Best home cooked food this side of London.
I used to live in Hither Green and work in the Queen Elizabeth close by.
Each time after a very long shift this is the place I would come to for a special treat.
This place is family owned and has been around for what seems like forever.
When you visit you will notice that is mostly the Family that is doing the cooking, with the Matriarch in the background overseeing the whole process.
Regarding the food, I mean where to start? Their pasties are home made, none of that frozen stuff, and dumplings are made daily and in a variety of flavours.
My go to dish was the oxtail and butter beans, but their curried goat was a close second. The rice and peas were out of this world....
They do a great jerk chicken and there is a daily cooking of various types of fish with a vast variety of sides to accompany, such as greens, veg curries and the like.
One final thing to mention is the fact that I have been in this establishment when very poor and destitute people have come in for a feed and they have been treated like kings, with a full spread of food to feed them. Anyone can come in if they are poor and hungry and these, God's real people, will do their duty towards their brothers and sisters, and offer sanctuary and respect to those that need it the most.
My advice is to go there and try EVERYTHING
Love this place, the atmosphere is very nice, food is just your mother made it. I highly recommend breakfast, brunch, and dinner. They also do from your Herbal Teas and chocolate to all types of Coffees., even cold drinks!

I am a frequent customer and have been for 12 years. Friendly and polite customer service is amazing. Feel like part of the family. Food is amazing every time, from the peppered steak to fried fish and the patties are fresh. Always busy which says the food is in high demand! Love them xx
Born Jamaican 🇯🇲, All of the foods that I have tried as been excellent in taste, still trying to keep the original seasoning (please don't change), portions just right, excellent price increase, delivery and waiting time good, keep it up.
Ps. This is a small premises, friendly service, parking ok, wheelchair accessible.
Delicious authentic food but the service can be painfully slow at times and some of the front staff are a little miserable. HOWEVER the food is amazing which is why it's always packed! To avoid the long waits, call ahead and collect or order a delivery.

I've been coming here for years and will always return, as the quality of the food is consistent. You can park for free outside and they accept card (£10 min) and cash.

Great place to get some lunch or dinner. The staff is friendly and helpful. Patties are some of the best around town ( subjective I know....) love their soup especially the chicken. They have a nice collection of teas that I would recommend trying out. Some decent cakes for pudding
Great food. Well organised. Off street parking near shop. Polite and friendly place. A bit of a wait on a Saturday evening . But all good.
