Best burgers ever! How have I only just discovered this place?!
SPECTACULAR DIRTY BURGER RESTAURANT & THE STAFF WERE AWESOME!!!!:))) #gettingdownanddirty #carleenesmith
Really nice burger shack next to vauxhall station. Looks very american, they don’t have a lot of place to sit, or even a washroom! The menu is small, making it easy to choose. I had a green burger. It was perfectly crispy and buns were soft. Maybe could add more toppings? I also had a chocolate shake which was amazing! Will come again for sure.
While walking around to discover the area, I found this place called Dirtg Burger so I decided to give it a try. I tried the Dirty Bacon and the Sweet Potato Fries. The burger was fine. For me, the bacon was undercooked and the overall meat taste can be enhanced. The sweet potatoes were okay. But I personally prefer normal potatoes.

Acabada de chegar a Londres quando encontrei o Dirty Burger 🍔🍔🍔

Chef Sam has been telling me to go to Dirty Burger for weeks now if I want one of the best burgers in town, but obviously I was just waiting for the opportunity to go with her, and what better day to do so than a Saturday afternoon post-drinks?. Spending the last of the “summer” afternoons al fresco boozing aboard the Tamesis Dock (old boat docked on the Thames which has been converted into a bar) is a marvellous way to pass the time. I use inverted commas for summer as this is by no Australia standards anything remotely summery. I was wearing a blazer and a scarf and was shivering when the sun would coquettishly disappear behind the clouds. But for London, I am told to enjoy the daylight while it lasts.
Tried their Halloween special- double patty, roasted pepper garlic chilli pumpkin purée and cheese, oh so good
Service wasn't the greatest and I had to wait a while, but the food always top notch

I think it’s always important to start a new year with a plan. We spend so much time focusing on our daily ‘to-do’ list that sometimes we can forget that we need to get outside and make time for the things we enjoy in life. As you all know, one of my biggest enjoyments is eating out and while I’m living in one of the best cities in the world, I’m going to make the most out of the truly international cuisine London can offer.
This week I explored Dirty Burger and found it to be more of a life-changing visit. When I first walked in to the Vauxhall branch it was absolutely dead, noone but myself the cashier and the chef – but I didn’t mind that, less waiting time. Let me set the scene, it’s a make shift style building made from steel and wood, conveying a just-put-together feel. It’s very much in keeping with their ethos of not having to try too hard.
The chips are thick and crinkly and pleasant. They do the job. Next time I think I will opt for the spicy fries to see what they are about. My vanilla shake is a winner. It's made from scratch and is rich in vanilla bean which makes for a nice change to bleached white vanilla devoid of that genuine vanilla flavour.
I saw Dirty Burger opened a new place in Vauxhall and decided to drop by. The place is owned by the Soho House group, the same ones of Pizza East, and Electric Diner. Their burger joint has now two locations, one in Kentish Town, and the other one in Vauxhall just a couple steps from the train exit in the arches

I’ve recently been trying more of the fast-food variety of the burger joints, and I never thought I would be trying a place that purposefully calls their burger “dirty”.
Not to mention this area is pretty big with commuters, so you would need somewhere people can pop in and out – this branch isn’t very huge, but it doesn’t need to be.
I decided to get stuck in and order the dirty bacon burger and crinkle cut chips, and I took a seat to wait for my order. It was fascinating to watch through the open window, into the kitchen, just how he constructed my burger – the chef strategically timed the cooking of the patty and even perfectly toasted the brioche bun.
What actually impressed me, was that whilst he was cooking up the bun and prepping the salad, he started steaming the patty on the grill. Now, I don’t know if behind the scenes the other places I visited did this – but it got me pretty psyched to eat my burger.
Their motto, “how dirty will you go?” it turns out things got pretty messy. The dirty bacon burger consisted of a beef patty (I opted for a single), thick cut slices of bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mustard. Now, I don’t usually like mustard but blimey this stuff was good – I’m pretty sure I saw him heating this bad boy up whilst it was still on the grill. Whatever he did, Mr Chef, you’ve converted me into a mustard-on-burger kind of gal.
The patty was beautifully ugly, I love it when the patty is not a uniformed circle. It was beautifully cooked, nice bit of pink just peeking through, and it was seasoned to perfection – there were peppercorns here and there in the burger. The thick cut bacon wasn’t bacon, but more a thick cut piece of pork (yes, yes I know bacon is pork) which was only a teeny tiny bit overcooked. It was a little hard to eat considering the patty was so tender and the bacon was just that bit too tough.
The crinkle cut chips were better than those in Shake Shack – but it just didn’t do it for me. They were fresh potatoes that had clearly been cut by hand, I just wasn’t too phased. I honestly have to say this burger however, it has now gone straight to the top of my fast-food joints, it’s beaten Five Guys and Shack Shack.
It’s sloppy. It’s fast. It’s care-free. But that’s what you want from a burger, it’s not meant to be classy.

No-nonsense fast food shack that is no. 1 to satisfy you with a glorious, sweaty cheeseburger if you're hungry and within a mile radius.
Will keep returning whenever I'm in the area w/ a tenner and a (probably alcohol influenced) appetite.
This place is the perfect after booze night!
FOOD: Absolutely dirty as the name says, in a good way tough. I found the burger very tasty and well cooked. Fries are good not memorable.
PLACE: small, small, small.... This is why I said is a place to go for a quick eat, there are tables but it's always crowded and it's hard to seat down.
PRICE: 10 -12 quid not bad overall, average in London, less expensive than other places I've been btw.
Next drink night I will probably visit again!
I really love this lovely little burger joint... I found it by mistake waiting for a friend at vauxhall station. I have now been back 3 times and its always a to-do when I am in that part of London.
Burger was amazing! Milkshakes even better, I cannot fault anything about this simple little burger bar! Do yourself a favour and go for it!
Dirty Burger was on my to do list for a long time. I kept hearing wonderful things, but Kentish Town is pretty far away, so I was delighted when they announced that they were opening their second site in Vauxhall, where I work. Hopefully, this will mark the start of a Vauxhall food & drink revolution, if anyone can find any good spaces to set up shop. There are a few fun places around already (Bonnington Café, Estrela Bar, Brunswick House Café) but everything is randomly dotted around.
Dirty Burger is more of a fast food joint than a restaurant, and wouldn't look out of place in a scrap yard. I mean this in the nicest way possible, as the tiny shack is made of random pieces of metal, some with locks and bolts still attached. Your main choice has already been made - you are having a cheeseburger (£5.50). Then you can choose onion fries or crinkle cut chips (or both, each is £3), and pick a soft drink, milkshake or even a Brewdog beer. If you want Sausage & Egg, or Bacon & Egg (with bottomless tea/coffee) then go along for breakfast before 11am - it opens as early as 7am on weekdays.
So it all sounds pretty simple, and it is. What matters is that everything tastes fantastic. The cheeseburger is streets ahead of your regular fast food fare (including the over hyped Five Guys) and good value. The onion fries are the pick of the two sides but you won't be disappointed either way. Cheap, quick and reliable - it is the perfect pit stop before braving the tube or the train after work, or after a night out. It is open til 2am on Fridays and Saturdays which should draw an interesting crowd in Vauxhall! Thanks to locals Mary & Joe for having everything on the menu with me.
The Vauxhall outpost of Dirty Burger is fast becoming a regular haunt for me - no least because I'm in receipt of a magic discount card giving me 20% off food, for life (Yes, I know a £5 cheeseburger becomes a £4 cheeseburger....but to quote the strapline of a well known yet not performing so strongly supermarket, every little helps).
As I'm currently in the throes of meat free January, there was to be a total hiatus on visits to Dirty Burger and of course cheeseburgers HOWEVER it turns out that the Dirty Burger monthly special, The Dirty Cop Out, is actually 100% vegetarian. So, once more into the breach...
Price: Dirty Cop Out burger - £6.50
The Dirty Cop Out burger, at its core, is a portobello mushroom - following in the footsteps of Byron and Patty & Bun.
The mushroom is flat-top griddled and topped with a mound of smoked applewood cheese which is melted over the mushroom. These are then topped with pickles and placed on a bed of rocket and tarragon mayonnaise - wrapped in the same bun as the dirty cheeseburger.
First up, it's dirty, so get yourself some napkins. Opening the wrapper, you're greeted with a waft of mushroom and tarragon - a kind of stroganoff steam, if you will - the cheese, mayo and rocket ooze and spill from the bun. Once you scoop it all together and tuck the errant ingredients back into the bun, the first big bite through everything is brilliant.
There's a overwhelming creaminess to this burger. The lightly smoked cheese is gooey and stretchy, like mozarella, and the tarragon mayo enhances the earthiness of the mushroom. There's a slight 'bite' of pepper from the rocket, but the pickles seem lost and don't add the much needed acidity to balance the other, richer toppings.
It's a decent burger, but I think its greatest strength is also its greatest weakness - it's too creamy - and I find myself taking handfuls of onion fries (yes, of course I ordered onion fries) to cut through the richness. With hindsight, I probably should have asked for a couple more pickles - but maybe you can learn from my experience.
The Dirty Cop Out burger is on special for January, at both Vauxhall and Kentish Town, so get it while you can.
I absolutely love the burgers here. Well seasoned, juicy and a bit sloppy - just a foodgasm - only for a fiver. No service, charge, no waiting - would choose Dirty Burger over Byron anytime.
Wow. The burger here is delicious. Phenomenal.
The cheese melts in your mouth. It's that good.
Served with chips and a drink. Good price.
Cool and friendly staff. Has nice interior design too. Highly recommend. ^_^
Great burgers with amazing sauces and nicely cooked meat. Fries were perfect, nice and crispy. Service was friendly and quick!
Unfortunately they were busy and my order seemed to have got lost! BUT don't let that deter you the friendly staff quickly got it on the go once they realised there was a problem and the Dirty Bacon burger was magnificent, the ample quantity of sweet potato fries were also a joy.
This awesome little place is tucked away behind the station. The decor suit's it down to the ground and the smell from outside is of quality burgers. Step inside and you're not going to be disappointed. Kevin and staff are doing an amazing job cooking and serving amazing burgers. I thoroughly recommended the sweet potato fries. They also offer a gluten free bun option.
The beef burgers taste of quality beef. The buttermilk coated chicken burger is divine. Can't make up your mind which one to have? Just ask Kevin for a Dirty Shand to satisfy your needs...
Great little joint but maybe a tad too little? Excellent burger and decent fries… just a bit too tight inside for my liking.
Good quick bite to grab and go. Only two staff so there is a long lunch rush. Everything is freshly cooked and the potato chips are to die for. Chicken could use some seasoning however.
Excellent burgers! I never would have guessed there was such a great burger place in this location. Super tasty burgers and fries. Highly recommended. Will be back many times.
Friendly and fast service
HIGH Recommend Dirty bird burger and sweet potato fries.
Casual place just besides the tube station
I honestly don’t know what they do in to the burgers 🍔
BUT
THEY are between the most DELICIOUS 🤤 burgers in London!!!
Right price for right quantity!
I love their little space filled with love and delicious smell!
IT’S A MUST EAT!!! (forget other fast foods)
Amazing burger! The flavour is incredible. Will definitely come back here next time I’m working in the area, and recommend to colleagues too. Yes, it’s quite pricey, but this is London.
This was an incredible and outstanding experience tonight. First of all the food was excellent, from the perfectly cooked, tasty and juicy burgers. The quality of the food is well above Black Bear Burger, Honest Burgers and Five Guys which are overpriced and soulless. The service was outstanding, warm and friendly. Thanks to Aldo for making our evening so special. We will be back very soon!
Given the proximity to a range of alternative reading establishments in the immediate vicinity, the burgers have got to be good to contend. To that end, the burgers are quite good - a bit small but juicy and well constructed. Burger, fries and a drink for £12 before 4pm
My friends and I had excellent burgers here with very quick service. I stupidly walked off without my overnight bag to catch the train and when a homeless person tried to steal it Erado who was working at the time chased them down and got it back for me, he even got scratched trying to rescue it. He kept it behind the counter until I came back a few mins later, I am so grateful. He really went above and beyond to help me and it was so kind.
