We had the set lunch to celebrate my birthday with work colleagues and all enjoyed our food immensely xxx
Lovely, brilliant food, everything tasted top quality. We had the mixed starter, Pad Thai and the mixed seafood Pad Thai. A little expensive, staff are nice. Nice Chilli Jam and use of chilli in the food.
4.5/5
Very nice restaurant!! Good and spicy food!!
very nice Thai food. Love it!!
A nice restaurant with tasty food. The decor is better than most. Use their website to book a table at lunch. It is often crowded. Dinner is less busy.
Outstanding food with great service. I was staying in the area couple of days. I tried this restaurant as the receptionist recommendation.
On entering there was a friendly welcome and I asked to be sat in front of the large window where I could see out. The menu was standard with authentic Thai dishes. Foods arrive with nice decoration. The service was excellent. On asking for the bill we had a long conversation. If I'm in the area again I will certainly visit there.
The best place in London if you wanna try some Thai food!!!! The pineapple fried rice is soooo amazing!!! And I love the raw prawn so much. Will definitely come again with my friends soon!
The overall experience was so enjoyable that I couldn't resist going back for another visit. The food was consistently delicious, and the service was attentive and friendly. If you're looking for a place to satisfy your cravings and indulge in flavorful dishes, I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try. You won't be disappointed!
Khao Pad Supparrod £18.95
I literally burst into tears at this price and serving size, no bragging, there are pictures. Enough for three people to eat, diced pineapple and shrimp, cashew nuts, meat floss is just too much, I just look for rice inside the dish every bite is not in vain, full of material, into the store not to order really will regret!!!!
Kor Moo Yang Thai Pork Neck £20.95
served on the iron plate, the aroma of fat is very good, the meat is very tender, we recommend dipping it in the sauce, sweet and sour!
Grilled Lamb Rack £28.95
Sour and spicy flavored grilled lamb! It was piping hot and grilled to a very tender and solid consistency, several large pieces in total.
One of the best Thai food in London! We two tried many dishes and they were all delicious! The rare raw prawns are worth trying! But Tom Yum Goong soup is recommended to add coconut milk, the flavor will be stronger. Mangoes with sticky rice are particularly sweet! It feels like the store selected the variety with care. The drinks are fine, Thai milk tea is better. Anyways it is best Thai restaurant I've tried.
Worth trying restaurant, it was so delicious! I came here twice, it’s good for friends gathering or team lunch, very golden location. I love Thai milk tea and the fried rice here. Also highly recommend Pad Hoi Lai!✨I will definitely come back again!
Very good dine in experience, food was very yummy and well prepared. Love their pineapple duck and Massaman Lamb
A decent food with good service.
Thai food is authentic,delicious.
The iced milk tea is sooooo tasty.
Ice cream is the best choice for dessert.
This is my third time eating at Sawadika Thai Restaurant. They now have a new Vietnamese chef, so in addition to the original Thai dishes, they have added some Vietnamese styles.
Here are some recommended dishes with consistently good quality:
🥭
Three-color mango coconut sticky rice:
The sticky rice comes in three colors: blue - jasmine, green - pandan leaf, and white - original flavor. It's served with slightly salty coconut milk and deliciously ripe mango. It's so irresistible that I order this sticky rice every time I visit.
🍍
Pineapple fried rice:
Half of a pineapple filled to the brim with fried rice, mixed with various ingredients such as prawns and pineapple. Topped with meat floss, the fried rice is wonderfully fluffy and eating it brings a sense of happiness.
🦐
Thai-style sizzling tamarind prawns:
The prawns are huge, cut in half and cooked to curl due to their fresh and juicy texture. The tamarind sauce, made from tamarind, is tangy and sweet, perfect for whetting your appetite. Served on a sizzling hot plate, it creates a delightful sizzle when poured over the prawns and it's garnished with plenty of cashew nuts.
🐷
Belly pork steamed buns:
Soft and delicious lotus leaf buns paired with fatty yet non-greasy belly pork. This combination is simply irresistible - fragrant, tender, and steaming hot.
🥗
Vietnamese green papaya mango salad:
Shredded mango and green papaya mixed with crushed peanuts make this salad incredibly refreshing. The dressing is made with fish sauce, adding a sweet and savory flavor to the dish.
🔥
Thai-style roasted pork neck:
Also served on a hot plate, this dish exudes a delightful aroma from the Maillard reaction. The pork neck is juicy and tender, and it will be an instant hit on your plate.
🍆
Eggplant tofu:
Surprisingly, this vegetarian dish is even more delicious than some meat dishes. If you like eggplants, you must give it a try. The eggplant's skin is removed, resulting in a particularly enjoyable texture.
🧋
Thai milk tea is also exceptional - rich, fragrant, and perfect for cooling down spiciness.
🍧
Their desserts are all excellent. If you have a large group, I recommend trying a variety of them.
💷Average cost per person: £50
What a hidden gem! The seafood, particularly the jumbo prawns, were absolutely amazing! I also really loved the raw marinated prawns and would definitely recommend that. They’ve got a huge variety of options to cater for everyone.
I wouldn't say this is the best Thai I’ve had in London, but it's certainly not bad.
🔸 Come specifically for mango sticky rice and it does deliver - the sweetness of a mango and the softness of sticky rice makes it a lovely dessert. However, it needs to be eaten fairly quickly otherwise the rice gets really tough.
🔸the prawn salad with glass noodles is a lovely appetizer - fresh, spicy and a bit of hint of lemon. It does get more and more spicy, if you can't deal with spicy food please avoid.
🔸 stir fried clams is on the salty side, it'll be challenging to have without some rice.
There are also many vegetarian dishes and are marked clearly on the menu. I would recommend sticky mango rice lovers to come, if you are just looking for a cheap Thai place - this is probably not what you are looking for.
We like this restaurant! We are not sure why so many people are hating on their food but after reading, maybe they don't know how to order other thai food besides the basics 😂
We ordered larb, fish, raw prawns, fried rice and pineapple fried rice, along with some starters. It's authentic! And good! You can hardly find thai restaurants in Europe that serves such food aside from the basic pad thai, tom yum soup, and green curry.
So yes, don't be put off by the other reviews unless you only eat the three above mentioned thai food.
Food is amazing! I am really happy to coming back again to try more dishes!
A Thai Culinary Gem in the Heart of London!
I recently discovered this Thai haven called Sawadika right in the bustling streets of London, and oh boy, it was a delightful experience! Walking into Sawadika was like being transported to a cozy alley in Bangkok, thanks to its authentic Thai decor and warm ambiance.
Now, let's talk food - it was a taste bud explosion! The Thai Pineapple Fried Rice was the perfect blend of sweet and savory, while the Thai Green Papaya Salad had a kick that left me craving for more. The Tom Kha soup was a comforting blend of coconut milk richness, a perfect remedy for the London chill.
But the star of the show? The Thai Chicken Claws! Soft, tender, and seasoned to perfection with Thai spices, they were an absolute delight. The Thai Stir-fried Water Spinach with Shrimp Paste had the perfect balance of salty and fresh. The Thai Baked Fish, Thai Teppanyaki Tamarind Prawns, and Thai Red Curry Cod were all exquisite, each dish was a journey through the vibrant flavors of Thailand.
The ambiance was cozy with friendly service that added to the warm Thai hospitality vibe. If you're in London and have a craving for some authentic Thai flavors, Sawadika is the place to be. Each dish was a testament to the rich culinary heritage of Thailand, and I can't wait to go back and try more from their menu. Sawadika is a true taste of Thailand right here in London!
Staff was friendly to explain the menu to me. Food was great, especially the lamb chops.
Quality food!
Pan friend seafood: so tasty! With a strong lemongrass flavour, a rice killer.
Pineapple fried rice: big portion, above average.
Shrimp paste friend morning glory: if you like morning glory this is a must order! The umami flavour of shrimp paste works so well with the crunchy delicate morning glory, will try recreate this at home.
Thai sea bass: may not reach my expectations and a bit overpriced.
Fried thick rice noodles: forgot the name of this dish, but definitely a spicy one. A bit too much for me tho. A hint of fennel seed taste makes this dish special.
Vietnamiens papaya mango salad: light and fresh, but this one is without any seafood taste like other papaya salad, eg fish sauce.
Tom yum soup with coconut cream: okay.
Will come back.
