Mama Thai - London - Photo album

Was recommended this place by my local cousin. Walked in at about noon yesterday and was a bit wary as there was no one else there and it was small and not very done-up inside. The owner (I think... older man) explained all the dishes they had that day. Basically you get rice and then add your curri
Best food in London. The staff is so damn nice and the food is just incredible. Ask them what you should get and they'll hook you up!
Not your usual Thai, I think the owners describe it as a fusion of Indian and Thai cuisine. Anyway, the food is delicious and price is low with £5 for a meat curry, £4 for vegetarian. Don't usually go for veggie options, but don't mind going veggie here because it's so good.
Stopped in for a quick lunch after walking around the neighborhood and couldn't have been more delighted. It's a low-key joint with a very local vibe (read: no frills), but that's exactly what I loved. Fantastic food, lovely people, and easy. Wouldn't hesitate about going back the next time we're he
Probably the best curries... in the world... ever. Mama Thai do the most amazing home cooked curries. Thai-Indian fusion food that isn't too sugary like most Thai curries. The veggie ones are outta this world- pumpkin, chic pea, spinach, Okra, Aubergine, Lentil- they've got it all. You choose which
OMG such delicious curries and for a good price! It's a pretty basic place but don't let that fool you as the food tastes like it is definitely made with love (and a lot of spices). Contrary to what the name of the restaurant suggests, this place serves mainly Indian-style curries.
Awesome fresh food. Great curries, meat and veg. Simple pricing. Owner is a real charmer. Very low key and no frills. Recommend as best Thai food had in UK
Stumbled upon this place by chance, but my god is it a hidden gem. This may not be Thai food, but indeed more Indian like others have said. Not that it matters much, as the food is extremely delicious (tried the lamb curry), people are friendly and the prices are very reasonable (5£ for a veggie cur
Great food, big portions, friendly service. Lots of choice and good prices. Take away or wait for one of the limited seats. Decent vegetarian options. Some dishes are very spicy.
Great selection of simple fusion curries (Thai/Indian). You certainly can't fault the £5 price or size of the portions hence huge queues out the door every lunchtime. Very limited seating, and where there is a space, it is elbow to elbow.
A hidden Gem, lovely people making home cooked curries to die for, priced extremely well for the area and for what you get. Eating in is like eating at home but you also do have the option to take away. I'd recommend visiting if in the area.
The absolute best. A city institution. The best Thai food I've had outside of Thailand. Open from 11am - 3pm weekdays only, upon opening the place immediately has a queue from a mixture of Brick Lane/Shoreditch workers, suits from nearby Liverpool St/City so you're advised to get there early (11.45
I have be eating here for 10 years and it is a staple of my existence in London. A tremendous mix of Indian and Thai spices that is not duplicated anywhere that I know of. If you work near Liverpool St station and you haven't been here, what are you doing with your life?
Awesome, just feels like the chef made everything by himself and he is talking to you. Very welcoming atmosphere and great authentic food for the price, perfect for lunch. But check opening times.
Was walking by accidentally while playing pokemon and spotted this place. Said Halal on the window so walked in and got myself a chilli chicken with spinach potatoes. Food is fantastic, will definitely be going back to try the other dishes
Great food, quick service, wasnt sure what all the options are as a new customer and they weren't really explained so was a bit confused about what to get and what was available. Wouldve appreciated a bit of help with that. Other than that was lovely
One of the few authentic places left in the area. Not only the food was amazing, but the owner, an extraordinary person. I wish there was more support for this kind of business!
Rocked up around 4pm definitely closed, Door was open the guy called me in! Opened up showed me what he had left and it was the best thai curry ive had in a long time! Definitely worth a visit!!
Amazing homemade food. Spot on.
