We sat outdoor. Staff are friendly and helpful. They offer delicious desserts and bakes. Great cupcakes with tasty toppings. Chocolate truffle cake is a must try. Salads are fresh. Try the Cesar salad. Excellent service.

Had a lovely cup of coffee and a very pleasant afternoon tea here. They sandwiches were interesting (the cream cheese one was a little bland for my taste), the scones were good, the cakes gorgeous. A good little spot for a nice, reasonably priced afternoon tea.

Great cakes and tea. It is an instant favourite, the products are so good. I tried the chocolate truffle cake and it stood out with perfectly baked layers and nice frosting of chocolate.

Beas of Bloomsbury is a bit of an institution when it comes to all things cake and taking afternoon tea in one of their outlets has been on my to do list for a while!  The St Pauls venue is a relaxed, informal and casual spot to visit with the added benefit of being right next door to London’s most famous cathedral dome.  You don’t really get a view from the inside, so you’ll have to make do with all of your instagramming before you get there.  The interiors are small and yet quirky, it’s only a tiny little slip of a venue – corridor shaped, with one side of floor to ceiling glass next to One New Change shopping centre.

I love Beas of Bloomsbury and when I heard there was a branch opening at One New Change I couldn't wait to try it, as I had already spent many an afternoon at the Bloomsbury branch.

This branch is small but well decorated and quite quirky. This makes it a nice place for afternoon tea or for a quick stop of coffee and cake whilst in the city.

The cakes at Beas of Bloomsbury are divine and the afternoon is their bets offering, as you get to sample a bit of everything.

I would always recommend Beas, but I think secretly I will always prefer the Bloomsbury branch!

Beas of Bloomsbury is a bit of an institution when it comes to all things cake and taking afternoon tea in one of their outlets has been on my to do list for a while! You order up your selection from the counter downstairs and upstairs there is a similar sized space, just wide enough to hold a length of banquette-style seating, covered in bright and warm velvety colours. Teapots hang from the ceiling and there is some exposed brick and metal work to keep it looking too twee.

Bea’s attracts a varied crowd, there are the ladies of leisure having the traditional afternoon tea (like us) but also people on business having meetings with a cake and a coffee and shoppers and tourists alike sampling something sweet to give them a jolt of energy. We join the afternoon tea brigade and sit down in a corner of the room upstairs, all the better to see the whole room and settle in. First up, drinks.

The tea menu was short and sweet; it doesn’t try to bamboozle you with options, but still offers up a decent selection. We opt for an Earl Grey and a fruity number of Blackcurrant and Hibiscus. They come in solid china teapots and mugs, which are deceptively large and need no topping up, although it does make for a slightly stronger brew than the delicate flavor of an Earl Grey really calls for.

The afternoon tea begins with a cake stand filled to the brim with sandwiches, scones and a mouthwatering cake and dessert selection. Where to begin? As is traditional, we start with the sandwiches – these are not the delicate crustless variety, but flavoursome focaccia with a range of innovative flavours; Cream cheese & Walnut, Parma Ham and Onion Jam with Mozzarella. The cream cheese and walnut wins for its simplicity and when paired with the slightly salty focaccia and rosemary bread is a taste sensation.

One note of warning though, these delectable sandwiches are quite considerably more filling than their delicate thin bread counterparts and we find ourselves filling up far too soon and yet there is a whole platter full of delicious food to savour.

The scones are good and when served with lashings of cream and raspberry jam, just as toothsome as any traditional English fare of scones with tea. But the cakes are where it’s truly at. We opt to share half of each of the cupcakes – chocolate topped with raspberry cream and the other chocolate base again topped with pistachio cream. A failing of the cupcake trend of the moment is a tendency towards excessive icing but Bea’s has balanced the icing/ cupcake ratio perfectly. Furthermore, the icing tastes exactly of the fruit it represents and not just a sugary concoction on top. We’re torn between the two flavours; so distinct and perfect as they are in their own rights, we are forced to call it a tie.

The additional sweet things on top are getting more and more challenging to eat. This is an afternoon tea designed for the very hungry and with meringues, blondies, brownies and marshmallow yet to go, we are soon defeated. The charming staff offers to pack them up though and offer up little boxes to take our sweet treats home, which is a lovely touch and one more high tea establishments should offer.

Pleasant Break near St. Paul's. We booked a tea there for a late in the afternoon. It is a small space and were a bit slammed. The service very pleasant and tea choice great. The sandwiches were a bit disappointing -- no variety, just one kind offered. Maybe this was because it was the end of the day but explaining to a 12 year old that whole wheat, feta roasted red pepper was the only choice was tricky. On the other hand the scones, pastries and macaroons were delicious.

Best Afternoon Tea in London. While I was studying in London, I would go to Bea's at least once a week for Afternoon Tea. It had the best food at the best price, and I never left hungry. The atmosphere is much more casual than some of the other tea places, so if you are looking for the classic tea experience, this might not be the best place to go. However, the food is the best, and the price is right. Instead of the typical finger sandwiches, Bea's provide small baguettes that are fab and don't contain mayonnaise. They have the best scones in London (clotted cream isn't even necessary). Each person gets a cupcake as well as other little delicious sweets. I recommend requesting the red velvet cupcake.

My cupcake was picture perfect, angelic with a magic touch of colourful star sprinkles. The buttercream is natural real flavours not the sugar-overloaded crap at most places. Underneath, a fluffy moist chocolate sponge cake, you die and go to heaven from each bite.

I was in the vicinity of St Paul's today so decided to check out the new(ish) One New Change shopping centre and my main reaction...meh. I am not a fan of these mall-type shopping centres and particularly next to the magnificence of St Paul's Cathedral. Anyway - I'm sure it's lovely for the people who work there to have some concentrated retail therapy to occupy their lunch breaks. Anyway, the best thing by far about this development is that there is a Bea's there (is it still Bea's of Bloomsbury if it's not in Bloomsbury?) I am a HUGE fan of the original Bea's in Theobolds Road WC1 and so as far as I'm concerned the more Bea's (and also bees) there are in the world the better. In fact Bea - how about SW18? Hmmm? As much as all the food at Bea's looks delicious I can never go past their version of the red velvet cupcake - not as sickly sweet as Hummingbird and the like, these babies are cup cake perfection and the Square Mile flat white I had with it was spot on. I sat staring out at a

This is the cutest little cafe that I've been to in a while. I passed by it a few times before and I was always attracted by it. I finally got to go there for breakfast. I arrived there before my friend , so I figured I'll just grab a table to wait for her. There are two or three small tables downstairs, but I recommend you sit upstairs, where there is a lot more space, and you have a great view over the neighbourhood.
When I arrived, there was a waitress doing coffee, she was a bit rude I thought, because she didn't look at me or even say hi. All she did was asking me to wait a moment. So I waited, and fortunately, there was another waiter who came to talk to me, who was much nicer and much more welcoming. He told me I could go right upstairs. When my friend came, we went back downstairs to order. We hesitated a lot because everything seemed delicious.
I went for the brownie cheesecake and she had the passionfruit one. We had them with a coffee each. Their cappuccino was quite good.
The cakes, on the other hand, were delicious, and so filling that I couldn't have lunch until 5 pm that day ( breakfast was at 11).
We had a great time, the place is very cute and cosy, and you immediately get the feeling that this is a place where you can have a great conversation with your friends.
Oh and when you order, they give you this cute wooden spoon with a number on it, so you can go back to your table and wait for your order to arrive.
I paid around £7 for the coffee and cake.
Bottom line, I would definitely go back there, everything was great.

I was in London last month for a business trip, and I happened to visit this place for an afternoon tea after searching a lot for places to have a nice meal and tea. The decor of the place was very well done and had small teapots hanging all over the place. The tea and the big red velvet cake was served almost instantly and both the things were very well prepared.
The service was pretty attentive as well and I had an overall amazing time.

I had a wonderful tea room experience at this place. The ambiance here is quite good and the decor is very eccentric and appealing. The tea is incredibly good and so are the scones, sandwiches, brownies, cupcakes and a variety of things they have to offer. The atmosphere is also good and the place is good value for money. I would definitely recommend this place.

I absolutely love coming to this restaurant. i love that they have so many variation in the cupcakes and pastries that they offer. They have small sugar bowls placed on every table. I am particularly a fan of the blue cookie monster. The thanksgiving dinner served is delicious with a reminder of home food. Their service was friendly and food was priced well.

I visited this place with my girlfriend a couple of weeks ago and had a nice time having their tea and a couple of other dishes. Most of the dishes that were ordered were amazing and the server was extremely friendly. The reason why this place doesn't deserve a five star rating is because their toilets were not in proper working condition and there wasn't any soap in the washrooms.

The place is highly recommended to people who are looking to stop before or after the visit to St. Paul's Cathedral. The restaurant is well decorated and most of time people need to make reservations for even for a cup of tea. We sat upstairs under a teapot light which reminded me of a Scene in Alice in wonderland. the tea served was warm and delicious which is perfect for a snowy day. They also served us with a bunch of sweets which i felt were too much in quantity which was not required.

I love the cupcakes that are served here. I absolutely enjoyed the mango vanilla cupcake which was accompanied by a hot cup of coffee or tea of your choice. the red velvet didn't impress me much. The chocolate cake near the cashier's reception looked delicious which i had decided to indulge in later but i was too late and it came down to it being the last available piece. the interior's of the restaurant are well furnished. even though it was a Sunday afternoon, the place was packed with people having their tea/ coffee with cupcakes.

I used to be a regular at this place back when i was studying in London. I'd go there very often for afternoon tea. The food is very good there and reasonably priced, one never left hungry. The mood of this place however is very casual, so if you're looking for proper London tea, don't go there .There is quite some variety in food, not the usual finger sandwiches, they have the best baguettes without mayonnaise. They also have the most amazing scones and each person gets a cupcake too.

This place is housed in a unattractive shopping center which is advertised quite a bit. It is done up in blue and grey walls, giving it a rather warm and welcoming appeal, in an otherwise boring shopping arcade. There was a vast array of cakes on display. Each looked lovely and gorgeous making it hard to pick one!

A nice little cafe with some good options for tea and coffee . The food however , didn't have much variety , probably because it was late and the place was about to close . The ambiance however is good , the selection in desserts was wonderful too . Will go back soon .

Perfect place to stop by for a quick breakfast, afternoon tea or dessert. Beas offers a variety of pastries, cakes and cupcakes which can be sat and enjoyed within the restaurant. A beautiful seating area with a warm decor and pleasing atmosphere and great customer service.

Ive previously ordered many cupcakes, a triple chocolate cake and maple syrup coffee. I thoroughly enjoyed them all and returned for a box of cupcakes for my work colleagues. They offer a loyalty card upon which you receive one free cupcake after purchasing 10. One of my favourite places to stop by, situated in the One new change shopping mall next to St. Paul's cathedral.

I personally found the cakes were slightly over priced, but perfect for those who wish to satisfy their sugar cravings whilst working in the city.

I would definitely recommend this place and will be returning for duffins (doughnuts + muffins) and cronuts (croissants and doughnuts) myself!

Bea's is such a lovely place for an afternoon tea. They have loads of desserts (my favorite are the fresh fruit tarts) and a huge selection of teas. I heard plenty about Bea's before coming here, and now I'm wondering why I didn't go sooner!

I know, I know, I’m kind of becoming a stalker of poor Bea (if it helps, several other blogging friends have admitted the same!), but I really do think her cakes are some of the best around.

Friend C has recently gone abroad for six months. By the time she comes back I’ll be wrapped up in the world of babytalk and probably won’t be much of a contributor to my ladies’ fabulous lifestyles anymore, so we decided before she left to go for a joint birthday afternoon tea, just her and I, as we shared the same birthday weekend in January.

We’ve actually done Bea’s for our annual afternoon tea before – we just think it’s wonderful. This time was not a disappointment. I don’t know how they’ve done it, taking Bea’s of Bloomsbury from one great little cafe on Theobold’s Road to several branches spread across London and still managed to keep the quality of the food and service up.

As I said earlier, the quality of Bea’s has not changed over the years. I love that they’ve expanded beyond cake and do some really fun events at their Maltby Street arch (movie nights, crawfish boils, a Saturday diner~). C agreed with me and when she returns to the UK, and hopefully that means London, we will be back for yet another birthday afternoon tea.

C – have the most incredible trip! I am jealous beyond words, especially as it means you get nine months of summer…

Kim and I was dying to have some afternoon tea, we suppose to go to the Ritz but both on a tight budget. I suggested Bea’s of Bloomsbury, they opened their second branch One Change, St Pauls. I booked a table for 2 at 1pm on a Sunday overlooking the city surroundings.

Extract from their website on their Afternoon Tea Offering

Full afternoon tea for £15.00 per person, which includes savoury baguettes, a proper scones, clotted cream and jam, one of our signature cupcakes, a mini Valrhona brownie, a mini Belgian Blondie, and a mini meringue and of course a pot of Jing tea.

The cakes are absolutely D E L I C O U S, the lemon marshmallow melts into your mouth with that lemon zest taste. The cupcakes are the best I’ve tried so far, moist, airy and fluffy and the butter cream flavoured without too much butter. The scones wasn’t too heavy and went well with the clotted cream and jam. LOVE THIS PLACE.

I haven't tried any of their lunch offerings because as fas as I'm concerned this place is all about one thing - cupcakes! Boy do they bake a tremendous cupcake!!

Strawberry and cream, sticky toffee pudding, tiramisu, Nutella and vanilla, red velvet, passionfruit and vanilla.... every single one I've tried is heavenly, cakey goodness. The bakers not only know what they are doing but consistently produce amazing, top quality batches.

This is the premier league of cupcakes and I heartily recommend them.

One slight snag - the pricing on the board states "£2.50 each or 6 for £15"! These things are so good that they clearly don't need to offer a discount but for those mathematically challenged it is misleading...

If you are fan of cup cakes this is the place for you. Specially try the red velvet cake, yummmy.
The place is also famous for champagne afternoon tea. The place is small and gets very busy, so please book in advance.
Extensive pastry variety and really good cakes made to order.
Prices are reasonable (a cup cake around £2.5).
Highly recommended.

Beas of bloomsbury is as lovely an eatery as it sounds. With delectable cupcakes and brilliant tea, this is one of our favourite bakeries in London. Even their crockery is cute!

They also have lunch options but we usually stop by for cakes. I can easily recommend passion fruit cupcake, brownies, banana bread and moist carrot cake. Absolutely brilliant.

They also make amazing scones - very flavourful and very well made (soft inside and crumbly outside) Do try the cheese scones. Delicious from the word go.

I popped in to Beas of Bloomsbury when I was scouting Bloomsbury for a blog feature for my London Lifestyle Blog called Homegirl London. This is a lovely contemporary cafe where you can enjoy afternoon tea with a friend. We had tea and a couple of cakes which were delicious. The cup cakes are adorable. A must visit cake shop if you have a sweet tooth!

I really enjoyed the experience to have the afternoon tea (Bea's signature option, which cost 30 ponds per person) in London. It would be even better if we have had less sweets and more sandwichs.

To start off with, the bakery itself looks a treat from the outside and really catches your eye with it's floral theme and extravagant font type. I ordered the espresso and chocolate and the peanut butter cupcakes and a slice of the chocolate and guinness loaf. The cake was rich, dark and moist and the cupcakes looked and tasted an absolute treat! There were a lot more items in the display that I really wanted to try and I will be coming back soon to explore those delights!
