Lovely place! Food was yummy. Prosecco a bit pricey at £25 but was the nicest one we had all day.
......fine selection of beers, excellent service, hearty breakfast ...... a lovely room..... and a peaceful spot off the beaten track ... and just close to the sidewalk! Would thoroughly recommend.
What a quaint, beautiful tucked away oasis of a pub. There burgers are on point. We had the smash burger which could easily own the the Big Mac and their fries were crispy and fluffy. Service was friendly, we felt like locals! And it's family and dog friendly.
A great Sunday roast in an area where other pubs only have pizza now. Some good craft beer on tap. My recommendation is to sit on the west side to avoid the cigarette smoke from the lane. The food is exceptional and well portioned if slightly on the bougie side.
i've always been a bit fascinated by this pub, it's got that funny little passageway from mare street which leads you into a gem of a pub.
their specialty is rotisserie chicken and after checking the website, they do half price on tuesdays... so a whole chicken for £8! we added some mac and cheese and some fries on the side.
10/10 for value. also a very cute pub with screens for football!
Stayed here for two nights. Very quiet upper room considering the lively pub down below. The surrounding neighborhood has limited choices for breakfast and lunch, but if you are willing to walk a bit, the options are better. Would stay here again.
Nice and tidy little room, great burgers and friendly people! What would you need else!? Had a great stay here and definitely can recommend the Old Ship!

We had such a nice stay in this part of London. The rooms are good, very good considering the price and location. The staff is chill and always helpful, and the bartenders and staff of the pub are so charming and easy going. We would go again in a heartbeat, no question! Thanks for having us 🤗
Nice food, had burger with chips and both were good and tasty. Friendly atmosphere with helpful and attentive staff, helped with food and drink selection. The entrance is a small blue tunnel so make sure not to overlook it, they also have tables out the back aswell. I enjoyed the meal and would go there again.
The Old Ship, tucked neatly down an alley in Hackney is a brilliant pub come restaurant. The stand out point is the staff, all working hard to allow me not to. Just popped in for a pint, wedding in full swing, diners and drinkers too. Everyone has a smile, well done. If you are in Hackney seek this place out!

I was staying one night and it was really a great room! I am coming from Germany to visit London and the room was really good, definitely will booking again. The room was quite big (had a king size bed) and a separate bathroom. Also a big Couch and I love the big space. The bed was so comfortable! Definitely a good place to stay
The best Sunday roast I've had this year, what a gem of a pub. Amazing service (wouldn't even accept a tip!?!), top notch rotisserie chicken (you have to try it to believe how tasty it is) and just all round lovely. Can't wait to come back again, will be my go-to for roasts from now on. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it
Recently visited the restaurant/bar and what a little gem it turned out to be. Hidden via a alley from the main street, entering through the doors opens out into spacious space with a lovely bar centred around the tables. The food is amazing and I highly recommendable jerk chicken (either the wings or the rotisserie) - amazing flavour with so much depth. Service was excellent and cannot be faulted, atmosphere was very hip. Will definitely be revisiting!
Good location, good rooms, a bit smallish with creaking floors, clean toilets, room came with all the basic things and ample tea and coffee supplies, friendly and helpful staff, food was great at the pub with great ambiance !
Not my favourite place, although there's nothing overly wrong with it. Not a great spirit selection available, which is what swung it for me.
Located in a great area. Not only the room are nices but their roasted chicken is amazing. Plus they have a great choice of beers.
