Mumbai is one of the best restaurant in Bermondsey. Cingri Hara Piaz is unbelievable . Try their Chatga Lamb, mouthwatering dish. Very friendly staff.

We ended up here as it was one of the few restaurants open after 11 near bermondsey. The place is small. Food was okay. Aloo chat turned out to be chana poori 😛. Food quantity is low, order extra!

When you live away from home you are more prone to crave for food that you didn't necessarily appreciate when your mum asked you to eat it. The slightest whiff of a familiar ingredient or sometimes even the badly choreographed pop song blaring from the restaurant could draw you in. So, this is something that I genuinely avoid in London since most Indian restaurants here prove to offend my palate thoroughly.

All this having been said, Mumbai has struck a chord. Located very close to home, it has become our go-to Indian place. Their food obviously speaks for itself but their attentive service adds to the wholesome experience. Pardon me if I sound too much like a fan-girl but everything that we have ordered off of their menu has turned out to be an absolute delight. Right from the Popadum which is served with an array of toppings and sweet Mango Chutney, to main-course dishes such as their Chicken Biryani, Chicken Dupiaza or Chicken Saag; are all flavourful and authentic. If your hot-threshold is high for UK standards you can ask them to add extra chilly and you can be sure to be reminded of home with the first bite.

I’m not too sure if Mumbai would fit the definition of being a “Hidden Gem”, since it isn't really a hard-to-find restaurant; nonetheless it isn't much talked about. I would however recommend foodies to make a longish trip if required to this small Indian restaurant for an authentic taste of North Indian cum Bengali cuisine.

Nice curry. We ordered fairly standard fayre rather than their specialities and it was good value. Lamb curries had really tender meat, often not the case in some curry houses

Every person working there does a great job, the waiter was very professional. The Chef made fantastic food, and the owner was attentive and very helpful. They clearly appreciate their customers

i have visited 6 times so far and mostly had an enjoyable time with good food and attentive service. there was one night when we and other customers had to comment that the dishes we ordered were much spicier than usual so a bit more consistency in the kitchen would be good. i would still recommend this as the best indian restaurant in the area.

My go-to takeaway place. I usually order the Vegetarian side dishes. I order through their app and go pick-up my stuff. You get 20% off on their app on collection order >£15. Dal and vegetables are tasty, staff is very positive and polite, and always greets me with a smile. Also, super quick service. I’ve never had to wait and portion sizes are good and worth the ££. Good job, guys!

One of the best Indian restaurants/takeaways around, good food, reasonably priced and nice staff - sometimes the portions could be a bit more generous, but we still return regardless!
