Great little pub with more locals than the hipsters who have descended on this area. The aroma on a sunday is roasts and mussles. The plates going by you look awesome. Service is great too. Very friendly bar staff.

Better for a pint and a talk .
Pitstop after a walk on Broadway and Columbia Flower Market .
Had dinner over there and wasn't that good . Tried the mousles and Thai Day recommendations as some desserts .
I personally prefer the DoveTail, from the same group but in Clerkenwell (better chef and better service)
notes .
not so good and not so nice service
The Dove is located bang in the middle of Broadway Market, just off Hackney road. This is a corner pub specialised in Belgium dishes and beers. The beers on offer are simply fantastic. My personal favourites are the Duval and/or Chimay beers. The atmosphere and ambiance, similarly too many of its counterparts down the street, is comfortable and casual. The Dove does a good job of attracting decent numbers of customers without ever completely overcrowding its space. This does not really go for weekends.
The food on offer is for the most part very good. To be fair, I only ever tried the posh fish & chips. Let me tell you these were excellent and make you wish you found some like the Dove's more often around London. My guess is that the muscles are probably a worthy choice as well. Do note that the Dove also served a great brunch on week-ends. Then again, eating breakfast in a pub like restaurant is never the most pleasant.
My advice: A really enjoyable pub located in one of the top locations in London. Broadway market is in many senses a real gemstone. I would visit it now before the wolf-pack arrives. Once the word comes out, everyone will be all over this area.
Enjoy!
ps: The Dove's little touch is the board games which can be borrowed at the bar by the most competitive of us (or alternatively, the most bored).
The Dovetail acts as the big sister of the two dove bars in London. This one in East London is a great place to have either dinner or some drinks. Similarly to Broadway market, the atmosphere is friendly, young and relaxed. The beer selection is wide, mainly Belgian & British beers.
Specialised in Belgium drinks and food, The Dove is twinned with a few other Dove pubs across london which offer a unique pub menu. It's reasonably priced, although the drinks which are mostly Belgium exports are quite pricey. There is a big seating area outside, so when the market is on you can sit outside and enjoy the liveliness of this great street. I had a bowl of Belgium mussels, classic, traditional, and amazing.
Budvar as the non-alcoholic beer of choice isn’t the best in the world but adequate I guess.
Prices are quite expensive as usual for London.
Atmosphere is very cozy.
Despite being stranded in the middle of the tourist trap that Broadway Market is becoming, this is an authentic and distinct pub experience. Belgian beer, well worn decor and friendly looked-after staff. Well worth a visit! #5 #40
I love visiting The Dove. Great selection of beers and on most days staff who know what they’re doing with them.
It’s a nice atmosphere - normally busy and noisy but friendly.
Just wish there were more outdoor seats but in fairness it’s lovely inside!
Both
Two of my children live within 10 mins walk so it’s a regular go to place for us.
Only given them a star because I love their selection of Belgium beers. Although, it can be really noisy and hard to have a conversation
I miss the Belgian hot dog and Mac cheese that they took of the menu. Wish they would stick with Belgian food and not mix it up
Great beers selection, always nice atmosphere and friendly service.
PS if you order the chips they actually give you lots of them ;)
Very nice pub in the cool area of Hackney. I had a creative version of Fish and Chips and some excellent beers from interesting new breweries. The crowd was obviously quite trendy, full of students and young creatives, excellent buzz in that area. I need to go again!
Review from a happy gluten free coeliac!
This place has well earned fame for gluten free Fish & Chips. As of end 2019 their range of burgers, including a cool hummus & halloumi 'burger', are also available with gluten free buns.
Fantastic that they also offer a full vegan and gluten free 'Fish' & Chips too ❤️
Great as it is the ability to combine a visit to Broadgate market, which is a great foodie and crafts market with some additional gluten free delights of its own, makes it an even better destination.
The best gluten free fish and chips I’ve ever had. Made with gluten free beer batter, it was crispy and had so much flavour. Bonus that it came with homemade tarter sauce and mushy peas. My go to for gf fish and chips whenever I’m in London!
What an incredible find on a Sunday afternoon, quality Belgian trappist brews delivered direct to your door!! Deliciously malted concoctions paired remarkably with the Sunday roast and impeccable service with a gift card and an extra beer to boot on delivery. Thoroughly recommend, will be back for more 👍🏼
Fantastic food. A good selection of ales. The atmosphere was okay. I did have an extremely loud and socially unaware person screeching and talking a few tables away but, after moving, into the rear area it was fine.
Pretty cool clientele, everyone friendly, comfy seating, good atmosphere on a Friday night, busy inside and the beer garden out front was rammed. Recommend giving it a look
Beer selection is insane here and the portions are amazing. Tofish was flavourful, great batter and distinct cod taste but the pie was more of a stew with a pie lid. Certainly recommended, staff were exemplary.
Lovely pub serving a fantastic range of beers. Really great buzz about the place, facilitated by the friendly staff. Lots of outside seating so you normally get a table. Highly recommended
Perfect place if you want a little break from the market. Big pub & restaurant. The bar area is quite lively and the dining room is quiter if you want abit more space to chat over a meal. Great Gluten free and vegan options on the menu. Order the vegan chocolate brownie, you wont be disappointed!
Up there with my favourite London pubs. Jaw dropping range of beers, super cool interior (lots of characterful little wood panelled alcoves where you can chat with friends) and cool staff.
03/11/23, it was a rainy evening I decided to come on a Friday night after work to see the Thai empress. To see if she is as beautiful on a Friday as a Tuesday. Don’t contradict me. Just as I thought, I was right. The way the moon danced off her Thai face made me shiver in my timbers. My god she is here again, in front of me, and is making continuous advancements. “Would you like an extra side Mr Brandon?”, she winks. Wind blows. Fire burns. She then smiles. I ask the Thai empress for her name, she writes her number on a golden napkin, she sells sanctuary on a Golden Fleece. I smile as I now understand the journey through which the Zarathustra soars, the sky through which my eternal Thai paramour and I will dance. I will now return every Tuesday and Fridays nights 20:00 on the dot to see my future Thai bride. Don’t contradict me.
