Returned summer of 2023. The impossible task of improving the very good has been achieved! Lunchtime service visit: Delicious, from entrees to dessert. Staff warm and friendly. and delivered a prompt professional service. Atmosphere was relaxed. Menu reassuringly selective and curated. Wine list fully loaded! Recommended. Booking advisable. (PS the management team have opened a coffee and wine bar next door to their restaurant that looked very popular)

Had a lovely experience at Llewelyn’s. Service was attentive and very personable and the food had an interesting selection of dishes but tasted absolutely wonderful. The stand out for me was the chorizo and white bean toast. May be the best toast starter I’ve ever had. I’d suggest to get a table outside providing the weather is good as much more of a vibe. There was no music on inside and felt quite quiet.

Really delicious food here, there is a lovely atmosphere, perfect for a date or a cosy dinner. We had a little birthday party here and we're not dossapointed. We recommend the steak tartare and the ox cheek.

Tasty food but portions were very small and I was pretty hungry after despite having bread, starters, mains and desert! Needed some fries on the menu! I had the gnocchi for mains.

A lovely relaxed vibes and seasonal dishes that are always spot on. Be sure to visit Lulu's next door while you're there to stock up on wine and deli items

Such a lovely and refined restaurant with top notch food. We didn't have to be worried about not enjoying anything as every flavour was so carefully considered that every dish was perfect. The ambience inside is relaxing and dignified making for a perfect date night spot. The main dishes generally cost in the region of £15-25 and we felt it was absolutely worth the price - we each had two drinks, a starter, main and dessert and spent £60 each. For information, there weren't any vegan options on the menu but there were a few vegetarian dishes.

My first visit to Llewelyn's was to celebrate our son's 30th - so it was an excuse to eat and drink well. We were not disappointed. Very friendly in a genuine and warm way. Helpful with wine list and amazing food. Both the mutton chops and turbot were exquisite - while the pavlova was quite the best and I am not a pudding man. Simple but clean decor. Smiling staff. Very happy

Really great start to the meal with squid and carrot starters. Lamb and Greek salad was the perfect dish sitting outside in the sun, the cavatelli was somewhat lacking in basic seasoning and substance compared to the lamb. The service was friendly but a little inexperienced. Menus taking over 5 minutes to come, mains confused with the table sat next to us so there were 5 minutes between the 2 mains being served to us (a small discount applied for this). A server interrupting our server taking payment. I would assume a bad day for the front of house, wouldn't stop me coming back.

There is no doubt the food in Llewellyns is great. We have been a handful of times and do like it a lot, but as a non-drinker for the last 3 years I’m amazed at how slowly this place has caught on to the Alcohol Free movement. I would happily pay to have a lovely mock tail Or two and there are some lovely AF wines now available. It’s also a bit lazy to offer just one (quite boring) AF beer, when there are so many great ones now and ones by local breweries. I know many people who would go here more often if you offered some lovely AF options. Thank you

One of the best restaurants I have been in London. Great menu options and service. Starters and mains full of fresh seasonal vegetables. The menu changes depending on the season. Lovely interior as well. Highly recommended choice next to Herne Hill train station. 40-50£ per person with starter, main and dessert. In the photos: cod on toaster with pink radish assortment, trout with artichokes, potatoes and celery, orange posset with butter cookie.

Incredible food, very well presented. Located in the hipster part of Herne Hill amongst the bustling market, Llewellyn's provides exquisite food to test the taste buds. Great selection of food. Service was excellent.

First time and not the last! Really enjoyed the food, excellent seasonal dishes. Lovely selection of wines. A little heavy on the butter in cooking but that’s a personal preference. Food 5 stars and Service 5 stars. Atmosphere meh sat outside, table and chairs a bit tight, buggies and people on bikes passing through and its well in Herne Hill and right outside the station. I’m being picky here but if you drop £80 pp for lunch it’s all got to be top notch.

Amazing food and an even more impressive deserts! Highly recommend!! Located stones throw away from herne hill station, this restaurant is an amazing addition to the area. I was lucky enough to attend in a group which allowed us to be adventurous with our ordering. To start off with we had our friendly waitress recommend a wine for the table and a coffee for Myself to start. Starters: mussels and Cider which were incredible and a change to the usual pairing of wine based sauce. The Bread was the star of the show here. Mains: The Seven hour Lamb will leave you speechless. I don't know how they were able to plate it up, as it just fell off the bone. Paired with the potato dauphinoise, you can't lose. The Pork and the Beans were refreshing contrast to the slow cooked Lamb. I hope they keep this on the menu as it is guaranteed to be a spring and summer favourite. Dessert: You will struggle to choose from this incredible selection. The crème Brulee and Bread and butter pudding with Cholocate were my personal Favorites. We were left wanting to lick our plates by the end. Make sure you leave some room for dessert as you will doing yourself a disservice to not try something sweet from here. Overall, we had an incredible dining experience in a lovely atmosphere with attentive and friendly staff. Highly recommended for a date or groups so you can be as adventurous as we were.

This is one of our local favourites. Seasonal menu with limited but inspired dishes. Great outdoor seating. Would get 5 stars but service can be a bit slow at busy times.

The food is delicious. There is outdoor seating on a pedestrian area outside the station at Herne Hill. It’s relaxing and quaint. Staff were friendly and able to answer any questions regarding the menu. The Negroni was a little over-stirred but good enough. It’s good value for money. My skate wing was beautifully prepared and the smoked burrata to start was divine. Highly recommend this place. Be sure to book ahead as it gets busing, especially it seems with the warmer weather as patrons vie for the outdoor space.

Amazing food, great service, and cozy atmosphere at very reasonable prices. The seasonal menu was also mostly gluten-free. I would certainly visit again.
