The starters were all fantastic and especially the lobster salad. The place is great.
Lovey food, staff and what a room!
Amazing restaurant. Quite unique for this location.
Seafood is your reason for coming to Neptune, a new restaurant inside the refurbished Principal hotel in Russell Square. Everyone orders the seafood platter and it’s easy to see why - very fresh, no fillers and quite creative. Friendly servers make sure that your dietary needs are met. Much care has been given to the interior design - it’s bold, cheeky and just the right amount of kitsch.
We stayed at the hotel and enjoyed breakfast / brunch and dinner there. The staff is absolutely dedicated and I could only thank them again for taking care of us ! Food is really good but yes I would say a bit pricey. The place is also super nice, cosy and feels warm.
Decor and ambiance top notch. Food good. Wine and service lovely.
Excellent food, wonderful service. Beautiful restaurant. My lobster, catch of the day was superbly cooked and presented.
We loved the Food, Service and Atmosphere!
Beautiful room. Very nice and attentive service. Limited lunch vegetarian/vegan options.
Had a good time overall. Stylish decor, nice ambience, friendly and professional staff. The hotel decor as a whole - so not related to restaurant - can be discombobulating at times as you get totally different decorations, themes and sounds as you move into different rooms (something I discovered while navigating the hotel to get to the toilets). We had seafood platter, sour bread with seaweed butter, chips and virgin cocktails. With service charge it amounted to £31.50 each which was okay. Seafood was good but not mindblowing; fun place to go to overall.
My girlfriend and I had dinner there and we liked it so much we returned for brunch. The brunch was particularly great, with excellent food and in a stunning unique setting. The team went above and beyond to take care of us (Adam did great and Jonathan gave us the best welcome we’ve ever had in London). Highly recommend to anyone looking for great food and a great environment.
the venue is gorgeous, the food delicious and the service is fantastic. If you can't make dinner, you can always sit up at the oyster bar for some seafood and a drink. Easily one of the coolest restaurants in London
Excellent quality seafood and attentive service in a stunning restaurant. A friend and I enjoyed a delightful lunch here - it looks like it would be an amazing place for drinks as well. Looking forward to returning for dinner.
Service 5/5 - great, anticipatory and lovely wait staff. The barman on a Monday is excellent. The gent who seemed to be the manager was fab.
Starters 5/5 - fantastic bread, crudo and chowder.
Mains 3/5 - lobster super small , sole had little flavour even though it was covered in capers and butter. Sides were lovely especially the tomatoes.
Dessert 2/5 - Yuzu tart was too lactic and pastry was unappetising. The cheesecake tasted like cottage cheese.
Space 5/5 - felt special and really interesting, lovely design across the plates, menus and bill.
Advice: improve the pastry and overall dessert menu. Charge for shellfish by the pound or kilo (sets customers expectations). Felt quite expensive overall, pricing by weight could help with this.
What a delightful and divine situation. I loved the decadent seafood platter, tasty chowder, delicious Nero d’Avolo red wine and wanted to make love to the cheesecake.
I will be back VERY soon. Also big shouts out to the wonderful decor which I felt very comfortable sweeping around in and love to FOH team who are very accommodating and gracious. 🧡
I went to Neptune restaurant and bar for my birthday. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. We were served by the waiter Adam. To add cherry to the top of the cake the waiter Henrique bought the most delicious chocolate ice cream mousse cake. It was a fun night over all. Must visit.
The ambience is perfectly curated. Unique, kitsch yet familiar enough. It was like stepping into a modern interpretation of a fine 60s/70s establishment, but with a real human touch. The wine list, which was put together by Isabelle Legaron has some utterly fantastic natural wines, and we were very grateful to Andrew Di Sora for so expertly recommending great natural champagne, lambrusco and a Loire Valley red. The recommendations were all perfect for the summer. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, and I'm pleased to report that there is a special vegetarian menu! Highly recommended!
Excellent place. Excellent food. Excellent service.
