A mysterious place that takes you back in time. The ambiance is amazing. If you are looking for a place to chat with friends while sipping an exquisite cocktail Milk & Honey is the right place. I already miss the dark, magical bar! Hope to come back again...
Milk & Honey is one of those members-only cocktail bars in London that take themselves seriously. It’s intimate, relaxing, dark (the candles come in handy in order to read the menu) and you can listen to some great jazz music while sipping your perfectly made cocktail designed by Dale DeGroff. There’s more: the house special rules, along the lines of “Gentlemen will remove their hats”; “Do not bring anyone unless you would leave that person alone in your home”; and “Gentlemen will not introduce themselves to ladies”, which add up to the sophistication and mystery vibe of this place.
We started with a cocktail at Milk & Honey. This is a members only bar, but I think it's worth it if you have enough pennies (I do not...but I was quite happy to go along with someone who did).
Milk & Honey Soho is a dark and sultry bar that is dedicated to the art of exquisite cocktails. Its charm lies in its authentic, speakeasy vibe - feel the daily grind ebb away as you tune into the swinging jazz rhythm. If you're hungry, tuck into the Fancy Snacks or, if your budget would prefer, the Saloon Food. All offerings are simple, yet stylish and tasty. The bar staff are relaxed and friendly, with none of the pretension that comes with so many member-bars. Non-members can (pre-)book a table for 2 hours before 11pm and are treated just as well as regulars. All-in-all, this is a world class cocktail establishment that sits alongside the likes of Eau de Vie; member or not, it's definitely worth a visit!
What an exciting experience to get into a magic place through a secret entrance - although located in a popular street of Soho! We were well received by a very pleasant and helping staff who made everything to make us happy. The cocktails had all great taste while having their own character. As a speakeasy bar, I have liked the darkness that gives a sensation of mystery!
Very good drinks in the heart of soho, if you can get a spot. The menu is extensive and there’s certainly something for everyone. Drinks are about £10 each, which is very good.
Service was good, not fussy. We had onion bahjis off the snack menu, these were also good.
I’d called around 5pm to book and was lucky enough to get a space for 7:30, there was no space for walk ins when we got there.
Definitely recommend if you’re in the neighbourhood
Went here with a friend who is a member. So we were upstairs in the more quieter setting as we had both had a long day at work. The food was nice although it was bar food style and the cocktails were beautiful. The customer service and the staffs attention to detail was fantastic. I'm actually now going to get my own membership that's how much I like it here.
I made a reservation for myself and 3 friends, post theatre cocktails. We all absolutely loved it. The atmosphere was relaxing, fabulous ambience and the cocktails were just perfect. It is dark and smouldering, but I quite like that ! The greet was a lovely touch and the guy who advised on the cocktail menu knew his stuff and he was on point, the floral raspberry cocktail was amazing. I would certainly recommend this gem and we all hope to return.
Came here for my birthday and it was great. The cocktails are absolutely delicious, and at around £10 each they’re good value for a private members club. Staff were super friendly and knowledgable - they took the sugar out of one of the coffee cocktails for me because I like it bitter - delicious!
An old American style cocktail bar with a wide range of cocktails. I would say its good value for money, but it is very dark so might only be good if you are looking to spend a relaxing quiet night. Very attentive staff, they missed my hummus order twice so at the end did not charge for it.
Excellent cocktails, discreet place to sit and chat with friends. Lacks energy though. More of a private member's club with modern furnishings. A series of small bars and rooms. Very good staff and service.
This is for private members so you will need an invite to get in.
As classic speakeasy as it gets, with an unmarked door, membership, and door guardian. The cocktails are excellent, reaching all palates, and the membership privileges make for a complete experience for everyone, so long as you have a reservation.
The food is good, but supportive. The wine and beer lists are succinct. This is a cocktail bar first, and it delivers exactly that.
Could not have left a more positive review if I tried. Staff were so lovely and drinks were amazing. Always checking up on us to see if we wanted another round at just the right times. I work in a cocktail bar myself and can I just say our drinks are no competition to Milk and Honey, I especially recommend the East 8 Hold-Up, so smooth you'd forget there's alcohol in it
At first we got a bit confused as the bar looked like a hotel reception at first and there are no obvious milk & honey markings on the building. We didn't book a table or anything. When we arrived we just got a table right away.
We had a few cocktails and all of them were really good, I have a recipe of my favorite cocktail and they even agreed making the cocktail for me.
The servant was really kind.
Thank you
One of the original, and still one of the best cocktail bars in London. One of the few times I've actually seriously considered getting their membership as the cocktails, food and atmosphere here is 2nd to none. Non-members can book a table but should get in there quickly!
Great cocktails and ambiance!
Service could be better - we got there half hour early and asked if we could get in early. The person at the check in said you will have to stand at the bar until your reservation time and we were ok with that. When we went in, we were seated at a table right away. A bit confusing. Expected seamless service. May be they care more about their members, as compared to us regular riff raff!
The bar is behind a non-descript door with a tiny window next to the Star and Garter pub. Open the door to reveal a small hotel-looking reception where you can leave bag and coats. They did accept walk ins. The bar had two floors, including a standing/stools area by the bar. They have an assortment of spirits, wines, beers and cocktails. Charming place. Not too expensive. Relaxed atmosphere. Table service.
Our stay here was nice, accompanied by some smooth cocktails and great service - our waitress was awesome, looking good and very friendly. The atmosphere was great - dark and cozy place for a nice private conversation or just hanging out with a large party of friends. All in all, I recommend the bar.
Well, when you find it, and you can get past the lady on the reception ... You will be greeted by an old American style cocktail bar, in the era of the prohibition. Cocktails are nice, relative good value for money. Staff very attentive and friendly.
Went there without a booking as we only found it on Google when we were in Soho already. The entrance is big yet hidden, so it was quite interesting finding it (we literally walked past the entrance twice before realising it was the entrance haha). The bar itself is quite nice, from what I remember you only have access to the ground floor or basement if you're not a member. We were first given standing space in the basement, and later offered a table to sit at when one became available, which was very nice of them. The cocktails were quite nice, the bartender really knows her stuff - I asked for recommendations by telling her I usually order earl grey martini, she apologised and told me they don't do any tea cocktails, but then went on the ask me what other cocktails do I usually have or what flavours do I like. She then recommended me to try French Pearl and I enjoyed it. My friend had London Calling and he liked the recommendation too. The cocktails are on the ok-side of price given the district; the atmosphere was also quite nice.
The only reason for one fewer star was the receptionist. She wasn't as rude as other comments mentioned but she was just quite cold - made us slightly unsure about the experience when we were first greeted by her. (And by greeted I meant she staring at us emotionlessly and just asking us "do you have a reservation?" instead of anything like "welcome/how are you?") Luckily the rest of the staff were very friendly so the overall experience is still enjoyable.
The bar is amazing. I guarantee that you won't find a more unique in both style and menu place in London. I've been here lots of times and I always bring lots of people with me because I know we're going to have a great time. There's a games room and the whole place is on levels so it's like a castle. I approve it highly.
Full disclosure, I am a member, but this is my favourite cocktail bar in London. The staff are attentive. They know their stuff regarding the cocktails and can make almost anything you want. But the key thing is that it is an island of tranquility in the craziness that is Soho. I love it.
