Just opened in the Royal Exchange Building is the new Italian restaurant, Panino Giusto. All the way over from Milan this outlet has been providing the chic Milanese residents excellently source products for over thirty years. Its now opened up in the City and I can definitely see this place doing well where it is, especially with lunchtime trade and those delicious Paninis.

All the dishes had names which sort of related to the dishes, i.e. Vancouver - mainly consisted of seafood, I couldn't quite work out the mentality behind it, maybe I should have asked for a press release before i arrived. I started with the Italiano, which was a huge platter of meats. Cured Parma ham, Praga ham, Bresaola, Speck and Mortadella with pistachio nuts. I couldn't fault any of them, they were all perfect and some of the best examples I have tried, if these were in my Panini I would be more than happy. The Praga ham definitely took hold of my soft side, and I certainly demolished its.
Maybe its just me and the places I have eaten but I can't say I have seen smoked salmon on an Italian menu before, it just doesn't seem right. Still, I had to try the Scandia dish. Lightly smoked red king wild Alaska salmon with warm bread, oh and a heart attack amounts worth of butter on the side. Now I know I'm only on my second starter but I've already noticed that Panino Giusto is not going to be about skill in the kitchen, it is solely relying on high quality ingredients cooked and prepared simply. And it works, the smoked salmon was lightly and beautifully smoked and was extremely flaky but still strong and meaty in texture. You could taste the quality.

Enough of ubiquitous poor quality sandwich places, Panino Guisto (highly established in Milan) brings lunchtime Italy to the city. With individually sourced and imported ingredients such as fabulous 24 month aged Parma ham and Braesola from Valtellina, quality produce stands out from their usual fair. Something as simple as this lives and dies on the quality produce especially in a such a food conscious and critical city such as this. Obviously not everything can be imported, such as the bread, but they have gone to lengths to ensure authenticity by sourcing a local Italian baker who makes the panino bread bespoke fresh daily. They also have a carefully selected wine list, which the staff will recommend pairings with paninos. Great wine and ham beings back good memories of being out in Italy.
Their stand out signatures include the Tartufo - Parma ham, brie, tomato, rocket and truffle infused olive oil.
Being situated next to Bank station and behind the Royal Exchange building, it is catering towards a higher end (suited) market, as such it is higher priced than what you expect elsewhere. It seats 30 upstairs and 60 downstairs, a simple but elegant affair. In addition to the paninos are more classical meat and fish dishes (no pizza/pasta!).
Wonderful service and atmosphere. It got very busy so there was a bit of a wait for our main course. I had the lasagne special, Salcisse and Buratta which was delicious.

Found this restaurant with a friend, when out and about in the city. It’s located in the Royal Exchange, though not inside; we chose to sit in the tables outside (risking the temperamental London weather) and couldn’t be more pleased - good food, friendly staff, excellent location and not very expensive (probably de biggest surprise).
It’s an Italian restaurant, and I feel we can never go wrong with the flavours of Italy 😅 speciality is lasagna - I had the fungi lasagna, my friend went for the spinach. Good portions, very tasty.
Staff was also Italian and quite attentive and friendly.
Service was quick (lunch hour, mid week). As I said not expensive (considering we were in the city of London!), but we didn’t have any alcohol which always cuts down a big chunk on the price.
Excellent Italian dinner near my office. generous portion, very good price.
Beautiful place, with great people, great service, and great food! They let us have an available patio table when we walked up with no reservation.
The portion sizes were plenty and we were all pleasantly full by the end of our dishes!
Service was quick and we were constantly taken care of as they checked on us and made sure we had everything we wanted to needed. When they found out that it was my dad's birthday, before we left they brought out chocolate stuffed cookies with a candle and sang him happy birthday!
A great experience overall.
Stopped for a birthday lunch for my Dad who loves lasagna - this was the perfect spot for that. Great food and service. Enjoyed the outdoor tables in the courtyard. Prices seemed quite reasonable, especially for the area. Would happily return!
Veet nice place with sitting area outside, if you love lasagna you must visit this place! Just the Parma ham was a bit too thick for the antipasti I chose
Great desserts, excellent sitting outside
Nutella lasagna 😋
Poor service
Fab italian food. worth coming in for pizza and amazing lasagna ❤️ absolutely delicious! very nice waiter and great service too. aperol spritz was great with the food
My first time at this restaurants and was outstanding, the pizza delicious, the lasagna average and the customer service awesome. I was served by two different waiters mainly a lady and a nice guy named Antoni that spoke Spanish, although it looked like the manager was there since he wasn’t dress like the waiters, they were doing almost all. Despite we had some delays on the service of what we ordered, which was out of their hands, they were always transparent with us and apologising for these, getting to a point where we forgot about the food since they made us have a good time and enjoy of our holiday.
The Food is really nice. Good atmosphere but the service was very slow. This won't stop me from going again.
