramp to get our son into the restaurant and allowed us to use the restroom on the same floor. They were able to modify our requested dishes according to our dietary preferences. Everything we ordered was delicious. We had the Malaysian style stir fried morning glory, special rice noodle roll, Yee Mein with crab meat, and egg tarts for dessert.
Tables are clean food portions are massive for its price. Definitely my new favourite spot to eat when I’m in China Town! Staff members were also very nice. Definitely make sure to order their Cheung Fun dish available before during the morning

This is my go-to place, at any time, dinner or lunch, when in Chinatown. The aromatic duck for which I always go for is delicious, and there isn't one single item on the menu that isn't! All food is well prepared, cooked, fresh, well presented, and delicious. The cherry on top is the price, and the average price per person comes up to £20. One leaves well stuffed and most likely bringing some takeaway left over as it's very well portioned.
I particularly enjoy going with the family, sharing different dishes between adults and kids.
The atmosphere is idyllic. The building is well soundproof, so one could never imagine from the inside all the confusion and commotion going on outside. Service is very quick and efficient.
I last dined at this place in 2016. Had good vibes. So I decided to make a solo repeat visit on my recent trip to London. I ordered the crispy seaweed and soya chicken rice. The seaweed is flavorful but it is served a tad too cold. Nevertheless it tastes good. The chicken is good and the portion is big. For dessert I ordered the sesame rice balls. Taste is good. Overall experience is positive. Customer service is average. But if you need to get a good meal, give this place a try.
Whenever I return to the UK, I make sure to satisfy my Chinese food craving by visiting the restaurant. Typically, I opt for walk-in service, and while the only drawback is a 10-minute wait in line, it's definitely worth it.
just mind-blowing!!! the dimsums are beyond amazing and the service was fast and attentive. such a shame that tea was not included, but was offered to us from the beginning and then we had to pay £2 per person at the end.
Houston, Tx has its own Chinatown but London’s Chinatown is pretty legit. We ordered the fried pork belly, pork Somai, and Peking duck with pancakes. Very delicious.

Very good customer service here, and lovely traditional decor. The menu is huge and the restaurant offers very authentic Chinese food. They also have a separate dim sum menu. We got some jasmine tea, crispy pork belly, choi sum vegetables in garlic sauce, and char siu pork cheung fun. Our server misheard and gave us three portions of rice instead of two, and that was too much for us to finish.

A very good Chinese restaurant in the heart of London's Chinatown district The restaurant is spacious although the decor could be refreshed. The food is delicious, at a price comparable to establishments around. We took several different dishes and tried with friends, treating each other, everything was very tasty. Service efficient but somehow so sad. Despite the very large number of customers, we did not wait long.

If you're going for the dim sum, please note they run out of them around lunch.
Dish sizes vary. Some are rather small (like the soups), while others are more than enough for one person (like the noodles). You really gotta look at other tables to see what they're getting.
Crowd is very mixed (local and tourist), which is a good sign.
My only issues were the time it took for the food to arrive, which was around 25 minutes. Granted, the restaurant was busy. And the prices were higher than I expected.
