We went here for our Christmas Day lunch. It may have been one of our best experiences in the entire city. The food was spot on, we ate for more than we normally would simply because it tasted so good. The team made it just that but extra special too. They phoned me in the States to coordinate my reservation. They had Christmas crackers out for us, and they were all so attentive that we were never wanting for anything. We will definitely be coming back here next time we are in London.

A hugely popular place in Islington. Particularly with the warm London summer. Beer garden is big, with various areas, with an outside burger shack and alcohol tent for bubbles and pimms.
Today was busy both inside and outside with many eating.
Service friendly and swift. Would definitely come back. Great!

Now the burger wars have been raging in London for as long as hipsters have been wearing their granddads’ cardigans and buying moustache wax without a trace of embarassment. Lofty claims to have created the best burger have been made by many and countless articles listing the new and current favourites. Burgers have become more than simply a dish but a cuisine of their own with a multitude of toppings, buns, meat and secret sauces. They’ll make your fortune or break it but only the strong survive… to create endless high street reproductions of their original success.

Great to finally make it to canonbury tavern. Really impressed with the wide variety of roast and dessert options. The meals didn't disappoint. Generous chicken breast with probably the most delicious Yorkshire pudding I've had in London. Combined with oodles of gravy and vegetables, was a really positive dining experience. While the roast serving was huge and hard to finish, we easily polished off the beautiful desserts. Hard to fault the brownies. Generous serving sizes and beautifully presented. Confused as to why roast serving stops at 5pm- missing a good dinner opportunity! Service was pretty slow but the meal quality buys them points. Would recommend sitting outside in the garden on a sunny day with drinks. Take in that relaxed Sunday vibe.

A bright, lively and stylish spot in this relatively quiet neighbourhood. The food is simply amazing! Versatile menu, great selection of wines and well-crafted shared plates! The chef Munir really deserves a praise to be able to command unparalleled quality of food for such a busy setting. Outdoor space is large but is absolutely packed - make sure to book in advance. Desi and Leah really impressed with how smoothly and efficiently they run the customer service - very short waiting time, always attentive and smiling, making you feel special and really taken care of. Saw quite a few families with smaller kids - all enjoying themselves. Overall - superb food, excellent service and good value for money! Highly recommend and will definitely return myself!

Cute and large tavern with plenty of indoor and garden seating. Not a huge menu but everything on the menu is done well. Large drink selection. Great ambiance— very cozy.

What a gorgeous place! The Canonbury Tavern, part of the Young's stable is a most happy and welcoming place. Fine open plan building with a restaurant area on one side, more pub and drinking on the other but eating, not at all out of place. Also a huge outside seating offering for when the rain is not pouring. Service is excellent and welcoming. Just a lovely place to visit for whatever you like.

Great place good vibes, great service. Roast was overpriced for what it was though. Beef came in at 22 but worth about 15 max tbh. Hardly any veg whatsoever so the plate felt empty, 2 roast potatoes and chewy beef. Chicken looked much nicer. Gravy was super runny too. If the kitchen put more veggies on the plate it would have been loads better. Do more veggies! Especially if ur charging 22 quid. Pork was amazing though.

Splendiittle pub in the middle of nowhere but somewhere close to everything if you know the area! There's a terrific food selection, largers and ale to choose from and a selection of indoor and outdoor seating for those perfect summer drinks. The staff are wonderful and we've been going here for years even before I started dating Abigail. Please enjoy.

We had a nice afternoon enjoying the sun in the big and spacious beer garden. It has a nice selection of beers including ales, craft and lager. Although it’s a bit pricy for example £7 pint of Neck Oil. The staff there are nice and friendly with the service being top notch. The food that was coming out looked good. We only tasted the chips and to be fair they were decent.

Managed to get a table here on a Sunday lunchtime without a reservation. We were sat in the dining area next to the doors leading out to the beer garden so it was pleasant. I had the beef roast and my only fault with it is there could have been more gravy. The yorkshire pud was probably the biggest I've had but a bit dry when I'd run out of gravy. The servers were helpful despite it being busy. There was an error with the bill but this was quickly resolved. I would definitely come back again to try other dishes.

I ordered the veggie burger and had no complaints. The fries were hot and crispy and the burger was well dressed and flavorful. You can order from the restaurant app or through the server. The decor is cozy and Christmassy at the moment. Not sure if there was a parents event there Sunday I visited, but if that’s the normal crowd there are A LOT of children. Would return!

Nice pub. Lovely large pub garden for the summer days and nights! Unfortunately garden shuts down 10pm (as most places with outdoor space).

A great pub, large and characterful, with a big garden at the rear. I particularly love the art in the wood panelled dining room. Decent selection of drinks, and good food. This would easily be our Sunday roast go to - portions are large with lots of different things on the plate. However, the chicken and pork are both slightly dry. Fix that, and it's perfect.

During my recent visit to Canonbury Tavern in London, I was impressed by the variety of delicious food and drinks. The menu offers a wide range of options, from classic dishes of traditional British cuisine to contemporary versions of your favorite main course. The pub has a charming and cozy atmosphere, and the staff was attentive and hospitable. Our waiter, Trasios, was exceptional and made our experience even more enjoyable. He recommended some of the best dishes on the menu and his service was excellent. Additionally, the selection of drinks was outstanding, with impressive cocktails and high-quality spirits at reasonable prices. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I look forward to returning for more tasty food, drinks, and good service. I highly recommend visiting Canonbury Tavern and asking for Trasios.
