This is a lovely restaurant, and one of the best in the area. Charming staff and perfectly cooked, delicious food at very reasonable prices. The specials that are only available on certain days e.g. the slow-cooked lamb stew on Sundays are well worth a look. Note that the portions are vast. A lot of care and money has obviously been spent on the furnishing and decoration, which is all rather splendid. Also note that Zeytoon is alcohol-free and closed at lunch-time during Ramadan. It can get very busy at times, especially on Sundays, so booking might be a good idea.

I'm eating around the world without leaving London and this week I had Afghan food at Zeytoon in Kilburn. To be honest, my choice of this Afghan restaurant happened totally by chance as I had planned to eat at Uzbek restaurant Navrus. They however, have seemed to have closed down for business, but lucky for me Zeytoon, a few doors down was next door and open for business. Even though this restaurant was part of my back-up plan, it turned out to be a lovely place to spend a Friday evening. The decor had a real Middle-Eastern feel to it with homely wooden tables and wooden chairs, huge Afghan mirrors and tapestries hanging on the wall. There were lots of plants positioned between the tables which kind of made the atmosphere even more intimate. I was sat there waiting for my friends to arrive for quite a long time, so I wanted to stop my stomach from growling a bit and ordered a portion of Mirza Qasemi which was a dish of grilled aubergines topped with a spiced sauce and quark. Unfortunately they ended up at the next table and got eaten there as well. I got my portion in the end and the aubergines were worth the wait. In the meantime my friends had made an appearance, so we went ahead and ordered more food. I went for Qabli Polow with Lamb which was a very large piece of lamb shank with brown rice topped with juliennes of carrots, plump raisins and crunchy almonds. There was a little bowl of broth nudged in the pile or rice which was meant to be poured over the rice. It gave it a lovely flavour. I loved the food, but it was way too much for little ole me, so I asked for a doggie bag and had the rest of it for lunch the next day. There was no more room for desserts, so we settled for some mint tea that was served in a cute pink teapot and even cuter little tea glasses before heading back home. One to go back to.
The service isn't fast (Iranian food isn't fast food) but the food is excellent and good value for money. Big selection of tasty dishes. The staff are friendly and accommodating.
Beautifully decorated Persian and Afghan restaurant. Great for a special occasion but the prices are strictly everyday. Lovely food (plenty of vegetarian options), great service, highly recommended.

The food was great and the portions are large.
After our meal we ordered tea, it came with a small plate of sweets that we didn't order so we automatically thought it was complimentary. But it wasnt! They did charge us for it at first but when we clarified that we didn't ask for it. They insisted this is normal and if we didn't want it we should have told him so when he brought it! Any ways as it was our first time they excluded the sweet from the bill.
It was this incident which made me rate them 3.5 other wise I would have rated them 4.
I heard of Zeytoon through a friend who is very picky with his food so I had to try it. When I got there, I was very impressed by the service and the interior. The attention to detail is quite exceptional. For my main, I decided to go for a Chelo khorshte fesenjan, which is more of a homemade dish. I usually just go for kebab, but the vibe of the restaurant somehow made me go for something that I usually wouldn't have.
I have to say, I was not disappointed. The fesenjoon was perfect, just the right amount of sweetness and the consistency of the stew was just right. Also the portions are big, if your not too hungry, you won't really be needing a starter.

Wow what a great find! Quality Persian food that is reasonably priced. A family run establishment with care in service and tasty dishes. The lamb Koubideh and Joojeh Kabab were tender and fresh!
I don’t know what it is about this place, but the way the food tastes so on point with the flavour and satisfaction it’s just something out of this world. I’ve never been disappointed. I have a spiritual experience whenever I eat here or have food from here. 10/10
Firstly the best Koobideh ever! Out of all the other restaurants leading like kish, this beats them all! Clean tender lamb no cartilage bits like others.
And lastly and most importantly also Roya and family are just the sweetest of people ever it’s like I’m eating at a family friends home. I love you guys!

1st time trying this and must definitely say I’ll be back. The mixed grill was 5*. The rice was top mark. And service 5* definitely recommend
Customer service and the ambience here was excellent! If you’re looking for a relaxing meal, this is the place! I especially enjoyed the aubergine starter dish they had.

Lovely atmosphere and attentive friendly staff. Food is tasty Afghan -delicious but nothing exciting compared to what I have already experienced. Nothing that would bring me specifically back here though. But worth a stop if you are in the area.
