We had a lovely meal and great service. Unfortunately we sat inside even though we booked a table outside, as it started to rain. The staff were very accommodating and the place was in a great setting, but the other customer that we were placed next to were inconsiderate of other diners. Would return but eat outside.
This was the first time I have been to the Waterway restaurant. We had 3 people in our group. I loved the food, scenery and most importantly the staff. They accommodated our needs and provided us with a table outside with a lovely scenery. They always checked if we were ok. Always smiling. The food was delicious. I will definitely return to this fabulous restaurant. Thank you!
The welcome from friendly staff , the views onto the canal , food was amazing and we had lots , we had cocktails I'd never tried and coffee to finish it was a perfect Sunday lunch thank you we'll be back .
The food was amazing and the service the best i've had in a while. Will definitely come back, thank you!
Fabulous location, good food, but most of all, wonderful, welcoming staff. Thank you.
Such a great place... The location is stunning! Best pub in London, in My opinion!
This was my second visit and was there with my husband. The service was excellent and food delicious, atmosphere busy but friendly.
Would definitely go again.
Great place, lovely food and really friendly staff. Thank you
Just had my birthday drinks here. Wonderful venue...lovely staff, delicious food and a great vibe. Thank you The Waterway for making my party such fun!
First time place for me. Absolutely excellent venue for a "gathering" ours was an 18 person reunion. Superb staff, lovely location and really nice sympatique venue.I would use this venue for a party or a one on one.
Lovely. Great ambience. Outside Heaters were the best. Food was good.
Thank you
Wonderful settings, excellent menu... fantastic service! Will definitely be going back... the team thoroughly enjoyed the experience...
This is one of the best places in Maida Vale overlooking the canals! A must try for the best view. The restaurant is well decorated and the food is really good. The prices are not bad either! I found it cute that they put blankets on the chairs for guests to keep warm while sitting outside. Would definitely recommend this place
Very nice location, perfect for a summer day.
I've been here a year ago for brunch and last weekend for a drink/dinner.
Food is good, staff is nice but what really makes this place special it's the atmosphere. No matter if you go during the day or by night; the canal in front, the green everywhere, the silence of the streets around just make this place perfect.
Far from tourists and perfect for a friend's reunion, on the weekend it's always full of people enjoying a glass of wine.
A lovely place to eat come sun or rain. I've yet to go and be anything but satisfied. The service is good and so is the food. Even better is the fact that the menu changes regularly enough that each (mostly irregular, spaced out) visit I get a chance to try something new.
Absolutely loved this picturesque pub by the canals of Little Venice!
We stopped off for a light lunch one afternoon. It was a beautiful day and unfortunately the outdoor tablespoon the terrace were full, however we got a table by the window so we could still see the world (or boats) chug by.
We had a sharing Greek Mezze sharing platter, and it was so big it could easily have fed three or four. There was a stack of warm toasted pitta bread waiting to be dipped into bowls of hummus, tzatziki, as well as little platters of grilled haloumi and vine wrapped parcels.
I chose to have a fruit juice blend of lychee and apple juice, freshly squeezed, and it was outbid this world. So refreshing and delicious!
Service was quick and polite and our 'light' meal just was the doctor ordered for such a sunny day. Highly recommend this place, although book ahead to snag an obviously coveted table on the terrace!
One of finest outdoor riverside venues I have been so far, a must visit at summertime. Very lively place, serving plenty of seafood, particularly loved prawn and avocado salad, accompanied by
perfect summer sunshine, weather permitting. Service is very good, with a nice sight of swans passing by....
Top location, top view and good vibes!. I have so far tasted the tuna steak and the waterway burger which were both delicious. Draught beers are reasonably priced, food is more expensive than average pubs but you pay for what you get. Lovely spot!
Like all big cities, London is so jam-packed with places to eat that you could never hope to discover the best ones without some local advice; The Waterway in Maida Vale is one of these addresses worth discovering. Loitering on the edge of the Grand Union Canal, down a dead-end street, The Waterway’s teak deck and a modern adjoining dining room is an inviting place to spend a lazy afternoon. If it’s not warm enough to be outside, the dark brown leather couches inside are a welcoming place to collapse. Food-wise, they offers smart, traditional pub food.
This is just another way of classically enjoying the weekend out with the family. Now I enjoy a classic day in the park having a nice grill or picnic whichever suits whoevers family. Now, I live by the canal and what a lot of families are 'trending' on (esp my area) is that every weekend they come to do some fishing, rowing, site seeing or just go to bar/grill? Now this bar/grill is family based. And by family based I mean, children friendly (even tho there's alcohol and fire going round) they've got both indoors and outdoors seating area. In summer the breeze is so good the grill, the smell the view of the canal is just so beautiful and relaxing. Definitely recommend it to a family who wants to go out and try something different by either going fishing or rowing then settle down to eat in the bar/grill right on the canal. Making it a l (Now I have to point out that they haven't got the best of food but it's such a nice way of escaping the world and surrounding yourself with positive energy and loved ones!!
Beautiful place for drinks either in the summer sun by the canal( when you're lucky enough in London) or sit by the cozy indoor and outdoor fireplaces in the winter. Ambience perfected. Great for a date and groups.
A perfect place to have a drink on a sunny summer day out in Little Venice. Getting a place to sit on such days for a big group is quite a challenge...but who cares as long as you are served your drink.
A must go place to hang out with friends and family.
There are very few places which feel like perfection, especially in terms of the ambience and this is one of them.
Find a sunny day and whether you want to get a few drinks or munch, it's just idyllic! My absolute favourite place to run to after work in the summer or just sit there through the weekend!
Very nice atmosphere. They have a lovely outdoor seating area that is shaded. Their menu is nice and varied, with interesting plates. We ordered the chicken with Saffron, calamari, both were nice. For desert, the Eton Mess was nice, and the brownie chocolate. But I’d preferred the brownie to be more warm. The waiters are friendly. The bathrooms are clean.
We went there for dinner. The waiter was really friendly and attentive. Food and atmosphere were nice, definetly go again
The restaurant's location is delightful, especially in such pleasant weather. Despite the rest of the party canceling, the hostess was understanding, kindly accommodated my reservation, and ensured that I was seated at a pleasant table in their charming garden. The food was delicious, and the service was efficiently attentive.
The atmosphere of the place was nice, definitely sit outside where the flower decors are if possible. We had the calamari and grilled garlic shrimp (MUST TRY) and a jug of premium Pimm’s. They were all delicious!! I am still dreaming of the shrimp and would go back just to have it again. We also got the bread and olives - bread was nice but the olives weren’t good.
Next time I’ll also try the sea bream - the table next to us got it and if I wasn’t already full, I would have ordered it (on top of another order of the garlic shrimp).
Absolutely LOVED this place - the best canal spot for breakfast / lunch. Fantastic on a sunny day, feels like being on a holiday. Food is the best quality you can get, very well prepared with love. Service is outstanding.
Nice restaurant beside the canal! The food was good, the service was good. My only issue was that we were sitting outside in the dining area, and people were smoking! Provide an area where people who want to smoke n eat can and do not mix up so non smokers having to smell it while eating their food. Really let the whole vibe down for me. Edit in reply to WW. It's a shame you think only a smoking area should be where all your clientele would like to eat on a sunny day. In fact, you're the only restaurant I've been to in a very long time that allows smoking in the eating area! To me and my friends, it was a letdown to our meal experience.
We found this lovely bar when exploring Little Venice, luckily they managed to find us a table as it was very busy in there. We were just going to have a drink but after seeing the food arrive at other tables we decided to have some lunch and so glad we did, it was delicious. The staff were really friendly and the whole place had a great atmosphere.
Went for dinner with a few friends, good variety of menu and food was quick and delicious. Drinks were amazing too! Was served by Freddie who was very friendly and great service. Will definitely visit again!
Great location on the canal. Book on the deck. Food was great, we shared starters. Waiter was very good. We would definitely go back.
The Waterway is an excellent gastropub just by the canal in Little Venice. Very good burger and Moroccan lamb on flatbread. Extensive wine list. Attentive service and dog-friendly too. Highly recommended!
Such a lovely place, and amazing service, great food and wine selection. Our server Uthra was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Her recommendations were wonderful, we couldn’t be happier. This was our first time, and I feel like celebrating my birthday there, what a gem!
What a fantastic way to spend your Saturday or Sunday morning with friends and family! A delicious breakfast at The Waterway, overlooking the canal, and then a stroll around. We had their dirty hash, avocado on toast with poached egg, their house special breakfast, and the eggs benedict on the softest muffins.
They were very quickly out of their pastries, however. But overall, just amazing!
Attentive service, at booking table was reserved for 2 hours, before sitting down advised we'd need to leave after 1 hour and 45 minutes and reminded several times, it was fine and enough time for a lovely lunch, especially having booked a table on the terrace on a sunny day, but annoying that our departure time was their priority. Great cocktails, worth a visit... but maybe for a lazier lunch book twice, cocktails, starters, and mains at your first table and stay put or move to a clean table for dessert... more cocktails or coffee!
The best restaurant for me so far, this restaurant after a busy day gets your moods up, the service is as expected, the drink and starter was sent straight away, we order the rib eye which was cooked to perfection, looking at the canal the my afternoon was complete***
A lovely place with excellent food and service, even better if you can book next to the canal on a sunny day under the lovely flower-decked awning (OK not real flowers but charming nevertheless) which they can heat it on those soon to chill evenings. Always popular so best to book. Not cheap but you can eat economically - just too tempting to overdo it (and those cocktails...)! A great, atmospheric spot we happily return to.
Very nice place I enjoyed the food and the drinks near the river and i had really nice experience
I highly recommend this place
Ten years of visiting The Waterway, and being a Winter Club member, went to a great members night with music and a cute little gift bag. Food back to being great after coming about a year ago, and had been disappointed. But had a yummy lamb steak with a nice sauce. Would recommend!
Honestly, not bad! The food was nice, the. Staff were polite and the ambience was relaxed and welcoming. We went as a group of three and sat outside for dinner, I ordered the cod fish and chips, which was garnished excellently, but the sauce felt a bit too salty in combination with the already salty cod. The food was also plated excellently. The ambience was welcoming, with fireplaces and subtle music, the view also complemented the experience. As for pricing this restaurant us more on the higher end of places, but it was worth the extra money! I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone who is interested in some good food and good vibes!
Fantastic food and lovely atmosphere. I had the ribeye steak which was perfectly cooked. My friend is vegan and said there was a great selection of vegan options for her too. Waiters were friendly and attentive. One of our favourite restaurants in London!
