We went to Lutong Pinoy on a cold November evening after a day of visiting Kensington Palace & the British Museum. Though we had afternoon tea earlier but our family is ready for a meal that is familiar. Though we had several choices, we ended up at Lutong Pinoy. We opted for & ordered from the readily cooked & available meals already on display since we were hungry. We had the 3 combo meals with rice, munggo, adobong baboy, adobong manok, paksiw na bangus & longganisa. We also had ginataang bilo-bilo for dessert. We could have had halo-halo too if they had it. Hot sinigang soup was given to us as a side to warm us up according to the proprietor. All in all the food was great and hit the right spot. London is lucky to have Filipino & other ethnic dishes to add variety to its already overgrown melting pot.

Great place to eat Filipino food in London! It is better than some restaurants in Manila even!

We love coming back to this Filipino restaurant. Food is great! The restaurant can get full at times so it's good to call them before going there or better yet book a table beforehand.

This and the place next to it are probably the most popular Filipino eating venues in central London for good reasons. First of all is because of the very casual setup where friends and families usually go to after Sunday church to load up on Filipino favourites. Next is due to relatively cheap prices. I mean £8 pounds for a generous serving of a main course and a pound more for buffet! Point me to where it is cheaper please. Finally, they seemingly have and endless on and off menu choices.

The downside of any popular spots: service. Not because staff are not accommodating but simply the crowds can be overwhelming at times. Seats are hard to come by on Sunday brunches and afternoons.

Something to note to temper your expectations: do not assume an ambiance similar to Romulo’s. Saw a dutch family last Sunday sat down only to leave after they figured that food are prepared in advance. You have options: order from the menu or order food prepared in advance. If you care more for food presentation than authentic taste, Romulo’s is a better choice.

Lovely Filipino food. Reasonable vegetarian spread, close to the Earl's Court tube station. Portions are a little small so order 2 starters and 2 main courses for 2 people :-) ... Lovely staff

blog series to try Philippine food again and boy was I in for a treat.Lutong Pinoy is located off the main drag. in Earl’s Court and if you didn’t know about, you wouldn’t really notice it, huddled between the other restaurants lining the street. I called ahead to make a reservation for an authentic kamayan style dinner. In Tagalog kamayan means 'using your hands' and that is exactly what you do when you eat this way. No utensils required.

Have visited this place a few times now since there are not really a lot of Filipino restaurants around. My only advise is, go for ala carte or boodle fight menu and ignore the buffet :) I have tried the buffet twice and ok both times i was disappointed. First, there are not a lot of dishes and maybe it's just me but presentation is another factor too. Also in a buffet you would expect more choices of different authentic filipino dishes but for the both times i went for buffet, it was very limited and did not taste as good although for £8.50 you can't really complain. HOWEVER!!! When i opted for Ala Carte Menu and ordered Lechon Kawali (Pan roasted pork), Crispy Pata (Deep Fried Pork Thigh), Pork Sisig and few more dishes.... i was over the moon as they were so gooooooood. Also, one night i went here with friends to try the boodle fight menu which is basically food served on banana leaves with lots of rice topped with 5 choices of dishes, vegetable, mangoes and a big pot of soup. This is well worth it and i would rate them 5******* for this.

The wife being Filipino loves this place, so being partial to some good Filipino food I went with the group to check it out.

Upon stepping inside I felt I was in the Philippines, set up is very basic but service is friendly and fast.

I had dish and a personal favourite of pan-roasted pork, called Lechon Kawali, and this really is to kill for. If you like pork cracking then just go for this with a side of fried rice and you will be very content.

There was a buffet option given but the food looked a little old, maybe from lunch, but the freshly cooked food was all great.

I have made a commitment that we will visit once a month to enjoy Filipino food, shame there are not many more in London.

I realised how I've learned to appreciate more Filipino dishes when I left the Philippines. I ate a lot growing up but was quite picky. I'd have anything inihaw (grilled) or prito (fried) but wouldn't touch anything with tomato sauce such as menudo and afritada or clear soup like nilaga or tinola. I still have my preferences now, but my palate for Filo food has definitely evolved.

During this visit to Lutong Pinoy, we had chicharon bulaklak (£6) for starters. I never used to eat these fried pork intestines as my mother prohibited me from doing so for 'health reasons'.

We also had longanisa (£6.25) Growing up, I wasn't a fan of these Filo-version of pork sausages. However, I've developed a taste for the garlicky ones over time and have started to enjoy the sweet version.

Laing (£5.50) is my favourite Filo dish of all time. It came swimming in a pool of coconut milk during our previous visit. Thankfully they got the balance right this time around.

I only started liking lechon paksiw (£6.50) in college. It's a stew made with the leftovers of lechon (that's roast pig for you Filo food newbs, aka Anthony Bourdain's "best pig ever"). Granted, it is not the best I've had but it was good enough to satisfy a craving.

We also had lechon kawali (£8). That's deep fried pork belly for you lot. I was slightly disappointed that the skin didn't crackle to our liking, but... deep-fried pork belly. Come on. And you can never go wrong with lechon sauce.

To break our swine intake overload, I ordered daing na bangus (£9.50). This is something Filipinos would eat for breakfast... with garlic fried rice. It's 'butterflied' milkfish marinated in vinegar and garlic, then fried. I never liked this before as I was a cereal eater as a child.

We ended up getting halo-halo (£3.50) for dessert, something else I didn't really like growing up. For Filo food newbs, this is a shaved ice dessert similar to kacang. It wasn't as mind-blowing as The Pen's halo-halo, but I liked that it was not overly sweet.

Looking back at our orders that night, my tween self would have probably only eaten two dishes. Thank God my palate's a bit more mature now and I get to enjoy all these (and a lot more) dishes I used to ignore.

From a global point of view, Filipino cuisine is really the poster child of 'fusion' cuisine. It's odd, unfamiliar, and definitely different from its more popular Southeast Asian counterparts. But if you experience it yourself, you may find how it's a reflection of Philippine history. If you dig your forks a little deeper though, I think you'd find it's quite like the Filipino people - bold and excitable, familial and welcoming, and absolutely evolving.

Great food in classic Filipino style. 2nd time here but not as memorable. Service was bad; took a while to get served by the surly disinterested young guy who clearly shouldn’t choose hospitality as a career. Atmosphere ok, but strange British choice of music.

Filipino Food? Go to Earl’s Court. It never disappoints. The food is great. More on the pricey side but we are eating Filipino Food in London so it gets a pass. Tried sinigang na baboy and it felt like home. The place is cozy but a bit small. There is no line and a number of people is inside. They serve at a steady pace. Overall a great experience. I recommend going there if you have a Filipino Meal craving.

Incredible food with lots of authentic dishes. I've been twice the service has been very good. A bit cold when eating as the entrance opens quite often but I love to go regardless.

Hita home ❤️ crispy pata had really tender meat and crunchy skin. Bulalo - beef was melt in your mouth and portion size was very good. Sadly, there was no samalamig (we will try again next time) It took a qhile for the dishes to be served. Food came out hot but yeah... youre gonna have to wait :) They have a loo They accept card payments

Decided to pop in for an early dinner and was excited to try as we don’t have many filipino restaurants from where we live. We had ordered Sisig with egg (meal deal - comes with rice) and bangsilog, pineapple juice and coconut juice for drinks. Originally, wanting sago with gulaman however was not available. Drinks came within 5 mins however the food didn't arrive until almost an hour prior to ordering. Understandable there was orders ahead of us however it would have been nice if we got a little update here and there on our food. Food was tasty, dessert was alright ( we had ordered a scoop of the ube ice cream) only let down was that we originally wanted the buko pie with buko pandan ice cream but once again wasn’t available. Only thing to suggest is to add more specials that meet dietary requirements as the majority of the food specials did contain peanuts which i am in fact allergic to, as well as notifying customers what foods are available at the start rather than being met with disappointment. Overall, food was good but service could have been a bit better.

This was an amazing experience and amazing food! I came here with my Philippino brother and he said that he hasn't had food this good outside of the Philippines! We had a shared platter called "Jeproks" with garlic rice 😋😋, a side of tofu ( Sizzling Tokwa) and mixed vegetables (ilocano pinakbet). We were three people and left very satisfied! Every meal had so much flavour we couldn't even pick a favourite! We will be back.. Again and again!

Brilliant restaurant with amazing Filipino food. All your favourites here also good if you've not eaten Filipino food before. There is outside dining & inside. For location drinks prices are good value with beer being £5 . The house wine is also very nice. Tap water available. Loved it

My experience in Lutong Pinoy was a very good one. Many tasty dishes on there menu food was excellent and full of flavour. Due to how busy the restaurant was you could see why the service was a bit on the slow side , but the staff were still extremely helpful and nice.
