Amazing beer and super quick service for how busy it was!! The security guard was unnecessarily rude, which put a damper on the experience. I would advise not interacting with him. However, if you head upstairs you will find plenty of extra seating which negated the need for us to be outside near hi
Great venue! Stopped over on the journey to a friends in London Bridge and the bar manager Courtney recommended a drink which was great and shared his knowledge of Stouts! Ended up staying for a couple, would definitely recommend and looking forward to visiting again!
One of the best brewpubs I have visited in the UK, and that is quite a recommendation. Easy to get to from London Bridge or Bermondsey tube stations it is situated under the BR railway in an arch, like so many great breweries in this area. As a fan of dark ales the London Black surpassed my expecta
London Black. Not only the most visually pleasing pint in the city, but also the best tasting dark beer that money can buy. Been waiting a long time to try this pint, it did not disappoint. Velvet mouthfeel with subtle liquorish notes, slightly toasty and ridiculously moorish. Also shout out to the
Here’s the deal…this brewery alone is in a global fight to tell the world that there is a porter that just slays anything else related to the category. And when you have picked your jaw up from the floor after tasting this black nectar, you will want to try their cask bitter that should rearrange e
Came here last Saturday doing the beer mile. Great selection of beers and great staff. Valentino the security guard was very polite and helpful which makes a change from most door staff I’ve met. An absolute pleasure.
Neat place to have a drink and laugh with mates, decent bar, staff are nice. The security guy Valentino was great at the door, greeting us in and out. Plus he held a great conversation. Will definitely be back!!
Absolutely fantastic venue. As a landlord myself the host was great and very accommodating. Beers were superb and great price. It’s been 18months since my last visit and all I can say is…… keep it up you’re doing great. Good luck for the future despite the unnecessary aggro. Well done 👍🏼🍺🍺🍺
Have walked past this taproom many times on the CRUK Shine Night Walk so was excited to finally pay it a visit for a drink! Great selection of ales, friendly knowledgeable staff, good atmosphere inside the small taproom, would definitely recommend it as a stop for anyone on the Bermondsey Beer Mile
Another lynchpin of the Bermondsey Beer Mile. I particularly applaud Anspach & Hobday for taking on one of the world’s most popular brands with their ‘London Black’ - which was very nice indeed, offering a little more punch and flavour at the ABV than their rival. Their bitter’s pretty good too.
London Black is a good enough reason to visit, but there are enough other gems here to make the visit worth your while. Great spot for beers.
Great beer and venue, Courtney was a a great host; thanks to Courtney for recommending me and my friends on the chilli shots. Would highly recommend.
Nice wee brewery we stumbled across on our weekend away, the staff & specifically Courtney were incredibly helpful & polite with our selections, will be coming back for sure!!
One of my favourite breweries along the Beer Mile. Happy to find their London Black in many pubs across the city.
Great selection of beers brewed by A&H and served in a calm atmosphere. No noisy music, great for having a good conversation with the staff talking about their beer products!
Valentino was a true gent, weird policy that you can’t bring drink outside without sitting but Valentino the security guy let me sit outside on his chair with my girlfriend even though there wasnt enough seats. Top bloke
Excellent Anspach and Hobday taproom in a Bermondsey railway arch. Two cask beers on handpump when I visited for the CAMRA South East London AGM.
