The best pub in London. The best pub in London. The best pub in London.
Really one of the best Pub Sunday lunches I’ve had. Great atmosphere, lovely staff, table for 10 in the heart of the main room and very large portions.
I had the pork belly which had fantastic crackling and was stacked high. Others had the beef (delivered to order rare/medium/well) and the chicken. All great portions with cauliflower, carrots, long stem broccoli, Yorkshire puds, great roast spuds and gravy.
4 hour lunch and no one asking us to hurry up.
Great!
Had a great meal for 4, didn't book, staff very friendly. The lamb was amazing, as was the fishcake. Would strongly recommend, and will be back. Thanks
My absolute favourite local, amazing food, great wine selection that are updated regularly and the best landlord - Jonny! Another lovely meal tonight with the super friendly Jade serving us :) thanks guys xx
Very nice meal didn't book. V friendly staff reasonable prices and nice ales. All round good experience will be back.
Had a last minute table for us on Sunday for lunch, food was excellent and the service very good.
The finest local !
Great food and fantastic staff
There was a large group of us & we were made so welcome. The roast was excellent & the service warm& friendly. Will return ASAP.
Lovely staff and amazing lamb shoulder. We came with 8 month old ridgeback puppy, got a nice spot and clean water for him. Thumbs up!
AMAZING! The atmosphere, the staff and the food... Definitely a place to visit again! And we live just around the corner ;)
Simply beautiful, nice chef, nice weather, excellent food, very well place !!
Great food and THE most friendly staff. Went there last September for our anniversary dinner and they actually gave us a standing ovation guard of honour as we left. Best service I have ever had.
Delicious food every time!! Try the fish!
Exceptional food and service. We will be back for sure.
A very nice place, warm welcome and great service.
Handsome pub. Pity that the pretty conservatory area at the back smells of cigarette smoke from the punters in the beer garden. We sat in the restaurant area, although the pub area is the most atmospheric, I think. Service was quick.
We only had an afternoon snack here, but my simple watermelon, feta and mint salad was very good. Watermelon was de-seeded and everything was fresh, very well balanced and at a pleasantly cool temperature (not straight from the fridge cold). There were some finely diced red shallots on the salad and it came dressed with a drizzle of olive oil. Very easy to execute, I know, but the flavors were so beautifully balanced.
We intend to come back for dinner.
Went here last night and was pleasantly surprised, a beautiful main of duck confit with an amazing garlic mash and tender stem broccoli followed by an even more incredible creme brûlée. Stuck to the house wine which was really nice and rounded off with a decent macchiato. Good friendly service and a nice crowd. Will be back soon !
Loved it!. It had been a while since I had eaten at the Junction Tavern but it was such a pleasure to find it still delivering the goods that I decided to take the plunge and post here.
To start my girlfriend had deep fried whitebait which were delicious and I had mussels served with merguez sausage and chilli. For those who don't know, and I certainly didn't before I googled it, merguez is a spicy north african sausage. It is true that even though the mussels were moist, their taste was a little overpowered by the strong flavour of the sausages but overall I really enjoyed the dish.
For main course, I had duck served with mash, spring greens and a mustard jus and I loved every hearty, warming mouthful. My girlfriend had rib eye steak which was delicious; the meat was cooked to perfection and just melted in the mouth and it was served with hand cut chips which were crisp and dry.
I have a bit of a sweet tooth and finished off taking the advice of our waitress and having a lemon posset with amaretti biscuits. It was a wonderfully fruity way to end the meal.
The service was great, we were at our table a little early and, even though they had another sitting booked for 9pm, we never felt rushed and were able to meander through our meal at our own pace. We were given great wine suggestions as well; I had a glass of sauvignon blanc with the starter followed by nero d'avola with the duck and they matched very well.
It is on the expensive side but the food, wine and service are just as good as I'd remembered. For a special occasion or perhaps a bit of impromptu indulgence I'd definitely recommend it.
That last review is so unfair. So I want to correct this! I took some friends here this evening and had a fantastic meal. Everything was perfect, including the fact that the manager even remembered who I was and made me and my guests really welcome. The food is fantastic yes a little bit more pricey but the quality and cooking more than makes up for it. The menu changes daily with half a dozen seasonal choices for each course. I enjoyed mozzarella (very fresh) with braised pear and toasted pumpkin seeds. Follow by a perfectly cooked rare steak. The beer is good and great to be able to try the guest beers. I have no hesitation in recommending the Junction Tavern. Don't be a cheapskate and pay for the quality and expertise. But book cos it's busy. Not many restaurants are like that in London on a Monday!
The Pork Belly was bursting with ambrosial piggyness, cushioned by floaty mash and accompanied by a bean casserole that had spice and stewed goodness.
On a sunny Sunday evening we pondered where to eat wishing to stay local. This would usually be a no brainer as Del Parc is just across the road but they are closed on Sundays. So, instead we ventured down the road to The Junction Tavern . We used to eat
The best word to describe The Junction Tavern is "traditional". Founded in 1885, it's no wonder the wood panelling, wooden floors and candles almost create a sense of nostalgia for the Victorian era. Despite its size, it still feels warm, bustly and cosy.
This is pub grub at its absolute finest. I had the grilled plaice with a crayfish butter which was divine. My friends had the chicken with lentils and the duck breast and they were both extremely happy with their orders.
It does get busy, but the service was consistently fantastic. I called on a Saturday night asking if I could have a table in an hour’s time and they moved some tables around to make space. Definitely a favourite of mine.
As busy as a busy thing! The Junction Tavern is humming. Lovely offering of both keg and cask. Service is spot on. Half the pub is given over to a restaurant area but empty on my visit whilst pub part and conservatory was rammed, perhaps the reason? People like to dine in the absence of raucous accompaniment. I don't know but, saw a very popular venue with lots of happy people. I enjoyed my Amstel. Lovely staff behind the bar.
My parents and I went in this place randomly for lunch and had a very nice surprise! The place looks great, the food was amazing and the staff was very friendly and helpful!
For reference, we had the fish and chips, the Beef & Guinness pie with cheddar mash and a pan roasted sea-bream with beetroot risotto - all of which were very good!
Solid, tasty, juicy and generous Sunday roast. There's also a family roast option for 4-6 people in the menu which is quite a good option for groups or... families. Good selection of wines and beers. Good service. The pub itself is quite pretty, clean and well maintained.
Popped in for a roast . Dog friendly . Decent sized potion and filling - £23 pound for a ginger beer and a Sunday roast beef with trimmings .
Plus apple crumble with custard -
Don’t think I’ll be ordering that again -
on a whole I’m happy and grateful for the speedy service I received today and may be back soon if I need pit stop
Did see a few people being refused a table or waiting 5-15 min so best to call ahead
Been here to offer my service and highly recommend this family bar . Met lovely people, staff are friendly, amazing bar , outdoor area and food also looks delicious! Looking forward to visiting here with my family or friends
Came here randomly with a girlfriend and ordered the beef Sunday roast and was not disappointed. Large portion, tender beef, tasty gravy - super tasty! The pub is also very nice, cozy, upscale and comfy. I would recommend coming here
Went here for Sunday lunch. Great portion sizes and the food was delicious. The veggies with us were happy with the options and enjoyed there meal.
Staff are friendly and welcoming.
Would definitely come here again.
Food was very good. One of the best Sunday Roast meals I’ve had in London. They forgot our order initially, which meant our food came 20 minutes later, but they made the effort to make up for it by giving us a free round of drinks and extra appetizers. Appreciated that!
Just came here after the big renovation and it looks beautiful.
Standard bar only service - great food and a nice variety. Bar staff and food server were so nice and friendly.
They have brand new high chairs if you’re coming with your baby.
The sticky toffee pudding with banana ice cream was INSANELY good.
Great design and interior. Amazing huge garden. Very attentive service and very kind. I had delicious seabream with beetroot ridotto, which was absolutely delicate and perfect. 5/5. Totally recommend!
We spent a lovely night. We were 8 and we went on purpose to eat fish&chips, and it was SO GOOD. The waiters were really kind, the location is local, so coming here was such a british experience for which we were really about!! The prices are not high related to portions and the food quality is really good
We had a function here the food was well presented and very tasty. The service was excellent with friendly staff and the outside seating area is nicely set out so that you are not on top of other people.
Hidden away in the back of this pub is a gorgeous garden, perfect for a summer evening dinner with drinks. The servers were very kind, the service quick and the food delicious. Definitely recommend.
We hired the conservatory space for a birthday party and we were really impressed with the space, food (especially the fish and chips board 🤩) and the service was excellent!
I would recommend it as a venue for a small gathering 25-30 people or just a trip to the pub. Thank you!
We had an excellent Sunday lunchtime experience, which was only slightly marred by the occasionally grumpy staff. Although expensive, my food (haddock) was superb, the Guinness was sublime and sticky toffee pudding was delicious. A couple of the staff seemed a bit unhappy but the owners were great. Overall it deserves 5 simply because the current rating is quite low compared to the quality we experienced.
