Reviews Orasay

Simply one of the best restaurants in London. I’ve come here numerous times over the last few years since Orasay opened and I have never left disappointed. One of the best things about Orasay is that the menus is always slightly different every time we come. This means that dishes which we have previously enjoyed are forever cemented in memory as being phenomenal, whereas if we were to return and order the same thing again, there is always room for criticism. However, this being said, one plate which has become somewhat of a staple and in my opinion quite iconic, is the potato bread with cod’s roe. I don’t know what they do to that thing in the kitchen, but it’s bloody fantastic. There are few restaurants in the city which are as undeniably stylish, delicious and charming without pretence as Orasay. I hope to return many times over the coming years.

Food was unbelievable! Really great variety of creative seafood dishes. Atmosphere was relaxed and romantic. Service was also incredible, felt very taken care of. Wine selection looked good, but we did opt for some cocktails which were very tasty. Also dog friendly! Can’t recommend enough

I can not believe this restaurant is real. The food was absolutely incredible! I will admit, checking in was a bit hectic & think that process could be smoother. Overall our meal was pure magic. Deborah was our waitress & she is by far the best. She did an excellent job of recommending the right dishes to get and the proper portions. Ultimately, the stand out star was the crab pasta! Oh my goodness it is is delectable. Wow. After 3 appetizers & 2 mains, we ended up getting all three desserts! I highly recommend this. We had no regrets with the portion sizes or trying everything. @Deborah, you did an excellent job of making this an absolute superb experience. Your patience and pure joy made this five star dining❤️

One of the best restaurants I’ve been to lately. Beautifully cooked modern European food with seasonal and sustainable ingredients. The atmosphere was nice, the staff were really nice and attentive and the food was superb. The John Dory and the potato bread with whipped cod’s roe were definitely the stars of the show! Highly recommend visiting

Warm and cozy atmosphere with friendly staffs. They’re so patient with us taking our time to order. Very nice Chardonnay. Love all their smaller plates for sharing. The cod’s roe with potato bread and squids were delicious. Bread with lovely texture and flavour. The butter was so good. We ordered the sea urchin which was fresh and full of umami flavour. The only let down is the turbot. It’s a very small portion. More like a turbot filet which we find it’s quite pricey. If we didn’t listen to the staff to order more dishes to share, we could have room to try their desserts. Perhaps have to go back again to find out if the desserts are any good.

The food is simply fantastic while the environment is a comfortable smart casual atmosphere. It's Michelin star quality food with friendly laid-back service and manageable prices. They typically have 10-12 snacks or starters and around 4 mains on the menu. I prefer to get 6-8 starters and 1 main all to share, it's the kind of place where if something looks a little interesting, you should get it and it will probably exceed expectations.

I'd highly recommend going to Orasay with company so that you can share as many of their dishes as possible. I started with the Gallagher Atlantic oyster sea buckthorn with lime leaf. It was beautiful, fresh, spicy and it left a lingering aftertaste long after eating. I also had the pig head croquettes with burnt pear - the meat was slow cooked and melting in the mouth, quite a nice appetizer. The star of the meal for me was Orasay's signature dish - Isle of Mull diver scallop with shiitake mushrooms and vin jaune. I can't even begin to describe the flavour. Possibly one of the best and most umami dishes you'll ever try. All I can say is that after having one, you'll want to have it time and time again. I'm salivating just thinking about it. Do not miss out on trying it! I had the wood grilled gurnard with pink potatoes and peppers as a main - it's a meaty fish that was beautifully cooked and 100% worth trying because it's not a fish you can try everywhere. For a desert, I had the chocolate mousse with hazelnuts, which was quite heavy but also morish. I'll be back again for sure, this time with friends to make sure I try everything on the menu 🤤

Great place for a seafood dinner. Everything was delicious! Don’t miss the cod roe with chips, crab meat with tomatoes , grilled plaice and chocolate mousse. Oysters are at 50% off on Tue-Thu evenings , which is a real bonus!

Showed up unannounced on a Friday and still room for us. The cool thing is that you can be on the terrace with heaters. It’s the kind of place where you share place. Don’t think about just getting yours. Perfect for a date a bit costly if it’s the first one and you pay. Still a good spot if you like good food in one of the good road of notting hill. The food and service were amazing. Great choice of wine. I will recommend the oysters and the cod on what I tried as it was amazing and also the two dessert. Enjoy

Holy moly. Everything we had was delicious. Don’t miss the haddock bun and the cod roe. Cosy spot near portobello rd so you can cruise the markets after and just hang in Notting Hill

A night of good food @orasay.london @jackson_boxer The food was fabulous: pickles & ferments, followed by oysters with raspberry; unusual taste combination for me, but very tasty, loved brioche with row, and the beautiful presentation and flavours of the cod; best cod I've tasted. The beautifully presented desserts were fabulous. The raspberry sobet with smoked creme and passion fruit on a black plate looked and tasted wondeful, although it seemed more like a granita. I was delighted that your desserts did not contain any alcohol. I absolutely abhor alcohol and I am constantly having to ask at restaurants if alcohol is in their desserts, which it inevitably is, especially chocolate mousse. Your chocolate mousse with caramel was a delight, I especially loved what looked like chocolate shards, but turned out to be delicious honeycomb shards. Overall a fabulous experience would most definitely visit again.

Had an excellent lunch here. Staff were super friendly and so accommodating for our baby girl (no high chair but it wasn’t an issue as she ate before we did and went down for a nap). The food was delicious and so well presented. Highly recommend.

Really delicious Daily Catch set menu at the moment. Particularly enjoyed the gurnard dish- the grilled calamari was excellent. Wasn't a huge fan of the wine pairing though, especially the dessert wine. Looking forward to coming back for the oyster happy hour from 4-5 pm on Tuesdays-Thursdays

Fantastic seafood restaurant. My wife and I had a great meal at Orasay and will definitely be going back. The John Dory in particular was out of this world (photo below). Doesn't look super pretty but is it every delicious.
