Best fish and chips in London! Prices are fair for the generous amount they give you. We asked for our chips extra crispy and they turned out perfect. Would recommend this place!

Probably some of the best fish and chips I've ever had. The batter is light and crispy, and not too oily. Prices are insanely good for the area and quality, £11 for regular cod and chips.

I cannot rate the atmosphere being it was a miserable wet evening & we were the only customers there. The service was good though, not that there was a huge amount of interaction, but the guys in the restaurant were friendly & polite & service was attentive. The food though was really good - especially the fish. We shared cod & chips. The chips were good, the fish exceptional - light on the batter & flaky, meaty cod steak inside that was perfectly cooked. I think it was £13-50 which is reasonable for London. We don't eat that much of fish & chips - as the quality & taste varies so much but we followed the reviews & agreed, this was hands down the best we've ever had. Well done Hoxton Fish House...!

I got the chicken and chips which were fried up freshly for me and worth the wait. Staff were friendly and polite. These were the best chips I've had in a very long time. I'd definitely recommend and it is well ahead of any other chip shops in the area

Proper place! Went at almost closing, was treated marvelous. Their fish and chips are probably some of the best, not the common cheap greasy stuff you find all over; lean and smooth!

The food was really delicious and we all got a big portion. We didn't go home hungry. The price is good for what you get. Would definitely eat here again.

Hoxton Fish House is located on Pittfield Street between De Mezca (Turkish restaurant) and Friends of Mine (coffee shop) about 250 meters from Old Street. While it features a prominent neon sign it is not distinctive and easily missed. The interior is rustic and well appointed compared to more traditional fish and chips shops. There are two long and narrow tables that offer seating on stools or chair accommodating about twelve people. The menu includes the staples of pies, sausages, burgers, chicken and fish featuring a kids menu and five salads. The fish menu is its strongest offering with fresh cod, skate, rock, sea bass, haddock and scampi in offer priced between £10.95 and £14.95. The only grilled fish on the menu is the salmon fillet. The menu also features beers, wine and sodas. The most popular option - which I selected after being promoted by the waitress - seems to be their lunch special which run from 12 to 5 in the afternoon and includes a generous fish & chips portion, a small portion of tartar sauce and a choice of a cold or warm drink for £7.90. A cup of tea or coffee is on the house for customers that choose a soda or water as their drink. Each order is battered and cooked fresh which makes the fish crispy and not oily. The chips are also fresh and cooked to a soft cruchy consistency. While not a fan of fish and chips, Hoxton Fish House serves a fresh tasty variation. The service is extremely friendly and efficient - especially from the waitresses who are incredibly polite and attentive. However be advised Hoxton Fish Shop is a cash only establishment. Unlike other similar shops that dispense sachets of sauce and vinager, these guys put hole bottles at your disposal. Hoxton Fish House is definetly worth a visit for no frills freshly cooked fish.
