Consistently fine food and a seasonal, well-thought out menu is what makes De Beauvoir Arms our local pub of choice. Its terrific atmosphere also means that it's the perfect place to grab a pint in the summer when the windows and doors are thrown open, or the ideal spot to scramble inside to the roaring fire when the snow flurries are just about to begin.
I can never resist the rare bavette steak with new potatoes and salsa verde - heaven on a plate. The grilled lamb chops with pearl barley and pomegranate seeds are also incredibly delicious. Tender, generous portions cooked to perfection.
One of the finest pubs in the neighborhood, with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
This pub is situated on a road that is mainly residential and you would be lucky to call it your local. The place is huge; it has the kind of high ceilings which mean that noise echoes pleasantly around the place. It also manages to be warm and comfortable, dogs lie peacefully next to their owners, and there is a fireplace that is surrounded by sofas and low tables. I came to see a play that was on at the small theatre to the upstairs of the pub and was so impressed I was coaxed into staying for a drink both before and after the performance.
The huge bar that winds around the space serves a selection of well selected lagers, I had a pint of Kozel and a packet of crisps which came in a large packet and were delicious. I then had a glass of house white wine. I’m not quite sure what wine it was but it tasted crisp and dry and was lovely.
I will definitely be coming back for food. The kitchen is visible, located at the end of the bar, and adds to the homey feel of the place as it is adorned by the fresh produce that has been delivered.
The De Beauvoir Arms on is a delightful food orientated pub offering a fine selection of keg beers, just one cask ale (today) and an exemplary wine list. Service is as good as anyone could hope for and the club chairs are very comfy. A super place to stop off and put the world to rights.
One of the pubs with the best food in the area, such a great spot to spend your Sunday outside! If you want to eat keep in mind that the kitchen takes a break between 4pm and 6pm.
Great place to meet locals. Beers was fresh and delicious and the food was great. Had olives (£3.5) and chorizo (£9), best Spanish cuisine in town!
A lovely roast with all the trimmings! The outdoor area is great when the weather holds up. Would definitely recommend on a Sunday. You cannot book a table here but it is worth the wait.
You can always trust the £8 lunch at De Beauvoir Arms. Beautiful and satisfying. Feed me well and get me energised for my Improv training (which is upstairs).
Different menu each day, and always good.
Absolutely love it. I wish I live next to it so this could be my canteen.
I thoroughly recommend a visit to The De Beauvoir Arms! The staff and management were incredibly kind, generous and friendly. The food was sensational and the bottle of wine we shared was fantastic! They went above and beyond, and I think it's a testament to this wonderful pub that it was so busy (for food and drink) on a Tuesday evening after work. A true gem of a pub, and we'll definitely be back!
Great people running the place and exceptional food. Also no music which I prefer. They love dogs which is nice for buddy.
Good food, always seems popular so good to get there early. The food serving started at 6 when we were there. There are improv comedy nights there too (check the Free Association website for details).
Wow, is the only way I can describe the Sunday roast I had here! This pub has been on my doorstep for the last 9 months and this was the first time I’d been. Why?! The roast pork was delicious as was the apple crumble I had to follow (I wasn’t even hungry!) I cannot wait to go back, just reviewing this makes me hungry. Don’t pass by (unless I’m in need of a table!) too good to miss. I’ll be back.
Update 18/3/18:
Came back for another roast pork and the apple & rhubarb crumble. Unfortunately it was a disappointment this time. Both the roast and the crumble were cold in the middle and piping hot on the outside. I had high hopes as it was so good last time. I’m fortunate enough to live in the area and there are a lot of great pubs around, so will be sampling more now.
Service as always was quick and friendly.
An absolutely phenomenal place for a weekday lunch. £7 (excl. service charge) for what always is a treat of a meal. You’d be easily paying 3 times that if you were served this in central London for dinner. The portions ain’t the biggest but it’s always fresh and delicious. 3 different options on the menu every day between 1200 and 1500 (come early before they run out!). This almost makes me look forward to the working week. Compliments to the chef and the whole team!
Very impressed by the pork roast. The gravy was fantastic!
Great Sunday pub lunch when the weather permits. Their terrace area is lovely and good for people watching. A local spot situated at the heart of De Beauvoir. Food is hearty and fresh, lots of options for a Sunday roast at a fair price. Popular spot so may have to wait for a table.
Wonderful late lunch today at De Beauvoir, food was delicious, I ordered the rump steak, while my friend had the lamb meatballs. Both of us had clean plates by the end !
The staff were lovely also.
Superb chicken pie today! Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. First time in this pub but certainly not the last.
It was a delightful evening with a friendly atmosphere, excellent food and nice wine; what else do you want from a local pub

The best pub in the area! If you are expecting just standard pub food you are just half right. They have traditional meals but cooked and served like modern cuisine with incredible flavours. They have a daily menu with different courses most of the days. The staff is simply great and it is possible to enjoy the beergarden when weather is nice. Highly recommendable!
