What a gem!!! The service was excellent, like a well oiled machine. Everyone working had a great knowledge about the food and drinks and went to great lengths to make all visitors feel welcome.
The food is on another level, hard to comment. As the kitchen is open you can see the compassion and care that is put in every dish. Can’t fault any of the dishes we had but have to highlight the mutton chops. Melt in the mouth comfort food. Guys you’ve knocked it out of the ballpark!!!
All of the food is amazing. The chefs are brilliant with their use of flavors & textures. You can order family style and share the appetizers and entrees, but save room for your own dessert. Be adventurous or play it safe, there is something for all palates. The staff was outstanding and extremely friendly and accommodating. I love this place and would recommend it to everyone.
Had to try the Climpson’s Arch location after going to the original Brat, one of our favourite restaurants in London. Great ambiance, located in one of the archway viaducts, with outdoor and indoor seating. The menu changes daily, and you’re asked to take a picture at the door before you’re seated. We sat at the bar in the back of the restaurant which was lovely. Ordered the side bread & butter, roasted leeks, steak tartar, and chicken rice. Everything was delicious, but we probably wouldn’t order the steak tartar again. The cocktails were light and paired well with the food, we each got the old friend and arch negroni. Overall, I would definitely come back to this location.
This isnt really a 'small plates' restaurant but it really isn't an 'individual' plates restaurant either. It felt like a communal plates type place, which is perfect.
We ordered various foods and it was all well made and well presented, easy to share amongst friends and family. The cocktails were well mixed with good amounts of alcohol. Plenty of wine to be had as well
The outdoor seating feels great, sadly, it was too cold to truly enjoy it when during my visit and the patio felt a bit closed off, which resulted in a more smokey atmosphere due to the proximity of the kitchen to the patio. It wasn't overbearing or unmanageable, in fact the smells were delicious. However, fresh air would have been preferred.
I look forward to coming back during the warmer months.
This restaurant is so so good! I love the original location in Shoreditch, but this location has a more laid-back vibe that makes it versatile and ideal for many occasions. The food is masterfully created and the drink selection is exceptional. The espresso martini on tap is also a nice touch. Can’t wait to go back and highly recommend!
One of the archway gems of London by popularity, branched off from Brat Restaurant in Shoreditch. This is a sharing plates restaurant, with a range of meat, veg and seafood dishes, with a menu that changes every now and then. Food was good as expected, though very expsensive and atmosphere was relaxed and quiet enough for dinner chatter.
Staff were a little late to serve us, waiting perhaps close to 20 minutes. Giving them the benefit of a doubt, they may have been trying to manage the flow of orders to the kitchen, or maybe people usually take much longer than us to go through the menu. It did come across as being ignored though, as there were many servers on hand.
Once staff were eventually engaging with our table, they were pleasant and looked to enjoy their jobs, offering helpful advice when ordering for the table, and taking photos for us, overall leaving a much better impression.
I attended the restaurant on Fathers day, and as a family, sampled a large portion of the menu (see photos), and can say that the roast chicken rice, a stone oven cooked rice with gizzards and topped with chicken done four ways, was the strong favourite of the night, along side the Caramel Creme for dessert. The other dishes were also good, though perhaps a little less memorable.
Overall, recommend a visit if you're in the area, maybe wouldn't travel too far out of my way to go. Ordering a moderately large meal with desserts but no alcohol, just soft drinks, price was ~£55 per head. Can expect that to double if choosing to go with wine pairings.
A Culinary Must-Visit: Brat Climpson’s Arch
Brat Climpson’s Arch isn’t just a dining experience; it’s a bucket-list-worthy culinary journey. Without delving into individual dishes, let it suffice to say that every bite promises utmost satisfaction. An absolute recommendation for anyone seeking a transcendent meal.
It’s easy to spend a lot of money on food that is just ok in london, but trust me, this place is worth every pound. The food is incredible, each dish (meant to be shared) is better than the other. I literally was mesmerised with everything served there. Please try the leeks with cheese and the bread with butter. The service is very efficient, big staff team. One of my favourite restaurants in the world!
Very much enjoyed this visit more than our first trip to BRAT. Service was a bit slow, but everyone was wonderful and helpful. My favourites are the brown crab, bread with burnt onion butter, and the burnt cheesecake with pears. Great for sharing!
We went here on the recommendation of a colleague. It feels a little rough around the edges, and the wood fired grills are definitely hard to miss. But that rough edged quirkiness works because the food and service were great.
We had a round of drinks while viewing the menu, essentially a daily blackboard at the front that you are encouraged to take a photo of,
We asked several questions which the staff were very happy to answer and elaborate on,and then the feast began. The oysters were fresh as anything, the breads puffy and crispy, and the leeks and cheese utterly unctuous. The meaty main courses had a delicious hot of smoky flavour but were succulent and flavoursome- we had the chicken and rice, mackerel, and sirloin to share alongside some phenomenal smoked potatoes. Dessert was a lighter touch but no less delicious.
Prices were average to slightly high, but imho totally worth it for the relaxed vibe and delicious favours. Highly recommended.
