The staff were friendly and welcoming. It was clean. There was a coffee machine, bottles of water, Coke (regular and diet), orange, and apple juice. Two different kinds of biscuits were available and there was also some fruit. This was later in the day so the options may be different.
Seats in the section behind the counter are a bit worn. There is more chairs and sofas to the left of the entrance down the hall. Didn't try that area so can't comment on it.
I also didn't use the WiFi so can't say how good it was.
I would visit again if the First Class tickets aren't too expensive. It's nice to have a quiet space to stay that is away from the hussle and bustle of Paddington Station.
Its not like an airline lounge, but it is quite good.
Tea, coffee, juice, water are all self-service. Also a few biscuits and fruit cake slices to choose from.
Space is clean and well tended to. A couple of spaces to choose from. A nice quiet area with sofas, and a busier brighter space with cafe-like tables and chairs.
Bathrooms were clean and offered a couple of showers with shower gel available. I’d consider having a shower in here, it wasn’t grim.
It’s a bit hard to find. Halfway down a platform, rather than in the shops and cafe area. Didn’t see a sign, and ended up googling it.
Friendly staff, a good selection of both hot and cold drinks and good snacks. Lovely facilities and a good atmosphere. The only reason I haven't given it five stars is because everytime I've been the gentleman on the front desk has a face like he's just been slapped and there isn't enough seats for such a big station.
Clean, quiet and well air-conditioned. The refreshments included crisps, nuts, chocolate tiffin, water, juice and hot drinks. All in all, it was a relaxing place to wait for the next train.
Nice and quiet, really friendly staff, and great toilets! Food is freshly put out, and the drinks fridges are always full, an enjoyable pitstop before the underground. If they had some hot food options, and perhaps a couple of sofa's it would be 5 stars, but then I guess they don't want us to be too comfy and miss our trains.
Waterloo station has gone through some remarkable changes in the last decade with a cleaner, clearer look being always at the forefront. The first class lounge being one of the best examples of this. The seats are large and comfortable, covered in leather and designed to be long lasting. If I'm to fault the decor at all it is only to say that while it has lasted reasonably well it certainly shows the years. All is forgiven by a good coffee, and their machines here provide exactly that. Stacks of clean mugs to one side surrounded by baskets of crisps, biscuits and the occasional bit of fruit finish off the space.
If I were to look for an improvement I'd say the seating arrangement should be examined again, and perhaps relocating the whole room so that it's more centrally located to the platforms. Others than that, a fairly reasonable spot to remove yourself from the crowds for 15 mins or so.
Excellent longe
Same about passengers on the train especially at table seats putting their suitcase next to them and taking up seats
This is wrong because when you ask them to move there suitcase they tut at you
Maybe the train manager should emphasise on the tannoy the seats are for passengers and not luggage
Quite comfortable to relax in or catch up on work prior to travelling. Complimentary WiFi, and light refreshments. Some of the facilities and decor are in need of "refreshing" as they are tired. The bathroom facilities in the second Lounge need revamping. The staff are very attentive and efficient. Only complaint is bring back the delicious cakes you used to have. Also the Coffee machines have been awaiting repair for months. Come on GWR please get it sorted!

Loved it! Bought a return ticket for 6pm, finished what I was doing by 1pm and asked to see how much it would cost to return early. A new ticket was almost more expensive than my original ticket. Thank God I bought a first class ticket and the guy over the counter suggested I could relax at the lounge if I wanted since my ticket permitted me. Thst was exactly what I did. I read, had something to eat, drink and even had a nap before my train arrived.

Good service and quiet and comfortable place to await train or as a meeting point. Tasty snacks, sandwiches, biscuits, fresh fruit and hot and cold drinks. Sit in lounge area or wait by TV show giving train and platform details. One of the nice perks of travelling first class.
Only snag is there is 1 loo so often a queue and ladies is the opposite side of the station.
Treated myself to an upgrade one weekend. Lounge has power, toilets, food and drink. The only negative was the guy on the desk who kept asking to check my ticket, I clearly don't meet his expectation of what a first class traveller looks like.
