It's had been a while since I had Turkish food, so to end my cravings my sister took me to Wood Oven in South Woodford.
It definitely lived up to the expectations and in fact it's one of the best Turkish food I've ever had.
We ordered the basic cold mezza platter, mixed grill and ended with tea and baklava.
I think my pictures do more justice than my words ever could.
One of the nicest Turkish places in south woodford, the fact that you can take your own bottles of drink it's what make this place stand out in the area.
Great food, I can’t fault the food. The Octopus was a little tough and dry and would be great if they could chop them to cook but otherwise I have been a few times and everything I have had has been superb. You can taste the fresh Mediterranean flavours especially in the seafood. The vibe is lovely, warm and cosy and very spacious compared to the annex restaurant down the road. The staff were ok but not particularly friendly, their customer services were a little rigid. They were polite but I have seen more friendly staff elsewhere especially at their annex. Value for money is perfect and portions are huge. Be sure to leave with a full belly. Will certainly go back.
Fist time visiting this place which is a sister restaurant to the wood oven just over the road. First impressions are good, the décor is simple (with exception to the hiddious star wall at the entrance) and layout is good, however unlike the other restaurants there is little natural like and quite dark toward the back.
There was a large party who had already ordered but that meant a longer wait for everyone else so we ended up waiting 30 mins for our food, bit the waiters were good and helpful serving everyone bread and hummus.
The food was a good portion and everything came exactly as I'd expected it to be so quality was on par. The price for a meal and drinks for 2 people was very reasonable Overal well worth a visit and would definitely comeback.
Really lovey tasting dishes. We had their lamb chops, spare ribs, rice and fries. All were really nice. The staff provided a good and friendly service too.
Have visited here regularly. They always have a table for us. Friendly staff. Clean tables. Food is delicious. Prices are probably the standard. A shish kebab will cost you £13.90 and will come as seen in the picture. Only downside was the cleanliness of the male toilet, that did not appear to have been cleaned recently.
CASH ONLY. There are nearby cash points.
The food and the service was superb. It is not the cheapest place to eat a Turkish meal but you do get what you pay for.
Absolutely delicious food, one of the best kebabs I've had in ages
Top Turkish restaurant. Lovely food and people there.
Great food, atmosphere and service!
Lovely food, great staff, great prices!
Food was really nice, but not outstanding. We've had better Turkish food for a cheaper price nearby at The Olive in Leytonstone. Decor is a tad outdated and garish, nevertheless we had an enjoyable meal. They have big tables for families and smaller tables for intimate eating. I wouldn't go here for a date night, more like family time with kids etc. Prices are a little steep for what you get, especially considering I could get the same platter in Whitechapel (near Central) for £22 whereas here it cost £50.
One thing to point out is that they have a mandatory service charge. We overheard another table asking if service charge could be taken off, they were refused and were forced to pay the amount plus service charge.
Friendly staff, clean and well presented.
Carefully put together portion sizes, that will leave you filled. Had lamb chops cooked to perfection.
Nice restaurant for date night, as the food alone keeps the conversation flowing.
Just had the best vegetarian moussaka of my LIFE!!! Such a great find - really friendly service and amazing food. I will return! Highly recommended.
Amazing restaurant, super tasty food and cozy atmosphere. The staff is friendly and professional - Adil was super nice, very friendly and always helpful.
Definitely recommended! Give it a try and enjoy great food and service!!!
We have been to this place a number of times and the food is so good. We always get the hummus to start with (with warm bread and dips), which in itself would be good enough to be a main. Then we move on to a chicken shish kebab, which is served with grilled vegetables, cucumber/tomato/onion salad and rice. The chicken is so succulent and tender, so good! We have never been disappointed.
