🚇 Bethnal Green
🍺 £6.40 Camden Pilsner
❤️ The new breed of East End Pub.
.
The Bethnal Green Tavern is located on busy Bethnal Green Road. Bethnal Green tube station is only a few minutes walk down the road.
.
This pub was rebuilt in its current guise in 1864 and used to be a Charrington’s house called The Camden Head. It was taken over by Wetherspoons for some years and called The Misty Moon, in 2020 The Graceland PubCo took over what is today, The Bethnal Green Tavern.
.
This is a large one bar pub with a good size servery at its core. The decor here in main is traditional with lots of copper poser tables and low level seating. The pub is fairly dimly lit as most of the natural light comes in through the front windows, as you head towards the back of the bar it does feel cosy with the candles on the tables. At the rear of the pub is the beer garden with plenty of benches and covered spaces.
.
The beer selection was very impressive with over twenty beers, ales and ciders to go at. After a bit of consultation I decided on a Camden Pilsner, I have never tried this beer before and thoroughly enjoyed it. Price point though was expensive for the area. I was feeling a bit Hank so I decided to check out the food menu. I ordered a Fish Finger sandwich and fries for £12, my food was delicious and a hearty portion.
.
I visited around 4pm on a Saturday and the pub was busy with an upbeat atmosphere. There are two types of pub in Bethnal Green, the staunch local full of punters that have drunk in the same pub man and boy. The other is full of new residents to the area, young professionals and students who are part of East London’s gentrification, this pub is the latter. The service here was excellent, the staff really know their stuff and were very hospitable.
.
The @bethnalgreentavern is a fantastic pub with a superb beer choice and decent tucker. The atmosphere and vibe here is relaxed and chilled, the service is top drawer too. One of the best of the new breed in the area.

A great little pub, the outdoor area in the back is especially nice. The Sunday roast and pork belly bites were both excellent.
Really love this pub. Excellent selection of beers. Food looks great although never tried it. Lovely decor inside (horseshoe bar, dark & moody) and a nice beer garden too. Open late. Highly recommend
A gem of a pub located in the heart of Bethnal Green. Real ales and many other draft options. Food is tasty and good variety. The atmosphere inside and outside is exactly what I look for in a pub. The patio seating is beautiful at night.
4.5 stars.
Large boozer with a great selection of beer and great food.
I love Bethnal Green.
I quite like this pub, not so much the inside but mainly the outside. very lovely beer garden. the staff are really great and the people there seem full of joy. I have only been there on Friday evening though, that might be why people are so jolly.
Lovely place, great for socialising either with friends or on a date in a relatively chill atmosphere. They have orange wine on the menu which is always a bonus for me too 😁
Lovely pub a few minutes walk away from Bethnal Green and reachable from Shoreditch High St station as well.
Got a solid selection of beers on tap, plus a good selection of cocktails. They're keeping the American theme alive with the picklebacks, which were amazing. 👌🏿
Superb place in Bethnal green, definitely the one to pay a visit for!
1. Staff - amazing! We've been approached by Maria at the entrance and Matty behind the bar who both have been very easy to talk to and knew their stuff.
2. Food - we've had two different burgers and both were really good. Just a right amount of quality food - it took a bit to be prepared but it was worth waiting for while chilling in the back garden - nice decor and really good tunes.
3. Design and facilities are top notch. Cutlery - solid and nice eat with, tables clean, even tissues are not cheap, toilet facilities clean and has everything you need - banging!
4. Definitely coming back!
I hope this review will help people to discover an amazing part of bethnal green to have their meal and a pint at.
5 stars!
Relaxed pub with a chilled atmosphere. Largish indoor area and a courtyard style beer garden. Good beer selection. (Food) Menu has vegetarian & vegan options and there's a few vegan cocktails too. Prices are good/reasonable for London 😉
Great pub with a back garden areas, very relaxing ,Variety of beers selection ,staff our friendly, also tastes food
One of the best boozers in the area with a cracking Sunday roast to top it off. Incredible and range of drinks and the awesome staff will keep you coming back!
Awesome Boozer, Friendly Staff, amazing selection of beverages. Go for the BLT, it was the best sandwich I have ever had in my life.
Highly recommend the muled cider. Gets quite crowded on a weekend, but has a relatively large outdoor seating area.
The ambiance is nice. Drinks are very expensive which is fine, but the number of cocktail options are less.
Good food and good service. Wasn't busy first thing it opened but has a good atmosphere so would come back for a few drinks in the evening.
A little gem in Bethnal Green. Simple but delightful place with good beer and great staff who enjoy company. A most enjoyable visit.
Had a great pie and mash for dinner, lovely place, great atmosphere and well sized and delicious meals! Will definitely be back to have another pie and try out some of their beers! :D
