A lot of history in this pub and these are the public houses we need to protect and keep. Had a very nice meal with 14 of us upstairs. Really attentive staff, great food and thoroughly enjoyable time had. Thank you.
It is a cosy authentic place in the busy neighboorhood. The food is really tasty and they have a large range of beer choices.
Right opposite Liverpool street station is the famous DD … I remembered seeing really old photos of the pub on a historic feed on Facebook. The pub builds on this expectation.
It was a really great spot, we arrived just as it opened for lunch on a Sunday. Dining was on the 1st floor. The place was
An historically architectural, edge of the City gem. Aged, distressed Wood everywhere, including barrel & butchers block tables. Excellent, ancient character. A place of gathering & conversation. Only challenged by having 3 in 19 taps stocked on this visit (at least one was Brooklyn).
Really nice place, I liked the atmosphere, Maybe a little bit too low light bit it's just my opinion. I ate pork for Sunday Roast and it tasted really nice. Recommended
Really lovely pub. It’s basically a fancy pub . Got to seat upstairs with the tables, really lovely vibe for a nice catch up and of course the fish & chips was amazing.
Hands down the best pub fish and chips I have tried to date!
While the service and overall atmosphere was amazing (as was the aesthetic), the only fault was the extreme noise that went through the bar to the dining room.
However, you can’t blame the guests for enjoying they’re time there as much a
Busy pub with a varied clientele. Drinks were average (they only have 1 type of rosè wine and put a lot of ice in the soft drinks) Food - all had the fish and chips. Nicely presented and a good taste and temperature when it came out. Unfortunately one of my group found plastic wrap in his fish, the
Brilliant atmosphere as always. Great historic venue bang in the middle of the City
Thank you to the wonderful staff who got Doug and Helens bachelor / bachelorette pub crawl off to a great start. Great service and historic atmosphere. Unfortunately did not get an opportunity to eat or review a menu so cannot comment on the food.
Attended a private function there last Saturday from 6pm. Diners upstairs drinkers down stairs. We all thankfully got an alive together with just enough room to mingle as well with each other.
Staff were fast , great memory gor folks orders and smiles.
My particular favourite was a 27yr young Polis
went in today, great atmoshpere, staff were super friendly and quick at serving and clearing tables. Had a small inconvenient but the manager on duty was able to solve it in a matter of seconds. Would come back!
What a superb pub, great drinks selection, and brilliant atmosphere, if you're passing by then definitely pop in,you won't be disappointed
Excellent Sunday Roast and Beautiful Pub.
The pub is great. The restaurant on the first floor is nice and has a traditional look. On the ground floor there is a nice bar that is always busy. The food is great and the sunday roast offers a lot of tasty choices (turkey, beef, pork and veg). The qualit
Stopped for some fish and chips and were not disappointed at all.
