Great pub good food, ideal for just a nice pint, which they have good selection including there own brew. They have a good menu which is cooked when ordered by two chef's who are on public view.

The Castle Tooting... The london bake!... gorgeous place! Really good lunch followed by a bake off... brilliant experience! Even managed to bake an edible tart lol... Rochelle... what can I say about Rochelle except that she is a star! So warm & friendly & helpful! Would not have been the same without her... we loved meeting you Rochelle and we def appreciated the help have recommended the experience and will def be back! X
Impressed to see biodegradable straws in use. Fab place, and the beer garden is to die for!
The castle has absolutely everything you need, it has a brilliant team of staff who are helpful, fun and friendly, the building and decor is top notch and then the food and drink is absolutely brilliant, hands down best pub in London!!!!!
It was a lovely experience. Some kind people kepted an eye on my little dog as I had to pop into blue arrow. £8 quid for a large wine was a wee bit pricey, it's Tooting not Kensington/Chelsea. However the food was really nice and well precented. I had the Cumberland sausage with mash and gravy. I shared my suasage with doggy as I'm veggi.
It’s no sin to want a gin or sublime to want a wine. It doesn’t hurt your crotch to have a scotch and there’s no fear in having a beer. Come to the the Castle in Tooting, where you’ll have some much fun we’ll be Booting you out into Tooting!
Really cool pub with a nice ambience and setting. Went for a friends birthday and pop quiz. The quiz was super fun and the food was good. Ordered a vegetarian burger with fries.
The latest place Tim and I visited for our tour of local pubs and restaurants for Sunday Lunch was The Castle in Tooting, last weekend. This time we took my Mum, who was visiting for the weekend (and our first official ‘guest’ in our new home, which was exciting!) I was a little bit nervous – my Mum can do an epic sunday roast, and living in Yorkshire, I imagine she has a whole host of great Sunday Lunch venues on her doorstep.
Went for a family lunch. We liked it. Mum had the chicken roast and cheese board for dessert and the in law & I had the beef roast and the chocolate brownie for dessert. Wanted the lamb but it was sold out. The beef was a bit well done to our liking but it was still nice. If the brownie was warm, it would have taken the dessert to another level. Will be coming back with my brother & sister as it is a nice pub, has a nice vibe and the staff were friendly and helpful.
This is a nice modern pub with a good atmosphere. The bar service is usually quick so not much waiting around for drinks. I've also never had a bad pint from here unlike some other pubs. I have not had any good there ever so I cannot comment on that.
It's nicely appointed inside with a restaurant-type part towards the back. There is a huge outside area with pod things for groups to sit in. Again, the atmosphere out here is great. The only issue with the outside is that it shuts at 10pm I think!
Overall a really great pub. I like.
The roast dinners are amazing in this pub, expensive but very tasty. Pigs in blankets have gone up since I was last here. I think small ones should really come with your meal, as £7.50 is very expensive for two fat sausages with bacon.
The desserts are also very tasty.
Nice busy pub with a nice friendly atmosphere.
Would highly recommend coming here.
Great pub in the heart of Tooting and the garden is a beauty to behold.
They also run fun baking classes - a la bake off.
The place is huge and with a small bar the wait times for drinks are notoriously long but it's a cracker of an establishment to meet friends.
Took my family here for dinner and would gladly do so again. Friendly, attentive service and wonderful food options. My husband had fish & chips, which were among the best he has ever had. My daughters and I had the burgers, which were exceptional. Great beer options as well.
Lovely, bright restaurant, with a skylight letting in the natural light. Lively, but not noisy.

🍺 £5.70 Pravha
❤️ A huge modern Youngs pub.
.
The Castle is located in the beating heart of Tooting on busy Tooting High Street. The nearest tube is Tooting Broadway, a statue of Edward VII is at the front of the station.
.
The Castle is one of Tooting’s oldest pubs and has been part of the Young’s estate since 1832. There is lots of folklore and history attached to this pub, American actor John Wayne is known for frequenting The Castle in the 1940s. In the 1970s, the pub had an excellent reputation for live music and hosted the Tooting Blues Club and bands The Faces and Mott the Hoople.
.
This is a massive pub, it was extensively refurbished in 2014 and tweaked a bit more recently. The decor here is contemporary with industrial and traditional touches throughout. The well lit servery is situated at the right hand side as you walk in, further down the bar there is what looks like a sizeable breakfast bar which then leads to a cosy dining area and conservatory at the back. Next is the huge and popular beer garden, the garden is partly covered and also has some comfy weathered timber huts to chill in. Overall, the decor felt modern, stylish and very appealing.
.
This @youngspubs has a fine selection of beers including five cask options. This was my last pub of the day, so I took it easy and had a pint of Pravha. My pint was good and cost under six quid, so no complaints. The food menu serves up elevated pub classics, Fish & Chips costs £18, there is also a burger menu that looked top notch.
.
I visited around 4pm on a Saturday afternoon and the atmosphere was buzzing with an upbeat vibe. The punters were from all ages but predominantly a younger crowd. I went for a wander around the pub and I have to say this is an impressive boozer.
.
The @castletooting is a busy happening pub with a lively atmosphere. The beer choice was decent and not too pricey. The enormous beer garden must be up there with the best in London. If you’re down in SW17 then check this pub out folks.

Booked for a birthday party of 30 on a busy sunday at the castle and everything went well, we had to start drinks at the bar all served nice and quick, then the lovely and friendly server guide us to our table just in front of the kitchen were we could see the massive and good looking roasts coming out of the kitchen pass, we did ordered some and they tasted delicius!
Also the burgers and fish and chips that some guests had was good.
Nice experience at the castle.
We will be back soon.
Thank you to look after us team castle.
Had a lovely meal here with my daughter. A good choice of food. We chose to have 4 "small bites" to share rather than go for a main course.
Have not been here for a while. Went with family/friends for Saturday lunch. The Castle has really stepped up its game. Food was 10/10 (fish and chips/Castle burger). Really tasty, hot, fresh and good sized portions. Service was excellent, atmosphere lovely. Will definitely be back more often now.
What a great experience! Tim behind the bar helped us enjoy the night and gave us recommendations for clubs nearby! Great service! Would 100% recommend
Fabulous beer garden, fully decked out with bunting and groups can book garden huts which are lovely with individual screens and heaters for the great British weather!
Also, if dog friendly!!
Lovely staff too :)
We had an engagement celebration here, the team were very practive and helpful in the planning of the day, the setup was great and then they were kind and resourceful when we had more guests turn up then expected! Really happy with the overall experience and very grateful to the team for helping to make it a memorable celebration :)
A nice pub/tavern on tooting high street with a garden nice seating in the open air or inside cute kiosks which also have heating lamps.
Did not try the food but I could see it looked nice on others tables. You can either scan the barcode and order to your table or go grab a drink from the bar. Staff are so welcoming and quickly serve you. The decor inside and outside is nice and organized providing a relaxing ambiance
Gorgeous Sunday lunch. Lovely atmosphere. Brilliant pub to while away a couple of hours in the sun.
Still a lovely pub, and the food was just as delicious.
My only gripe this visit was that there were a lot of smokers this time. It being a sunny Bank Holiday it was very busy with lots of families and people eating. May I suggest to management an area in the garden towards the back for the smokers.
Beautiful decor. Very clean. Food - average. They could do much better with the desserts. Service can be quite poor at times especially over busy weekends.
My review (above) was from a few years ago. I am very happy to say service was very good this time and food arrived quite promptly and tasted much better! The young staff members were polite and energetic, keeping up with the swelling crowds. There are plenty of toilet booths, again to accommodate the massive crowd and space. Hence the toilets remain clean as well. I have no hesitation to give a 5 stars rating.
Fantastic Sunday lunch at the Castle. We had the pleasure being looked after by Chloe who was a super star nothing was to much trouble. Superb service, warn friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend the castle all in Sunday roast for anyone who can't decide as it's a little of everything and the Pork was cooked to perfection, the cracking 😋. Will definitely return and recommend to anyone who listens 😁. Thank you Chloe made our visit a lovely afternoon
Great bar and restaurant, the outside doesn't do it justice. The back area of the restaurant and covered garden are particularly lovely. The food was delicious and the staff were efficient and attentive. I had lamb and the potato dauphinoise was the star of the plate. They have an extensive drink selection which includes, beers, lagers, wines, cocktails and all the usual soft drinks and the food menu has a generous selection. All in all a great all rounder.
Really great outside area with lots of table and cosy covered booths for the winter. The inside of the pub is very large and they have an excellent selection of drinks. The only complaint is that the bar is quite small and can get crowded during busy periods. It's been a while since I had the food but I remember it being good.
