The Conquering Hero Pub - London - Photo album

Great little local pub. The fish pie was the perfect bite on a rainy afternoon after a walk through the lovely woods. Interesting options on the menu - something for everyone.
(Famous)Pub pig+affordable even for students+rebel spirit+music=winner. If this pub were in my neighbourhood, I would go there every day. I wish we had had something like this when I was a fashion design student. No wonder it's a favorite with GenZ and seniors alike. Went there twice on my last Lo
The boat trash was great, very filling and lovely variety of seafood and fish. The chips were okay The menu is really varied and different from usual pub meals
Great local neighborhood pub. The staff are friendly and have good bants alongside decent draught taps. Food is good, well priced, and served promptly. The pub pig Francis bacon is also a big reason to visit. Overall good place
A busy Sunday in a lovely traditional pub for lunch with friends from abroad. Staff very friendly. Food took a while to arrive... But we had an enjoyable time
A good local pub. Been going for a number of years and the food is generally good, but that depends who is in the kitchen that day. I’ve walked away very satisfied, but also very disappointed after ordering the same.
Great pub, great food and a suprisingly large and leafy beer garden to the rear for those cold and sunny summers day pints. Very near to one of the best parks in south london, this pub is a great find with a really good selection of pub food - including a lovely vegan Sunday roast! 👍Check it out. 🙌☀
Really nice pub, great options for outside space. The pig was snug in front of the fire and it was nice to see her. The regulars are really friendly and the staff too. I'd imagine it will be buzzing with a great atmosphere once everything fully opens
Really lucky to have the Hero in the neighbourhood. The taps show a great selection of beers and ciders, coffee is good, and drinks well managed. Food is a delight, from the small bite to the sunday roast. Ambiance is superb, between music and the garden. Come for the music or to see the pig, find a
I thought it was a great pub, was in early on a Saturday afternoon, not busy at all but there were some tables reserved for later. The menu looked interesting, dog friendly 😀. Our friends had their lurcher with them but that was no problem even though the pub pet was asleep in front of the firee
Quirky location, staff and clientele. The pig statue is called Francis Bacon apparently. Much friendlier (and with more decent beer) than it looks from without.
Love this pub, visit regularly. Good selection of beers. Nice American influenced menu with some good seafood options. Sunday roast is spot on. Dog friendly. Show sports on several TVs. Large garden out the back. Francis the pig is around on weekdays. Thank you to all the staff!
Francis Bacon was the star of this visit. Beer is great, staff are welcoming but the pig is a delight.
Unexpectedly fantastic and interesting US-influenced specials menu and gastropub classics with a wonderful atmosphere, lovely service and a sprawling outdoor area completely belying the locale. Friday night pints with a LEGIT lobster roll? And mussels from Billingsgate market? Yes please! Kudos pard
Nice cozy pub. It is the neighborhood's pub and you can tell by the vibe it has. Had a very nice burger and a few pints with some friends and I really enjoyed it. If that's what's you're looking for, this is a very good place to do it. Head's up, Hard to find a place if you don't book in advance.
Great food and service. Friendly staff. Huge portions, great value for money.
Their bucket of boat trash is amazing. Awesome beer garden. Seafood is out of this world. Staff are great. One of south london’s best pubs.
Had a lovely roast dinner. Menu looks very good so must go back another day. Staff friendly and welcoming - nice atmosphere. Good choice of beer.
