So happy to have found Halal Korean food during my week-long stay in London! I ordered the tofu seafood jjigae and beef bibimbap for myself and had the most amazing meal :) I am a fan of Korean cuisine and the food at Kinkao Korea couldn't taste more authentic, homemade and delicious. The chef is really generous with the portion of seafood in the stew and the bibimbap had all the highlights of a stone-pot bibimbap! The fluffy short-grain rice was coupled with crunchy bits of burnt-rice (like the way it should be!) and the sauce was made in-house and had the perfect balance of sweet, spicy and sour. All the flavours of the bibimbap came together harmoniously and it was the perfect antidote to a cold day in London.
It's no mean feat to create Korean cuisine for Muslims but Kinkao did a fantastic job. So happy to have dined here! The chef and staff are the loveliest with such thoughtful insights about the world. I hope Kinkao will go far!
Tasty authentic thai food! My favourite was the papaya salad and fish. The balace of spice and tanginess was perfect. The pad thai could be a bit more tasty to my liking, but other than that everything was amazing! Definitely would come back!
Ordered mixed starters, tom yum soup and pad thai. All 3 dishes were delicious especially enjoyed the starters, great way to start your meal but only enough for 2 people.
Kinkao is a Thai restaurant, located in Brick Lane, which is more renowned & famed for its myriad of curry houses, rather than the flavours of the exotic Far East. Nonetheless, Kinkao strives & succeeds in bringing a little bit of Thailand to an area dominated by Bangladeshi cuisine.
The establishment serves a full halal menu, in a deceptively large restaurant decorated with carved wood furnishings & Asian ornaments; transporting the diner to the mystical orient. The service is warm, friendly & hospitable, which is not always found in a restaurant that charges affordable prices for its fare. Usually you have to give up one for the other. The dish at the front of the picture is the "Pad Kra-Prao" with chicken, which is a spicy stir fry dish. The flavours were phenomenal, with prominent eastern flavours erupting through with every single bite. The serving staff informed us that the ingredients are imported in from Thailand, thus providing a true authentic taste of Asia. The dish at the back was a traditional "Pad Thai", with beef. Once again this dish was good, however, the beef lacked seasoning, so the flavour of the beef was not agreeable to the palate. Kinkao is undeniably one of the best Thai restaurants in London, offering a great experience via its extensive menu of exotic delicacies at reasonable prices & at a beautiful venue. Whether you love Thai or just love food, this place should be on your list.
I was pleasantly surprised by how nicely the restaurant was and how well made the food was. As I am not Korean and it was the first time I had such food (everything was halal!) I can't speak for its level of authenticity. I commend the effort in presenting food in a dolsot and other visually pleasing crockery. I liked the furniture carving, you get scenes even on the actual tables and chairs you use. It was nice to look around and see different scenes. The service was good with good speed but I only speak of my own experience.
Lovely service clean restaurant on brick lane itself so stands out from the normal choice on brick lane. Clean fresh vibrant flavours. It's halal to so why not. Some friendly staff were helpful with recomendating foods and pairings. Not bad for a first experience of Korean food at all.
A very nice Korean restaurant with beautiful extravagant interiors. I love their Korean fried chicken as it was crunchy and tasty. The bulgogi was also very delicious. Overall, I enjoyed the food here.
The staffs were very friendly and helpful. The food took a while but it was definitely worth the wait.
Characteristic Korean restaurant on Brick lane. To my surprise it was empty when I got in. It definitely deserves more popularity as the food is tasty and affordable! The service has been fast and attentive. I'm looking forward to come back and bring people along here.
3rd time visiting this place and I haven't been disappointed 🙌🏽. I ordered the udon noodles with prawns, the prawn option wasn't on the menu but they said I was able to get it with £1 extra charge which I was happy about. We also got the fried calamari with sweet mayo and Korean fried chicken with sweet sauce. My favourite was the mains and the calamari which was so crispy and amazing. The noodles were scrumptious, it was my first time trying udon noodles and I think it's my favourte type now! The pricing was so affordable!
Reasonably priced good food. Four of us went. The starters we chose were really good. We had saewoo mondoo with butter and garlic sauce (pic1) my favourite of the starters. We also had Korean fried chicken (pic2) and the toppokki both also very tasty. For mains we ordered bulgogi bibimbap (pic3), my dish bul dak (pic4), cheesy spicy fried chicken (pic5) and beef teriyaki (pic6). My dish was spicy and not too sweet so I was very happy. I think I ate too much though. The beef teriyaki was nice but a little on the sweet side for me. The cheesy chicken was also a bit on the sweet side, we are just used to spicy over sweet. The bibimbap was really good I was told, I didn't try it. All in all it was value for money and service wasn't bad. I would go again.
First time eating here from recommendation from a freind. The food was delicious. I ordered Beef in Teriyaki Sauce with Egg Fried Rice. The beef was so tender and flavorful. But my favourite was the Korean Fried Chicken starter, and that was just amazing. My sisters ordered Kimchi Fried Rice and something I cant spell and that was tasty too. Defitenitely reccomend a visit to this place.
Very good Korean restaurant in brick lane. The food was tasty and well priced. We ordered the Bibimbap and the beef Bulgogi, the interior decorations and tables are more suitable for a Thai restaurant, maybe it's time to change it 🤔
We ordered deep fried prawn &veggie dumplings and Korean fried chicken in sweet chilli sauce (KFC)as starters. Both tasted amazing the KFC was boneless, juicy, sticky and tender. The dumplings were perfect size and texture with a lovely soy sauce dip.
For mains we ordered the spiciest meal on the menu. Yaki udon beef (udon noodles stir fried with beef and crunchy veg) unfortunately I can't remember the name of the second dish it was the chicken buk something.
Service was great we were served super fast in a smooth, and friendly manner by a lovely waitress who kindly described and helped with choosing our dishes. Overall very nice place to eat locally. Prices were reasonable too.
We came here for lunch, the decor was nice and comfortable. The food was delicious, especially the bibimbap. The staff were very polite and attentative. The only thing is that food took ages to come, so make sure you have ample time and don't come here if you only have an hour - like we did for lunch ;)
First time having Korean food, a bit hit and miss with the mains....one dish was lovely (teriyaki chicken) the other not so much (rib). The starters (kfc - korean fried chicken) were really tasty. Service was a bit slow but overall quite good.
Roy has amazing customer service ! The team in general are very caring and responsive. The korean fried wings with sweet and chilli sauce get a 10/10. Egg fried rice is one of the best in town. I strongly advise that this place is tried ! Reasonable prices which tops it all off !! Sure worth a try - You wont regret.
The food was awesome! One of the best Korean Ive had in a while. Surprised is hasnt got better reviews here! We had a nice dinner...
I love Korean food and the best part about the establishment was that it was all halal and staff were friendly. But recently I went there hoping to get their Korean chicken wings when this was on their door!!!! Unless they can come back with a good rating I'm sad to not have access to this place
The best korean food I have experienced in London! The atmosphere is good and prices are ok too. Can get quite busy at some times.
We came here because it is halal korean food! We ordered bibimbap, dumpling, korean chicken, and toppoki. The taste is very good, of course we would like to come again
My favourite Thai restaurant - you have to try their Tom yum soup and the Thai green curry.
This restaurant is the bar that all other Thai places are compared to for me.
It's like the best Chinese meal you've every had. Service helpful, food is awesome. Why wouldn't you?
