It takes a lot to stand out in South Kensington. It’s a strange neighbourhood with a large mix of tourists, Imperial College foreign students living off a measly stipend, and mega wealthy locals tucked away in their perfect wisteria-adorned homes. As a restaurant, who do you cater? The volumes of tourist, hungry after powerwalking through all three museums looking for a cheap and cheerful meal, or the locals who are able to spend a pretty penny on outstanding freshly cooked food?
Small restaurant but serves very good pho. Bit of a shame that there isn't much choice for vegetarians, but the veg food they do have is also excellent. Be sure to get pho and summer rolls.
Cute little place that we discovered on the way to the Royal Albert Hall. We sat downstairs, waiters were attentive and service was fast. Food was delicious, unsure of what to order but what we got was a delightful revelation - I'm not great with chopsticks, so I wish I asked for a spoon! Calamari was the best I've had for years, so soft and perfectly cooked. Summer rolls could have done with some more prawn as they got lost with everything else. Couldn't fault everything else.
