Loved it,again! We have visited London from South Yorkshire two Easter breaks on the bounce, found this lovely little pub last year by chance. The food, staff and overall feel of the place is warm one friendly. There's history here too though! If you look out the back window to the left you see a small apartment building where John met Yoko and at the end of the court yard is an old club where Jimi Hendrix first played live in London. It's so good this place we walked through the rain for god knows how long with our 6 & 9 year olds just to visit again.

A nice and friendly traditional small pub. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and good, reasonably priced food. I visit the St James's area of London a couple of times a month and always make time for a visit.

Oh the staff are very friendly and welcoming, they make you feel at home. And the home made scotch eggs are amazing. If you're looking to have a few pints in a great environment then the cheguers tavern is definitely worth a visit.

Thursday lunchtime and the Sunday Roast is on! Well done. The Chequers in St James's is a great fun experience. The bar staff are lovely efficient and friendly. A great place for a drink and a Sunday lunch, any day of the week. Beer is good and cold. Casks for those that like warmer beer. All good and great to have a Roast on a Thursday! Beef, chicken and pork on offer. Well done to all involved.

Small old fashioned pub near to Piccadilly. Nice staff with a real old boozer feel. Can be a bit cramped when busy but has nice atmosphere. The Christmas decorations were amazing adding to the character of the place. Reasonable prices for Mayfair Piccadilly. Food is also very good. One TV usually showing the racing. Also has outside seating for when weather is nice.

Lovely, very small city pub that properly represents what is best about the English Pub - (i) you are allowed, even encouraged to sit at the bar (ii) the layout means it is very easy to have conversations with anyone and be made feel very welcome, (iii) they have a working rope-drive dumb-waiter (Butler Lift) for food delivery, (iv) they have some interesting cask ales - only three pumps BUT at least not the same offerings that are found in nearly 80% of the competition. The decor is old fashioned in a good way, not a fruit machine in site. Thoroughly recommended! But obviously can fill up VERY quickly!

Regular London pub. Good prices for a sw1 postcode. Good variety of drinks, a few chairs outside and loads inside.
