The Rochelle Canteen at The ICA is a fantastic addition to the original Rochelle Canteen in Shoreditch. A great menu in a casual setting with fantastic service, definitely worth a visit. It’s not cheap, but the food is definitely worth it. I’ll be back...
One of my most enjoyable meals in London. A lot of focus on the ingredients and their natural flavour, not much unnecessary emphasis on rich dressing or presentation.
Great restaurant. The cooking is absolutely on point - the quail is as good as they all say. Really good value too. Hard to find fault.
The filing in the rabbit and trotter pie was fabulous, but the suet crust was to die for! I would go back again just for that pie... Great service, lovely puddings too. What now could you want?
Highly recommended! An example of how great a British restaurant can be. It strays a little from the orthodox St John style of cooking, bringing a variety of other flavours into dishes, but delivered a stunning Sunday lunch! Went upstairs to the restaurant area at 21.25 to be told that no tables were available (a few were free but could have been reserved) but the bar downstairs had a small menu. At the bar, service was unhurriedly cool and was told no sandwiches or cheese toasties were left. Was offered the boiled egg
Simply put: The best simple/not simple British, local, seasonal, thoughtful food you will find.
The ICA cafe is a lovely hidden (almost) gem. Tucked away in the far corner of the venue you get a peek of the art for free as you walk to the cafe. This is one of my favourite places for a quick coffee in between work meetings. They have a small but excellent cake and sandwich menu. Only slightly l
