A bit different to eat in a signal box! Friendly staff and great galettes. Also the cidre was lovely, so dry and crisp. Service was good and we didn't have to wait long for our food. Whilst not necessarily authentic it might be worth thinking about having little bowls of olives or other easy snacks as options for starters, especially for evening dining. I'd have quite liked a small side salad too. I'd have paid for all of that, probably stayed longer and drank more too! Keep it simple for day times though.
I absolutely love La Boite! Not only were the staff incredibly friendly, but the crepes and galettes were delicious! It was very busy and me and my friends were still welcomed with smiley faces and a brilliant service. The table next to us, were complaining about how the crepes were being served one by one, but seeing as it is only a small place, and only has two cooking rings, I was surprised how speedy the service was. I think they have used what small space they have, perfectly! Great atmosphere and will be returning soon. Definitely recommend!! :) (The "Go Bananas" crepe is to die for!! )
I drive my bus past it every day and thought I wonder what it's like, so this Sunday as I was on lates I decided to try with my other half, we like to try as many local places as possible, we both enjoyed the food and found the staff very friendly, it was a pleasure to eat there and we will be coming back again, a real gem of a place, well done
Is it perfect? No way, but it will certainly get better with time. Is there excellent food, polite staff who are learning and doing their best, and a nice atmosphere? Absolutely. Very pleased to have such a lovely local business spring up. Have had savory dinner crepes, will be back for brunch to try the sweet!
Unreal food & so unique in the area ! Had my first of many galettes today .. can't wait to come back already staff are so friendly too would definitely recommend a visit ! Xx
Delicious food, lovely place. I've been here a few times, will definitely eat here again! It's so close to my place too.
Such a cool & trendy place. Amazing staff, customer service is great. Plus, they make the best crepes ever!! Definitely going back soon xxx
My 5 yr old chose to come here again for his 5th birthday as he loves the pancakes and of course the trains!
10 of us came and caused complete mayhem but the staff were very accommodating. Pancakes were delicious and service was spot on. They even allowed us to bring in a birthday cake! X
Would be great if we could pre-book in future

My first visit today. Small, space well used. For a listed building , they had done marvellously well.
Fantastic crepes, tried savoury and sweet, both with fresh ingredients and with gluten free flour. Delicious. I will definitely go back soon.
Great to have a vegan menu. Tried the vegan galette with vegan cheese and tomatoes was very nice. Can’t wait to come back and try one of the film nights
Amazing taste & very filling, awesome little vibe of the location as it's converted from the old Highams park station signal box. Quaint, resonable & excellent service from the waitress (Shez) who served us
Great atmosphere, music was perfect, Galette was better, tried with a Cidre which worked very well, Friendly staff, nice to see a different type of concept so local. Recommend *****
Really tasty savoury and amazing sweet, very fortunate to have this place open at the end of my road. Have been twice in one week they were so nice and recommended to friends and family. Second visit was so good we stayed and had 2 each! You can see the staff work really hard and are always friendly. They have done so much with such a small space the design is great and love the lighting. Dangerous knowing they do takeaway! Wishing them lots of success.
I LOVE this place. The upstairs windows overlook the train tracks which is so quirky. The inside is neat and cosy though very small so wouldn't want to be here if it was busy. Opening hours are great as its open until 11pm. The crepes are amazing! The staff are nice. It really is a nice place and I will definitely be returning again with an empty stomach!
What a find. Great food and service. They do monthly events which I’ve tried and were 10/10 (cheese & cider night)
Perfect for toddler train enthusiasts! ...and coeliacs. If you can make it up the stairs with a toddler who is able to sit on a normal chair, they will love it. We spent a good hour upstairs getting our little one to guess which way the train was coming from. Aside from that the food was lovely - just crepes and galettes (the savoury and gluten free version of a crepe). We went for the sweet crepes and my goodness they were filling (and sweet). We enjoyed them very much but will reserve this place for special occasions due to the lovely setting (and price - wasn't much change out of £22 for 3 adults crepes and hot drinks). Seems to be popular though with the school age kids as a trendy place to hang out though. Definitely worth a visit!
Nice local authentical café. Good menu with good variety of dishes.
A fantastic new venue serving Crepe's both sweet & Savoury with a glass of wine or craft beer or even just a superb coffee or selected specialist tea.
The experience in this unique restaurant with views along the railway and panoramic around the village will be mesmerising and somewhere you can just sit and watch the trains go past.
Superb and creative foods and a historic and Iconic venue not to miss.
Small but cosy, good range of crepes on offer both sweet and savory. Nice place for kids and to watch the trains go by. Nice photos on walls of history of this train watch house. Guaranteed to enjoy.
Unique signal box location overlooking Highams Park station. Excellent Breton crepes and galettes (savoury crepes). Licensed. Warm welcome and tasty food. Reasonably priced. Warning- steep stairs!
Brilliant crepe place in Highams Park in an old signal box. Sit at the top for a great view of the trains! Both sweet and savoury crepes are great, highly recommend a visit if you're in the area!
There aren’t any culinary reasons to come to Highams Park but La Boite is an exception! The mini-sized Creperie is as charming as its name and situated in an old signal box by the side of a rail track and level crossing. There is an excellent choice of galettes (savoury pancakes) and crepes (sweet pancakes), as well as French pastries. I had a galette of Parma ham, mozzarella, sun dried tomatoes and pesto, which was excellent. The place also has an alcohol licence, something I’m sure the French insist upon for any restaurant, meaning you can wash down the delicious fare with a splash of the good stuff until 9pm (11pm on Thursday-Saturday).
It is a real gem perfect for any time of the day. A must for a francophile, crepe-loving train spotter. Or just someone who is hungry and likes fresh, well prepared, tasty food.
Here is something different - a converted signal box. We visited during school half term for a lunchtime treat for my 3 year old grandson. It was busy with families and there was a nice easy atmosphere. My grandson enjoyed the passing of trains below. The speciality is pancakes - sweet or savoury. I had cheese and chorizo - tasty. I also had the DIY hot chocolate - chocolate pieces, hot milk, squirty cream, marsh mallows and a whisk. I thought it slightly expensive overall - 3 pancakes, 2 water and 1 chocolate £23.50 but you are paying for a different experience. The waitresses will have very strong legs going up and down the stairs for each order! Location is next to Highams Park level crossing and of course Highams park train station (Liverpool St - Chingford line). Definitely recommend a visit. They have a drinks licence and wine prices look reasonable. They are open every day into the late evening.
A charming place with friendly staff. The food was delicious, portions were large, served quickly and reasonably priced. Although there is no booking system, we got a table on a Sunday after midday for a family of 5 easily.
I'd return for sure.
Lovely new creperie on the train tracks in an old signalling box. Good coffee and really filling crêpes! Cute tiny garden out back. Serves wine and beer. Open until 11pm (ish).
Had a lovely hour here. Delicious crepes and vegan choice for us picky folk. Such a picturesque venue and worth a visit if you're in the area.
I recently privately hired La Boîte for a surprise 40th birthday party on a Saturday evening having been during the day a few times and devoured some of the best crepes I’ve ever had.
The owner (Daniella) and I had been in contact for a while to arrange. Daniella has excellent customer service.
I surprised Daniella and her team with the news that I was going to propose to my girlfriend (who’s 40th it was too) and they did everything they could to help keep it secret and make it go smoothly.
The food was obviously first class crepe cookery, brought upstairs to us served as canapés. They supplied the drinks and ran a pay bar.
La Boîte is a charming, characterful and cozy crêperie and makes a unique little space to hold a party.
A beautifully restored signal box. Lovely staff and a good selection of crepes...but they are slightly dry..try brushing with butter or oil (for vegan customers).
