Usually visit this place during lunch time on office days. I normally go for the hot and spicy chicken soup. It has always been a good experience.
Great place for a lunch bite. Love the phos here, especially the pho tai lan (flash fried beef). Flavoursome and wholesome especially on a cold day! Also a big fan of the crispy king prawn, crab and pork spring rolls (nem hai san). Just a pure delight on a cheat day with those crispy exteriors.
I have been craving for a bowl of Pho recently and decided to check out the newly opened Pho Cafe at One New Change, St Paul’s. I decided to call up on an old friend I’ve not seen/met in two years and what perfect way to lure him out over food! I’m not going to lie, I was crazy hungry after a long day of work (it was only Monday). The Pho menu is extensive offering a range of tasty, finger licking starters to soup broth noodle Pho to traditional Vietnamese treats for desserts. For starters I ordered the summer rolls (for my friend) and large crispy spring rolls known as Nem hải sản for myself. The fillings were tiger prawn, crab & pork with nước chấm dipping sauce; wrapped in lettuce leaves.
Next up, after spending a good hour chatting, it was time to devour a bowl of Pho. I went for the house special Phở bò nấm trúng: Brisket, enoki & button mushrooms, creamy egg yolk, in beef broth. I have to admit; for a small girl that I am, I couldn’t for the life of me finish the bowl, however you definitely get your moneys worth for sure. Thankfully; my hungry friend managed to finish my bowl of Pho for me…he clearly loved it. Finally, I ended my meal with a delectable portion of Banh lá dứa (aka Pandan pancake with roasted coconut, served with ice cream (honey & ginger or coconut) and Bánh sô-cô-la truffle (aka Chocolate truffle slab served with green tea ice cream). Being Oriental Asian (Chinese) myself; it’s always a treat for me to dive into some pandan pancake as it’s not often I come across it (if I am not in Chinatown that is). I had such a wonderful meal and the ambience was very relaxing; little did I know from arrival of the restaurant at 6.30pm I would be wandering out the restaurant at 10pm! It definitely says something and if I could, I would have stayed a little longer. I didn’t realise we were pretty much the only customers left.
FYI I’ve never failed to order a glass of vietnamese iced coffee 😀 and for more details about Phocafe; there are 14 branches around London. Pho is a family run business which opened it’s first branch in Clerkenwell serving authentic Vietnamese food for all. I tend to do my food pic research on Instagram so do check out their pics for more inspiration before you order
By far the BEST branch of Pho in London and the biggest with a beautiful view of the cathedral directly in front of the restaurant. Access for disabled eaters available and isn’t as squashed as some of the other branches, plenty of seating and much quieter and relaxed branch. Staff are friendly and attentive, food was delicious as always and we ordered chicken wings, spicy chicken pho noodles with extras and coffee and fresh tea ice cream and chocolate slab for afters. This is my favourite place to eat in the world and is also one of my husbands favourites now. If you haven’t tried Vietnamese I suggest you do!
Perfect restaurant, it's spacious, easily accessible and nice and calm on a Saturday night! Come out of the place and you're pretty much staring at St Paul's, it's that close and the Central line station is just round the corner. The food is always good!
Great place for food. The service was a bit slow but i guess this was a reflection that it was a very busy period. While i didnt have the soup it was clear that my friends enjoyed it. I went for a traditional classic option which was also fabulous. 1 * removed because the wait was over 30min.

absolutely lovely!
I've been here on a Sunday afternoon and absolutely enjoyed it.
The waitress was cheerful and friendly and gave suitable advise in regards of choices and was absolutely well informed in terms of allergies/ingredients. The food was served quickly (in reasonable time to be prepared freshly) and tasted really great, portion sizes are generous.
Compared to other Thai places, "spicy" at Pho is very human, so even someone who does not eat spicy on a regular basis could enjoy it. People who like to eat really hot dishes can season to their taste with provided condiments and chilies.
Most importantly (at least to me) almost all dishes are gluten free (accredited by Coeliacs UK) and dairy free , definately will come back and try the rest of the menu.
This is the 4th Pho out of its chain we've been to...
Firstly, the location itself was very nice, wasn't hard to find nor was it too far the main stations nearby which are: St. Paul's, Mansion House, Bank, which are all Underground stations and finally Bank DLR.
Seeing Pho is located within One New Change shopping centre, there are many other stores and restaurants closeby.
The place itself is one of the better looking structures out of the many we've visited, it has more than enough seating for larger parties alongside a couple.
The only drawback was with its quality of food, it's far the worst we've tasted out of its chain, not sure why this is seeing it technically should be on par with the rest, perhaps we visited on the wrong day and normally the food is what we'd expect but it's still slightly surprising.
All in all, it wasn't bad but could of been a better in certain ways.
Tasty Vietnamese Cuisine. Beautiful View Of St Paul's On The Doorstep Of The Restaurant. The Chocolate Truffle Slab Dessert With Matcha Green Tea Ice Cream Is One Of My Favourite Desserts.
Good Vietnamese restaurant in the city. You’re best off coming on a weekend as it’s absolutely packed during the week. Pho offers a range of noodle, rice and soup dishes at all levels. The crispy beef rolls to starts is awesome. I had the chicken and prawn rice for main and although it didn’t look that great, it tasted really good! Friendly waitress and reasonably priced.
Doing vegan January and they do have lots of choices.
Opt in the spicy tofu mushroom pho, with all the fresh herbs and it was delighted flavoursome.
Its not real pho cos it will never be as pho is beef broth traditionally but eat it as an asian spicy noodle soup (veg) i would recommended.
Hope the chain will keep their vegan menu after Jan!
Pho is always a good choice ! Great spot just across from St Paul's Cathedral. The fiod was delicious, flavourful and at such a reasonable price too
This was the first time I’ve eaten here and it was a pretty positive experience overall.
The staff were friendly and quick to take the food order.
The drinks arrived rapidly, however the starters took nearly 40mins to arrive. They were well prepared and tasted good.
The mains arrived shortly afterwards and again, were well presented and flavoursome.
Very reasonably priced and good food, just a pity it different arrive somewhat quicker.
Great place for a quick lunch or a wholesome dinner. Didn't have starters, but went for the combo pho. Three cuts of meat in a great broth, with a side of chilli and seasoning to add to taste. Try the Saigon beer too. Also do takeaway
Good Viet food in good location. You love it especially when you seriously miss the hot and Asian food.
Many choices for vegetarians and vegans. Tried Spicy Green with tofu, the soup base is tomyum with lots of veggies. Will go back to try the vermicelli.
Good food. Always likes their soup noodles. And now I found this nice flowering teas they serve, loving it.
