French restaurant with a set menu in Stoke Newington. Seats about 20 people so has a lovely atmosphere. All five courses were tasty and pleasantly portioned. Staff were friendly and chatty (if you start the conversation). We celebrated our anniversary so I would definitely recommend for a special occasion
An excellent Saturday dinner at Ceres. It was May and we had a menu full of local spring veg and herbs. As appetisers goat cheese donuts with a superb texture. Delicious fish and meat cooked to perfection, with the right seasoning and sides: wild garlic, padron peppers, asparagus, jersey royals…
Surprising dessert, I loved the balance of sweet, acid and bitter (delicious banana ice cream, meringue, passion fruit and dark chocolate)
Curated wine list, lovely lovely service and (female) chef full of passion.
Congratulations to you ladies.
the ambience and service at this local new restaurant are well above 5*. we went for dinner during one of their Tuesday seafood-themed evenings, and enjoyed a five course tasting menu with wine pairing for just £45, which was really super value for money. food was a mix of very good (oysters, octopus) and good (pear tart, cod, mussles). homemade rye bread and (shop-bought) butter were not on par with the rest. food portions were a bit on the small side (at least the cod and octopus, the others were ok) while the wine was abundant and of very good quality. I'd recommend changing the glasses between wines if doing the wine pairing, not only when switching white/red. overall a very good experience.
Fantastic taster menu in a very cosy setting. The hostess was amazing and very accommodating. We unfortunately had to rush off quickly and asked the staff if they could help serve the food quicker than normal so we could leave and they all managed to pull together the food in a very quick fashion without skimping on service and quality. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.
We came here for my boyfriend’s birthday and loved the early spring menu they had. We Also have the wine paring- love it!
Somehow never made it to the restaurant pre-lockdown despite living 3 mins away. We finally had dinner on our wedding anniversary last week. Outstanding food at a fair price and friendly service. Don't be put off if asked to pay in advance as they only have around 5 tables and small restaurants like this won't survive with inconsiderate no-showers. The tiramisu you see in my photo (with accompanying coffee granita) is without doubt the best I've eaten - even in Italy.
We decided to try Ceres as one of our last meals before our baby arrives. It was worth it! Each course was beautifully presented and delicious. When I asked how many ppl there are in the kitchen preparing the food, I learned its a solo female chef on her own, which took us by complete surprise (!) Lovely meal, probably one of the best desserts I have had! Although I wish the dining chairs were comfier too as that’s important when you’re pregnant! Thank you for the feast!
What an amazing surprise this restaurant is! Delicious food, friendly staff, beautiful decoration and in one of my favourite areas if north London. Good price for value. 100% recomendable
We started off with a bottle of lovely Italian wine. You can tell the wine menu has been carefully selected. The food was a dream. You don't expect to find this standard of food in Newington Green! Truly, a fine dining experience. Pictures speak for themselves. Will be coming back.
Exciting tasting menu which is great value and absolutely delicious.
The waiter was also extremely knowledgeable & passionate, she taught us so much about wine in a really approachable way.
Is the perfect place for dinner with people who love their food. I'm planning to come back each time the menu changes!
