My local Indian on Seven Sisters road was closed so I ventured further to this place after finding it on Google.
I’m blown away - affordable, tasty, great portion size and they also gave me a free curry and poppadum as we ordered so much.
Highly recommended.
Just want to recommend The Taste of India 160 Essex Road - since we ate there last night and often have home delivery too - can honestly say food is always very good and service too.
We took a friend who was really impressed. It is reasonably priced and very clean and comfortable seating - well worth a visit.
Wonderful food, a vast and varied menu, traditional - and contemporary too. Very helpful and attentive service. Can't wait to go back - it's excellent.
Great tastey food, nice staff the service is quick and great. I would definitely recommend trying there food i will definitely go again.

we always order from hear, the food is always fresh and delicious, we use to use carnafully in chirch street but since it’s change of management and chefs the food is not as good as it use to be. so when we found out about taste of india we had been recommended by a friend so we gave it a try and we can hand on heart say that not a-lot of indian restaurants can top or match it.. by far the best around, if its a old authentic indian taste your looking for you have to try them.
The name is spot on as well…TASTE OF INDIA…..Love it❤️

It's been a number of years since I have been to th state of India and although they have had an a staff change, and the the interior has had a refit and the small bar at the entrance has moved. I felt the restaurant has moved forward and the refurbishment has had a positive effect as the atmosphere was good and the food and service was amazing. Please try this restaurant as I forgot years ago what made it brilliant and the meal was amazing. Not packed out like Upper Street, but that's a good thing!

Very good hospitality and service. Food was equally the same. Would definitely recommend if you’re interested in Indian food.
Very fussy about Indian restaurants, but have to say that I very much liked this one! Nice Decor, pleasant music (being Indian, tried to guess the film that the songs were from) and quite clean. Service was fast and non-intrusive, food was delicious and reasonably priced - about £35 for two...but watch the alcoholic drinks, that may sting a little.

Lovely place to eat and the atmosphere is exquisite. Staff are extremely friendly and food is above excellent. Would definitely want to go there again. One of the best restauants I've ever eaten from with my family.
Food vs Cost this restaurant is fantastic value for money. A great spot for a weekday meal. The service is great, the food is simple and authentic and is delivered promptly. We're frequent customers and will continue to be.
